When I started this class, I didnt know an F-stop from a shortstop. By the end of the 6 week course, Mary had systematically stepped me through the basic tools and concepts of photography. I now am more confident in the process of good photography, not just snapping a picture, and feel I have a solid foundation for continued learning on my newest passion.

Miss Mary is a photography goddess. She is so personably while also being professional, she knows more about cameras, photography, and all sorts of visual communication buzz words I can think of. She meets you at your level and is gracious and patient throughout. I was impressing myself with the pictures she instructed me to take and completely amazed that somehow I really did that?! If you are genuinely interested and eager to learn photography, no matter what extent of knowledge you have or dont, I promise you will learn something from Marys classes!

I took the Photography Immersion class at Amicalola Falls - taught by Mary Buck. I am a beginner photographer and this was a great way to get a lot of hands on instruction from a professional, plus practical experience, in one weekend. I would highly recommend this to other beginners like me or people who just need a refresher. It was a great experience.

My experience from start to finish was wonderful with Mary Buck! She is so knowledgeable and I tried to soak up as much as could from her! I took her beginners course which teaches you the fundamentals of the camera such as aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, different lens options and flash settings. I took a 6 week course where we covered each subject and I would have homework in between each course, applying the new methods. The name of the game is practice makes prefect! We ended with our final to put all I had learned into practice at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I took so many beautiful photos that I felt like a semi professional photographer. I highly recommend Mary and cant say enough nice things on how much she taught me and the great experience I had. Hint: If you are a true beginner, ask her first before purchasing a nice camera as I learned the lens is equally as important as the camera, if not more so. You can spend your dollars more sensibly!

I have used Marys services a couple times now and both experiences were excellent. My first time was indoors and the last one that took place a month ago was outdoors. The head-shots were beautifully done and I received a ton of compliments on them. Mary took her time to understand what I wanted and executed perfectly. She is my go to photographer for my head-shots.

I loved taking this class. Mary helped me learn how to use my camera and taught me so many concepts I needed to know about photography. I am very new and she was able to get down on my level and help me. I am very excited to practice what I have learned and definitely want to take more lessons from her. It was an awesome experience

As a technophobe, i knew it would take someone with great knowledge and patience to teach me how to use my DSLR camera, and Mary Buck is certainly that person! she has a way of explaining things which makes it very easy for you to learn all the functions of your camera. she has definitely helped me on my way to find my muse.

Mary is very knowledgeable about photography. Her teaching style is succinct and direct. She is well prepared and the pace moves right along without leaving the learner behind. You will not be bored. I am very glad I took this class and believe I now have the building blocks I need from which to build my familiarity with the camera as well as the tools to create artistic shots. I’m very excited to delve deeper. And isn’t that why you want to take the course in the first place?

Mary was a wonderful instructor. She was able to adapt to my skills and take my abilities further than I ever imagined. She helped me learn the lighting of the subject and taught me how to use flash photography. I also developed skills with the artistic side of photography. I would suggest that you give her a call if you want to take your photography skills to the next level. Thanks Mary, you are the best!

Mary is tremendous with young adults! My daughter Samantha, 16, has enjoyed every minute of her 12 weeks of basic photography, to the point that she wanted to dive deeper for another 12 weeks. Mary is a great communicator, so as to connect with Samanthas passion and draw out her questions and hidden potential. A great blessing to a young women discovering her gifts and talents!
