Hair Fusion and Holly did my hair and makeup de my wedding this past weekend. I cannot say enough good things about them, the owner (Susan), and my stylist (Holly). I had a trial run with them 3 weeks prior to the wedding, then had nails done with them a few days before. Holly was AMAZING and made me feel like an absolute goddess. Taylor did my mom and sisters hair and they looked beautiful as well. I would recommend them to anyone for wedding hair/makeup or nail services!

Faith is awesome! This was my first time at Hair Fusion, to get my first professional haircut in two years (dont judge me! I was traveling in Asia for a year before Covid hit, then ... well, Covid). Anyway, I had looong hair (and Ive had long hair for a decade) but just wanted it gone -- the result was about 8-10 inches off, now a long bob, and I love it.Faith was super patient and didnt cut it all off initially, let me look, styled it naturally because my hair gets curly when short -- and then she went in again to cut off a couple more inches off the back. It took extra time, no additional charge. I really appreciated how she studied the photo I showed her and took baby steps to get there. (And shes super friendly.)

I’m gonna be honest, it was fun while we were there, however, we felt a bit unwelcome, and the nails we did get (acrylics) weren’t really what we asked for. My best friend went with a more complicated nail, whereas I went a bit basic. However even mine weren’t really what I wanted. The nails are also a bit crooked, and it wasn’t worth 145$. Bad first experience overall, wish we went somewhere else.

Holly did my hair & make-up for my wedding day and I could not be happier with the results. She worked with me to complete my vision and was extremely capable and fun. I wouldnt do it any other way, Holly is a pro!

I previously frequented Hair Fusion (before the pandemic) and was happy with their services. Unfortunately, my first visit back, during the pandemic, was very disappointing. The stylist I was using isnt working their during the virus so I had a new one. I provided a picture of the cut and color I wanted and specifically asked if both were doable. I also expressed my worry given we hadnt worked together before. She reassured me and was adamant she could do it. After $220, I didnt get the cut or color I requested. The cut was shorter and not in the style of the photo. The color was NOTHING like the photo to the point that the stylist was even disappointed. It was clear we were both very disappointed with the result. No discount or refund was given. I am now wearing a pony tail and hat until it grows out. Ill be going back to the Denver area to my old stylist because shes amazing and it will be worth the five hour drive each way!

Ashley and Faith are awesome! I started seeing Ashley for my nails and lashes, and Faith for my hair. I am totally in love with the hairstyle Faith gave me, my hair feels so much healthier and full.Ashley was the real MVP today though. The poor thing had to take a pick axe to my nails today, and that effort was insane and mad appreciated. 💯I got my nails done on Friday at Hair Fusion by someone else, and they were already cracking by Friday evening.Can’t lie that I was bummed to be fully charged to get my nails fixed. I’m not super upset though because Ashley was breaking a damn sweat to get the other polish off.

I drive all the way from Cortez to get my hair cut by Taylor W. I feel like she is very meticulous. My hair is very straight so it shows any mistakes, and my hair always lays perfectly after a haircut by Taylor! I highly recommend this place, it is worth the drive for me and the higher price point than whats available in Cortez.

Tegan was amazing at helping me with all of my wedding hair and makeup planning. After the fabulous job she did at my wedding I became her forever client. Vicky got the ash blonde color I wanted perfectly and took her time to make sure the cut was right after drying it and got the layers perfect. We used Hair Fusion for our wedding hair, and we cant thank them enough. We were a challenging group because we were two brides with up-dos, and two mothers with up-dos as well. My wife had a chin-length bob and somehow Sarah was able to braid and pin all of that into this intricate regal looking do! It was magic! Mary Beth did my hair, and I could not have been more pleased, it was precisely what I was envisioning. It was bohemian cascading braids on one side with a low romantic up-do on the other and flowers strategically and romantically cast through out. Not only were these girls able to execute the vision, but they set us at ease and kept us relaxed. Mary Beth also made my mom look wonderful (she knows what look good on faces! Im telling you!) and she was professional and sweet. No regrets. ONE word of advice: the salon is busy, so if you call in and cant find the person youre looking for, hang in there, they have a lot of different people working for them at once!

I used hair fusion for my wedding hair and make up. And the people who did that was absolutely amazing! The person who did my hair used to own the salon and she was absolutely fantastic. After I had the worst hair trial with another woman at the salon who kept telling me she couldn’t do my hair the way I wanted because my hair was thin and basically blaming me for her incompetence. The other woman who ended up doing my hair was truly amazing! She had some hair extensions that she dyed to match my hair color and made my hairstyle happen. The woman that did my makeup was really great the entire time. I would recommend this salon but not that first woman who did my trial she was terrible.

Mary Beth is Simply. Fantastic. I absolutely adore Mary Beth. I could not be happier with how fun it was to work with her and her amazing hair and make-up skills! I mean, wow!! She did my hair and make-up for our engagement photo session and for our wedding. When I’ve had other people in the past do my hair and make-up for different occasions, I have never been 100% happy with the results and so figured that’s just how it was with someone else doing my hair/make-up…not so with Mary Beth!! Not only is she just a lovely person and her positivity and lightness of being make every moment with her fun and care-free, but she is amazing at her craft! I hate to straight up give such a low rating for this place as Im sure my experience isnt a reflection of the whole salon, but I just wanted to mention some things for management to keep in mind. Im pretty fiercely loyal to good stylists and have had a hard time finding a new one since I moved to Durango in August. A lot of people recommended Hair Fusion to me, so I was excited to book an appointment to get something totally different with my hair for the summer. Plus I love getting my hair done so I was excited for the experience. Im not going to mention the stylists name because she may have just been having a bad day and while it is obvious that she has talent, but I felt extremely unwelcome from the moment I walked in the door. Her first comment was how what I wanted was not what I booked for (which I apologized for as I am not a hair expert and thought that lightening my hair was an all over color), and she seemed generally annoyed to be doing my hair. I thought I was pretty clear about wanting to go much lighter but it ended up looking the same (I have dirty blond hair). Essentially the only thing I got that I wanted was the cut. I will say, the color application and cut was well done, just not at all what I wanted. It was disheartening to be looking for something very different and end up paying over $200 for a glorified version of my natural hair color, and I was left bummed out for the rest of the day. I know I shouldve said something, and its my bad for being pretty passive, but I just didnt feel it was worth it and would rather pay even more money to get it done elsewhere. I still tipped almost $40 as I work in the service industry and know how tough it can be, but I also know that if, as someone who works two jobs and saves up for things like this (always willing to pay well for my hair), I should get the kind of service that Im paying for, and unfortunately I didnt feel that way. Im not trying to be difficult or tarnish this salon or stylist as it is clear that there is some talent here, but I was just very very disappointed with my experience. Just something to keep in mind for the future.

We eloped in April in Durango but neither of us had been to Durango before so I asked for recommendations for where to get my hair and makeup done. My photographer (Allison Ragsdale... if you need photos done, definitely look her up) recommended HF for both and Im so glad she did. From when I initially reached out to HF to find out if they had availability for my wedding day to the day of and everything in between, they were so helpful and sweet. I loved how knowledgeable everyone I worked with (hair, nails, and makeup) was and honestly wish I lived closer to be able to go there more regularly.Id definitely recommend the trial run the day before if youre doing wedding hair. My wedding day was completely stress-free regarding my hair because I knew the stylist that would do my hair the day of was already familiar with my hair and some of the treatments she added during the trial run made fixing up my hair for my wedding easier and quicker.

There is a girl named Tegan who cuts hair at this establishment who is under the influence of alcohol and if anything is said she will attack the client and nothing will be done. She owns or runs all weddings, brides beware and take the time to read the other derogatory remarks. I know some of the other staff personally and they are wonderful and very talented therefore I gave Hairfusion one star. I felt responsible to share feedback regarding alcohol and sharp instruments. Please do not bother to reach out to me with any sort of rebuttal this has come from several people and is very concerning, please do something before someone is seriously hurt, this behavior should be approached with a one strike policy!“Concerned resident of Durango”

I had a “spa” pedicure here and it was horrible. Both the woman who greeted me and the woman who did my nails were very unfriendly; they seemed annoyed that I was there. The woman who did my pedicure used a full on cheese grater on my feet for maybe five seconds a foot before moving on. The massage had no pressure whatsoever and lasted for about thirty seconds. Then the nail polish she put on did not even come close to covering my entire nail. Such a waste of time and 40 dollars. Definitely would NOT recommend.

I always see Karly, and she is amazing with color and cutting my long hair. I have complete trust in her and her skills. I have NEVER walked out of Hair Fusion unhappy. My 19 year old son wont go anywhere else. He is going to college in SD and says he doesnt trust anyone there and will wait until he gets home to get his hair cut.

I am new to Durango and was very nervous about trying out a new stylist. I came to Hair Fusion with very long, thick hair that I colored myself with box color when I moved here, I left with an amazing hair cut, shorter and thinned and a beautiful color....all by Taylor. She was fantastic. She listened to what I wanted and also gave her professional opinion as well. She is amazing along with the whole salon. Thank you so much Taylor!!

Ugh if I could give less than 1 star I would. Went here on vacation and this place came recommended, though I cant for the life of me imagine why. Cut was awful - uneven and impossible to style on my own, had to go get it fixed when I got home. Not only was the service itself terrible, this place is an absolute viper den! I travel extensively and have been to a lot of salons around the world and while chatting and sharing a little harmless gossip is one thing, I have NEVER seen or heard such viciousness, especially around customers. Unbelievably unprofessional and made me and two other new customers very uncomfortable. Reminded me of a bunch of bitchy high school girls, and the owner was the worst of the lot so guess she sets the tone. Maybe if they focus more on their work and less on their cackling slander, they would get better reviews? But I doubt it. Run, dont walk, away from this nasty place!!!*Update - And in response to the owners comments below, of course I dont use my real name, after what I witnessed in your salon, while I dont live in the area, I dont need to be harassed by these malicious girls online. Its also interesting that there was no response or apology at all regarding the bad hair service, to mine or any other negative reviews. That speaks for itself. Last, the entire point of review services are for customers to recommend or warn other potential customers based on their own experiences with a business, not for you to be provided with the contact information for someone who gave you a bad review. Again, that would be foolish especially given the vindictive nature of yourself and your employees. Best of luck with your business.

I have only seen one stylist here, Mary Kate, and have been going to see her for 6 months now and I am truly impressed and happy. Mary Kate specializes in wedding hair and make up, so she brings a real expert edge to everyday styling. She has taught me new styles and new tools for my long hair and she is great at coloring too. She also listens to what the customer wants. I wanted dream/impossible/movie star hair and she made it happen and she is always fun to talk to. My only constructive criticism is that she tends to run a little late (like 10 mins), but I also run that late, so it works out for me; it may bother another customer. The atmosphere is great and the stylists work together and support each other. They have recently remodeled and expanded and I love the new look.

I had Teagan and Mary Kate do the hair and make up for myself and my bridal party for a wedding in May. They did an amazing job! Teagan was great on hair and made sure everyone had something they loved and something that would last all night. She was even able to make changes to my hair last minute. Mary Kate was just as great. She made sure all of the make up looked natural and fit the girls personality. She made sure the pictures would come out great and everything would last. They both made a great team and worked well together. They even made my sister happy which is very hard to do. I would hire them again in a heart beat for any services I need done. Every bride should have a team like this to help them on their wedding day!

I am in LOVE with my new, short curls!! I went in to Mary Beth today and she is a curl gooroo! She took 8 inches off my hair to ship away to Pantene Beautiful Lengths and made me fall in love with my new hair... I would not go anywhere else. Such a fun experience with one sweet, energetic, curl-loving girl! Go see Mary Beth and your curls will be as happy as mine ☺️

Cannot recommend. Very poor service for a bridal appointment. We arrived, as scheduled one month before the wedding, and this salon failed to plan a stylist for the appointment. The stylist said, I have no interest in the scheduled hair style, for a simple up-do. Very poorly handled.

Would never go again... yelp keeps deleting my reviews so now I’ll just use google.

Brendan Vlass is an amazing barber. He specializes in straight razor shaves and mens haircuts. I get a shave everytime I go in and am always satisfied. His shop is clean and neat and provides a nice atmosphere.

Mary Beth and Harley did the make up for my wedding back in June! I cant say enough about the 2 of them. They did such a beautiful job on me and my bridesmaids. Being a destination wedding, its always a little scary taking a chance on someone that you dont know, but I am glad I did. They were on time and professional the entire way through. They even stayed positive when Durango was in a heat wave and we found out my bridal cabin had no A/C :( From one stylist to another, I really appreciate everything! It was nice for me to sit back and get pampered for once! Hope to see yall again when we are back in town. Thanks for being awesome!

Ive been going here to see MaryBeth for almost four years and couldnt be more pleased. I would hate to see my stylist ever leave but I would continue to be loyal to the establishment because Ive seen great results in other customers hair from other stylists.

I received the worst haircut of my life. Sloppy, choppy and uneven looking. Total hack job. I got home and had to trim an entire section of bangs the stylist ignored myself, and then nearly cried when I saw the horrid layering in the back. I have straight hair that is not difficult to cut. Additionally, the stylist did not fully blow-dry or style my hair -- I walked out with it damp and terrible-looking. She could sense I was displeased and said come back in if you see things you dont like -- why on earth would I let her at my hair for a second round? Nothing to do now but let it grow. And for this, I paid $50 plus tip.

Kelly Vlass is a curly mane taming miracle worker! She not only gave me the best cut of my life, and curly hair can be tricky, but she also gave me all the best tips to low matience style it that takes minutes! I just got back from a mountain bike ride, took off my helmet and my curls bounced right into place! Killer dry cut! Thank you! She knows her stuff!

I have known Tegan (a stylist) and Holly (the owner) for as long as I can remember. Tegan and Holly are two of the three stylists Ive ever let touch my hair and Ive never been happier. Tegan has done my hair color for 9 years and my cuts since I was a little girl I would never go anywhere else. Not only is hair fusion nice clean and professional they treat you like you are a part of the family. Id give them 10 stars if if would let me.

Worst pre-wedding hair style trial that I could imagine. I dont live in CO but will be having my wedding in CO. I found this salon through their advertising in wedding magazines. The stylist they scheduled me with was Tegan. As this is my first time ever going there or having my hair done in a salon in Durango I didnt know what to expect. I came with a clear picture of what I wanted, a low side swipe cascade of curls pinned to the side. I arrived with my hair pre-styled from the day before and had loose curls already. Tegan did re-do the curls but didnt get into the overall look and part of what the picture presented. She used bobby pins to gather my hair on the one side and when she was done I explained that I wasnt fond of it being so bulky around the frame of my face and asked if we can bring hair off of my facial line to expose my ear (as the picture showed). She didnt reference to the picture during the style, only looked at it once at the beginning when I first got there. Tegan began pulling pieces out of bobby pins to re-pin in different areas, which did expose my ear but then it created bumps and loose areas of the overall style. As I was still sitting in her chair its hard to know how secure the bobby pins really are. She explained that as I wear my hairstyle that the curls will loosen up and I will need to let her know how it wears throughout the day. After we left the salon I had an errand to do and had bobby pins falling out and pinned hair falling down out of the side swipe style. I called Tegan to explain my dissappointment that it has been less than an hour and the hair style, which I paid $120 for, has not held and its not possible to where it the remaining of the day to evaluate the style. She explained to me that the bobby pins she used are not the usual ones she uses as the beauty supply store was out of them so she used what they had available. My appointment was scheduled 2 weeks prior to coming in. I told her is discouraging that I paid $120 for a pre-wedding hair style that 1. isnt perfect (from the tugging and pulling at the end) 2. didnt even hold. She told me that the pre-style is just a trial and it wont be a perfect style. Then I shouldnt be paying $120 for the pre-style then! I feel I didnt get what I paid for nor was she willing to work me into her schedule to make it right. I will not be going back and would rather pay someone else to do a pre-wedding hairstyle that would be doing a detailed job as if it was my actual wedding day.
