I recently attended the Concealed Carry Handgun course (Oct 2021) and found the whole experience to be excellent. The instructors (owner Stewart and Scott) were very knowledgeable, professional and very good at getting the class to interact.I completed the course with a good understanding of the legalities of concealed carrying and especially my obligations to be a responsible concealed carrying citizen. I would 100% recommended Stewart and Scott at Triangle Self Defence & Tactical Training and will be back to further my training and knowledge.An added benefit of being an Alumni of the organisation is the access to their great online content, training videos and so on all of which are very professionally done.

Excellent conceal carry course. Stewart really knows what he’s teaching. Teaches through one of his many passions. The course is very interactive and promotes great discussion. The dialogue we received in this course definitely made it worthwhile. Looking forward to taking his class again!

Stewart provided my 12-year old son and I with an intensive safety course, covering firearms awareness, basic maintenance, gun safety, gun usage and firearms defense basics.I really appreciated Stewart’s military experience, his calm demeanour and thorough understanding.As a refresher for me it was invaluable. As a first experience for my son he left feeling comfortable around firearms and I left feeling he has a good understanding on the discipline required to handle firearms.I would recommend Stewart’s course and I will be bringing my other children to work with Stewart as well.

The handgun concealed carry class was excellent! Registering was straight-forward, and the information provided was thorough both for what I had to do before the class and what I needed to know for the class. The instructor Stuart was extremely professional, very safe with his firearm demonstration, and very clear in his instruction. I was impressed by his rational for why he carries: not to take on the bad guy, but to make sure he gets home safe to his family if something does happen. During the firearm test, he gave each of us individualized attention and tips for drawing our pistol to maximize efficiency, safety, and accuracy. 10/10 would recommend

Stuart & his company Triangle Self-Defense Training take all the anxiety and confusion out of the sign up and onboarding process for a firearm novice. Class was excellent, relevant and thorough. Would very much recommend.

Took this class with my wife about a week ago and we havent stopped talking about how informative and legally critical this class is. Stewart has a great knowledge base with a lot of real world experience that helps the class apply the knowledge to everyday scenarios. We were so impressed that we have since signed up for the Self defense courses that they offer as well as the EDC classes that improve even further on CC management and techniques. Cant recommend them enough.

Really amazing and informative sessions with these folks. I’ve had a private training as well as the concealed carry class with Triangle Self-Defense; both were engaging and fun. You can tell that all of the instructors love what they do, but they also (more importantly) have a passion for teaching and making sure everyone is up to speed at their own pace. If you’re on the fence about taking a class, just do it! I can’t wait to take more lessons with them.

I took their Carry Conceal class. Stewart (Instructor) was very professional. If you, or even yourself with a friend or loved one are interested in getting your/their conceal carry permit in NC I highly recommend these guys. I served in the US Military for 10 years, moved to NC and needed to take this class to get my permit. I was nervous about safey, and wondering what the quality of training I would get would be. Triangle Self Defense more than delivered. I felt very safe, it was very technical, yet made working with hanguns accessible for everyone. No intimidation, no ego, just pure professionalism and a ready-to-help-others attitude that made this a great experience for me. Im considering enrolling in their other courses on the basis of that merit alone to round out my self defense skills so I can be more ready to protect my family.

Well they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Not so apparently, as I found both the material, the presentation, the personality and engagement by the instructor with the classmates outstanding. After 28 years as a police officer and having reached a command rank I still feel like I gained something from this well put together course of instruction. New to the State of North Carolina and not completely comfortable with my knowledge base of applicable statutes and rules for carrying a concealed handgun I left this class feeling confident that I was fully prepared to carry lawfully and respond appropriately to any situation I might encounter. Five stars for the great job! I highly recommend this training.

Second time taking a Concealed Carry course (lost cert during a move). This course is comprehensive and professional. The in depth and thoughtful way the course is presented is sobering and fun. Handling a firearm demands responsibility and Stewart and his crew are great at instilling the fundamentals in the class. I have a lot of experience with rifles, but less with pistols. The staff was supportive and kind while teaching dry firing at the range. If you are looking for a great experience while taking your Concealed Carry course, sign up. Took concealed carry course. Stewart was very thorough and very knowledgeable. He gave a great and safe learning experience for learning to shoot firearms. You can tell it is his passion and that he is very experienced with what he teaches. He was very receptive to answering any and all questions relating to firearms from the class. The classroom and range training were thought out, well-planned, and followed through as scheduled. I would certainly return again for additional training and would recommend others to utilize his trainings/sessions!

I took the Concealed Carry Course. Stewart and the training staff were absolutely amazing. After recently moving to NC, I took this course to meet my new home state requirements and to learn about the local laws/statutes. I’ve been in the law enforcement community for nearly 20 years and this course was one of the best I’ve ever observed. Extremely professional and courteous as we went through various drills and firearm safety was at the forefront of class. Took EDC1 and 2. Will be back for EDC3 and FoF if offered. This class is the one to be in!!!! Research no further. All the instructors are amazing. They explained everything by putting it into terms and situations you can understand. They showed me how to use my firearm so that it was comfortable and easy for me. Steward and Scott are the best to ever do it. This class was awesome. It wasn’t boring at all. We got out of there on time. I can’t wait to learn how to defend myself because I am definitely signing up for more classes.

Hi. I recently took the concealed carry weapons class and I truly loved it. The class was very relaxing and Stewart had a great sense of humor, That kept me awake . I was tired from getting off work at 11:00 pm the night before and Losing an Hour Sleep 😴 Th class kept me awake enough to Pass and Qualify. I enjoyed the concealed carry class. This class offers more than just the required information / instruction. The class was a good balance of by the book instruction as well as common tongue / real world instruction. The instructors were professional, easy to talk to and patiently answered all questions. The range instruction portion was equal to the classroom portion in the professional patient instruction with each student. I plan on returning to take the EDC course in the near future.

Took a self defense course with my team today! Stewart and his colleague were so engaged and focused on really teaching us the basics of self defense. Teaching us to be more AWARE. As a mom who also carries, its nice to have some other techniques that can help keep my little girl and I both safe. Not only are they great instructors, but theyre also VETERANS! Fantastic experience today at the Concealed Carry permit training class. Stewart and Scott are clearly experienced and seemed to have perfected their abilities to teach the material to the class in an easy to understand, clear and thorough manner. In addition to learning the required laws, gun safety, handling, cleaning, etc., they present real life video footage of actual encounters, and fully discuss them with the class. My preferred way of learning is through the use of situational examples, and this was perfect. The instructors encourage class participation and repeatedly ensure any and all questions are answered.At the range, safety is key, and I felt safe because of the clear instruction and close supervision. Stewart and Scott made the course very enjoyable and presented material in a way that it was easy to comprehend and retain. I highly recommend Triangle Self-Defense Training Center. Important note- Covid safety protocols are in place and strictly followed which benefits everyone. I will be calling them again for continuing firearms education.

These classes with all venues have and will be booked far into the future due to the current social and political environment. Make sure you are waiting for a good one. Stewart and Scott take to time to be thorough answering all your questions and safe. The class is larger than Id prefer but manageable and much smaller than others I have heard about. Do not expect this to be your only training. Its a license to learn like anything else. Take more classes from these guys and hit the range.

My husband & I took the Concealed carry class yesterday & were VERY impressed! We thought the class/law part of the day would be boring but it was awesome! Stewart & Scott made it interesting by integrating real life scenarios, involving the class & giving us a ton of useful information. I was really nervous about the range part of the day because I am a novice, had never shot at an outdoor range before & ended up having to use one of our guns I was not very familiar with. Stewart stayed right with me & patiently helped me through it. By the time I was done I felt very comfortable & had learned ALOT! We will definitely be looking into more of the classes they offer!!

A couple of years ago my brother-in-law put together an awesome day of tactical training at Triangle Self-Defense. It was extremely informative and fun at the same time. I couldnt have asked for a better way to spend that weekend. I recently decided to go ahead and sign up for a concealed carry class, and I knew that after my last experience I was coming back to Triangle Self-Defense to add on to my knowledge. My high expectations were once again met and exceeded. Ill definitely continue coming to TSD for additional classes and training.

Both instructors provided an excellent learning environment along with skilled feedback and lessons. The facility was clean and all students were kept distanced to comply with Covid precautions. I felt that I learned a great deal from the instructors and would be happy to take a course with them again.

Coach Stewart is an extremely knowledgeable instructor and provides top notch training. The curriculum offered at TST is a holistic yet pragmatic approach to self-defense and I leave every class having learned something new. Most recently I attended the home defense course which was very informative. We analyzed real world case studies, learned fundamental principles to become better prepared, and worked on some drills to refine our skills at home. This seminar helped me identify some crucial gaps in how I plan to safeguard my home and family and gave me the tools to address them!

Training was OUTSTANDING. Trainers were professional, thorough, and treated everyone equally, regardless of experience, skill, ethnicity, gender, political affiliations, etc. They were impeccable about Covid-19 protections. I have taken 2 different courses with Stewart of TSD and am looking forward to more, and will probably do private training sessions as well. I cant think of a safer, more professional firearms training center.

As a long time owner of handguns I finally decided to take the concealed carry class. I chose Triangle Self-Defense because they had the best reviews. The class was taught in a way that was easily understood for the novice, but not boring for a more experienced user. Especially the laws regarding self defense which were clearly most important. Classroom and range instructors were patient and knowledgeable. This was a very good investment of time and the cost is extremely reasonable.

I had taken conceal hand gun classes in other states before but Triangle Defense Training was extremely detail. The class presentation was on point especially on teaching the appropriate and safest methods to discharge your firearm.

Just finished my concealed and carry course with Stewart and Scott.. They were amazing in their no nonsense presentation. They will give you the all the necessary information to pass the written test and most importantly understand the laws and gain the knowledge to responsibly own and carry a firearm. The range time and instruction was also awesome and way above what I have experienced in another course as I had missed the renewal date for my concealed and carry card..This is theeeee place to go to get trained and feel confident in your ability to carry and properly use your firearm...Dont go anywhere else....

The classes were not what I expected them to be...IT WAS MORE!!! Im a typical newbie to hand guns so they make me nervous. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable, understanding, patient, and took the time with each student to ensure they received the best training possible (especially at the range; I feel more confident now each time we went). Classes were very diverse (anywhere from no experience at all to those renewing their permits) and you never felt like you were asking a dumb question. I highly recommend this to everyone whatever your skill level. I cant wait for COVID to pass so I can take more classes!

Stewart is as real as it gets. I am so pleased that I chose TST for my concealed training. I hadnt shot a weapon since Air Force Basic Training 40 years ago. Despite the large class, Stewart took the time to help me feel comfortable holding a firearm again. I would recommend TST 100%

I took a concel class in another state and the instructors werent nearly as good as triangle. They work with each student until they are confident that are able to handle the guns. I shot better than I have before.

I signed up for the first August session of the Guns 101 two-part course (classroom + range time), and I completed the classroom session on Monday. Stewart made it very easy for everyone in the room to learn the basics of safely handling a firearm and is an extremely knowledgeable firearms instructor. He created a SAFE atmosphere for us, modeled well how to handle our assigned firearms, and checked that each person in class could demonstrate proper gun handling technique. Really looking forward to our range time session next week!
