Today was my consultation and I was extremely nervous and anxious. Neil, one of the owners, came outside to meet me and showed me around. I was immediately put at ease by his warm inviting personality and positive energy. My instructor Sergio was extremely patient with me and took his time walking me through the exercises. Billy, the other owner, was wonderful with the sign up process and all three gave me great hope that I can finally realize my dream of learning to sing. I am so SUPER excited 🤣🤣🤩🤩🤩

Great experience for children interested in performing arts (singing, acting, playing piano, voice lessons). Fun and creative environment-instructors are very hands on and will push each student to their maximum potential.

Our daughter joined the summer camp program 3 years ago, the experience was so amazing that she did not want to leave. We have watched her grow in confidence and talent each year while developing friendships that have supported and encouraged her every step of the way. Billy, Neil and the entire staff have embraced our daughter’s individuality since her first day. They recognized skills she didn’t know she had, encouraged her to work towards them which taught her to exhibit a new found confidence that will help her to be successful in any field on or off the stage. Our daughter has learned life long skills, created friendships that will last a lifetime, all while having a blast at the same time.

Billy goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. Soon as you walk through the door you are greeted. No one is treated differently. The love and caring atmosphere is given to everyone.The needs of the student is first and foremost. I recommend this school to all who have a talent in music, theatre, singing and dance.

We love it here! Our daughter has so much fun at summer camp, she also takes music and voice lessons. The staff is friendly, professional, and uplifting. They are accommodating as well, if we cant make it in person we have the option to do it virtual.

My Missy started at NHAOPA in late 2015 on a whim and never looked back. Shes learned and grown so much all while having fun and building lasting, meaningful relationships. Through this pandemic, Billy, Neil and the teachers at NHAOPA have managed to navigate ever changing rules and regulations to keep the kids safe and allow them to do what they love. They’ve allowed for some normalcy for my daughter. She’s been able to continue classes, vocal lessons and summer intensive (both virtually and in person). Most importantly, they’ve allowed her the opportunity to be with her friends in a safe space. I’ve always said that my daughter not only found her passion at NHAOPA, she found her people.

This place has become a second home to me! I love going here.

NHAOPA is such an awesome and loving place. They helped me to improve my acting and singing skills while still being able to have fun and make friends with likeminded people. This past summer was my first NHAOPA show and it truly was the best summer of my life and I never thought it would be. All the kids that go there are like family to me and they are all so accepting, the first day I walked in expecting to be lonely for the rest of the week but almost right away the kids invited me in and it only took about a half an hour and we were close friends! NHAOPA is not only teaching students to be professional with their craft but also teaching them valuable life lessons on how to be kind.

ONLINE LESSONS WORK!!! We have been with NHAOPA for almost 4 years but the past year and a half have been all online since we had to move to VA. My daughter trains with Neil each week and the improvement she has continues to make is amazing. With a super busy schedule in our family it also helps how convenient it is for her to hop on the computer, have her lesson and my husband I not having to worry about rides.

My son, has been going to New Haven Academy of Performing Arts (NHAOPA), for years n there is no other place I could EVER imagine sending him!! The teachers are absolutely whole-hearted, genuine n go above and beyond for the children! We started with summer camp n it has grown into more! Singing, acting n the very BEST part, is my son (n so many other children) feel that NHAOPA, TRULY is home away from home!! I have NEVER felt so unbelievably grateful that not only is my son learning so much but, he has gained so many friends!! I have NHAOPA to thank for that because they teach the children to support each other, build each other up, help each other, enjoy n have a blast working together!! Everything about this academy is absolutely wonderful n I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in singing, acting, learning to play an instrument, amazing summer plays, cabarets n becoming part of the wonderful NHAOPA family🎶🎹🎸🎭🎥🎤🥁🎶!!

I’ve been doing online/video lessons for two years now with NHAOPA after several years of in-person lessons, and I love it! My online lessons are 100% as effective and helpful as they were in person, and I’ve been able to get the improvement I’ve really been looking for in my singing. It’s comfortable and fun doing the lessons from my home and I’ve saved lots of travel time. I’m so glad I’ve been able to continue my lessons & growth this way!

I am an adult recording artist and performer, and have been working with Billy and the crew now for two years. I say without hesitation that Billy is the best vocal instructor I have ever had and by far the best in the state of Connecticut. He’s transformed my vocal performance, helped me reach new heights in my tone and vocal control, and he’s an amazing coach as well for those who are putting together a career in music. E (2017) and A (2018) have grown so much in this program. They are now singing, acting, playing the piano, and dancing. Their movements are elegant. Their confidence in all activities has increased in ways I could never imagine. I love to see the excitement in their faces when it is time to go to class. The teachers hold them accountable for the skillsets they are learning as well as how they are doing in school academically. They enjoy their life long friends as well. What a wonderful place for my children to grow, learn, and become role models and leaders. I appreciate the safety precautions that are in place to keep this small business open during Covid. My children needed this home away from home and we are thankful. ❤️❤️❤️All the summer shows were fabulous. New Haven Academy of Performing Arts (NHAOPA) is a home away from home. My daughter truly love all aspects of the program. I am amazed at how my children have grown and how the confidence has grown in every student.
