First, I would caution anyone looking at school reviews to question the authenticity of the reviews. Does the person reviewing have a legitimate profile? Do they live in the area? Do their children even attend the school? Blanket statements without any detail should be a telltale sign that the review is fake. Spelling and grammar should count too! Do you want to rely on the opinion of a reviewer who cannot grasp basic grammar and doesnt know the difference between principal and principle? I would suggest that the reviewer does not have any principles!Three generations of my family have attended Saint Mary School and it is a fantastic school. The teachers are dedicated and supportive and Mr. Arpino is a compassionate, hardworking and dedicated principal. My children love going to school and are receiving an excellent education. I would be happy to speak to anyone interested in the school and provide information about the wonderful programs and staff.

I’m saddened by these posts. I understand that there was a horrific incident between 8th grade students from the school and the child affected should not have to go through what he is going through. However, my understanding is that the incident occurred at home and the school did take action even though it did not happen in the school. Good for them for setting an example. Where were the parents who weren’t monitoring their children’s use of electronics and social media at home.As for the rally I would like some information. Isn’t the purpose of a rally to raise awareness? Why not make the information public so the community can get involved if you feel strongly about the cause this shouldn’t be a problem. Hiring people to work on the inside doesn’t sound like a cause it sounds like you are plotting an act of violence. I understand people are upset as they may have a right to be but name calling and making vulgar comments are discrediting the values you are trying to promote. This is a school with children of all ages and races. A few dumb kids made a really bad mistake and it sounds like a plot of revenge against the children and staff that have nothing to do with the incident. What are we trying to accomplish here? Are you saying that the kids who made the mistake are incapable of learning from it? In good catholic faith shouldn’t we forgive and give the opportunity to the kids to be remorseful of what they may have done? I don’t think turning our backs on the kids is the answer. And a demonstration with violence is exactly the opposite of what we are trying to do here. Lead by example, show the world that we are not divided and that we can work together to promote that this behavior is not tolerated.Peaceful protest gets the message across, violence and vulgarity is only a cry for attention. If you truly want to make a difference in this world think before you speak and remember who you are representing as they may not agree with the message you are sending. Don’t discredit the boy who is the victim fighting to make a difference. And don’t lump an entire school based on the error of 14 year old children. I see both sides here just remember we’re talking about children.

My children have been going to the school for 4 yrs now. Very family oriented school who also teach discipline and good morals. Anywhere you go, you have miss guided ppl but, you can’t judge an entire establishment on those few. This has been and will always be a great school.

I think people are overreacting over the Devin Moore family case. St.Marys School is a great school. As well, this incident happened outside of the school. I believe we should calm down about this. Once again, St.Marys School is a great school.

I live in East Islip and my children have attended St. Marys for 13 years. It is a great school and Mr. Arpino is truly an exemplary principal. We need to teach love and acceptance in our homes, especially knowing that our children are watching, and will emulate us. The hatred on these websites only perpetuates the problem. If youre not part of the solution...

Very bad school. Has racist teachers and poor educating style. School building needs MANY improvements. Regret selecting this school. Highly dont recommend this place. Dont waste your money.

This incident is a terrible tragedy, and our hearts have to go out to this poor young man who suffered from this bullying. Every parent, student, and teacher must stand behind him and give him the strength to overcome this incident. However, if you know Mr Arpino and the staff at St Marys you know that this is an outstanding school with a loving and caring staff. This great school has been around for over 100 years, and should never be abandoned.COLOSSIANS 3:13Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Not only do they have great teachers and wonderful and caring administration, we have met THE best families who have become our close friends! We love that our children go to school with families who are so involved in their children’s lives, as we are. We look forward to all of the amazing years at SMS ahead of us! For all of you trolls posting on this page about St. Mary School and our amazing teachers, families and school administation: GET A CLUE! GET A LIFE!If you were so concerned about Devon Moore, you would stop making this situation worse for him. You have no clue what actually happened because if you did, you would know that the school and Principal are not liable. The parents of the students are, as well as Moore’s parents. Did you know that Devon Moore is still in school everyday? No, of course you don’t because you are clueless as to the facts surrounding this case. Does that sound like parents who are afraid for the safety of their child? No. It doesn’t.The parents who support this school also support Principal Arpino and all of the teachers and staff. Oh, and we can’t wait for your “surprise” rally. I bet it will be as successful as today’s rally. You’re a bunch of losers with fake profiles who have nothing better to do. If you think you are helping Devon Moore, you’re wrong. You are making the situation much more difficult for him. So keep up the great work, Trolls. We thoroughly enjoy reading your comments of untruths. Perhaps you should enroll back in grammar school since many of you can’t seem to spell or punctuate correctly. That’s our first clue that you are not part of our school community. Have fun, TROLLS! Congratulations on drawing EVEN more attention to Moore.Gary Randall, another TROLL. I did not out myself because I have NOTHING to hide. Get a life loser! You dont scare me. You dont know me. Im laughing my ass off at all of you trolls with FAKE PROFILES. I happen to care about all the kids in the school, including Moore. Perhaps maybe you all would like to stop victimizing him now. You are ALL making this situation worse for him. Nothing you can say or do affects me because again, I have nothing to hide.
