If I could give a rating with no stars, I would. I came in today to the Office Depot in East Palo Alto and was unsatisfied with the service I was given. I originally came in to return some Office Depot brand pencil pouches but was told I wasn’t able to return the product due to not having a receipt. Since the employee told me that I wouldn’t be able to return the product, I told her she can just throw the pencil pouches in the trash because I didn’t have a use for them.As I was walking to my car, I felt bad that the product were going to the trash and decided to do a google search on Office Depots return policy. This is what I found.“Office Depot® and OfficeMax® Branded Products Guarantee – Office Depot® Brand and OfficeMax® Brand products (excluding our brand Ink and Toner) may be exchanged or returned for a full refund at any time for any reason.”Hence, I decided to go back in and ask the employee to clarify. When I returned, the product was not disposed of, instead they were on the counter at the copy centers. When I showed her what I found online, she immediately called the manager, who I would say the manager provided horrible customer service. When he got there, he started asking me when did I buy it and why I had bought so many (I had like 12 of them). What i did not appreciate was that he was getting aggravated with me after showing him what I found online in regards to their return policy. He responded with their no way for him to tell when and where I purchased the product. I was explaining to him and I use tutor at Downtown college prep (DCP) in San José while I was still at San José State university. My fraternity would donate school supplies. These were extra pencil pouches that we never got rid of. He then said that since I was going to donate them, I could donate to them since they had a donation box.I told him that it was fine that I would donate the product and told him a did not appreciate him getting aggravated over a simple question. The solution was so simple, yet he gave a attitude over what I estimate to be around $30. I honestly wouldn’t have even wrote a review but since he gave me attitude, I feel like it’s appropriate. I didn’t even bother to ask him for his name but he was a Asian guy. I don’t know who’s in the right or wrong here but I feel like he should work on his customer service skills, especially for someone that is a manager.

Love this place. I come here all the time to get posters printed for school and they’re super quick and friendly.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Looks like there are difficulties keeping the shelves stocked given the amount of open retail floor space. Hate to say it but they might be going the way if Sears and Toys r Us if situation doesnt improve.

Dont go to this store. Customer service is pathetic. They dont care about their business and your money. May be I will never buy anything from OfficeDepot. I should have read the customer reviews before visiting this store. Regret its too late. No wonder why they are closig more stores.

Not much of a variety as other places, staff is helpfull however when asking if they carry a certain item was told they didnt carry it however by accident I found it so staff needs to learn more of what products they carry. However under new management now so hopefully things will be better in the future as originally I wouldve only given 2 stars, but they are doing better than they were previously.

They had me over 15 on the phone waiting to find out whether they had the printer cartridge I was looking for. Talked to 2 different people because the first one disappeared, even had to go look for the cartridge number myself online (printer number and color were apparently not enough, and they said it would take them an additional 15 to look for the number online themselves, even though they seem to know exactly how to look it up). AND had to repeat the printer and cartridge number at least 4 times, since they got wrong repeatedly. Either the systems or the people, but something is very wrong with this stores management. At least they were nice.

This is a good office Depot different from other ones with no lights on inside these days.

Though youre able to find what you want this place looks and feels empty. The selection is not too impressive either which forces you to settle in purchasing something. Finding what you want is difficult too without asking for help. There seems to be plenty of people working there though not on the floor so its hard to find help.

The employees here are very helpful and always have a cheerful attitude.

They messed up the print order I placed when I was in a rush for an event. it was so embarrassing. when open the prints pages were printed half way. nobody bothered to check one page and realized theres something wrong.

Overpriced byt if you find the same article on internet cheaper they adapt their price l paid $29 I instead of their price $44 for a tonner .

Ugly layout, out of stock of most items, seemed to be preparing for liquidation. I hope its not always like this...

Unbelievable how unprofessional and unpleasant their customer service was when I was calling in to this location. Whoever was answering the initial calls to transfer you to the right department spoke WAY too fast and had the worst attitude that left me feeling unappreciated as a potential consumer to their establishment. I guess Im going to Frys now...

Whenever I go there to get an electronic scan of my documents, I return empty-handed. Their computers can never read my USB drives, and they are not allowed to email the electronic scans to customers email addresses.

Im not employed at Office Depot but I would assume the employees and or manager would know the difference between a toner & a cartridge in a printer since they sell them..I guess not 😑🤦🏻‍♀️. Worst service & organization. Beware shoppers.

The store is showing its age. Staff is generally slow, incompetent, and disinterested in assisting patrons.
