Don’t let them lie to you, they say you’ll get transfer credits that can be used at other colleges. That’s 100% not the case, they don’t transfer anywhere.

Deserves 5 stars. Lives up to its name! The staff are absolutely caring towards the students and want nothing more than to help you succeed that is why they are there. They set you up and direct you and it’s up to you to take the next step. It’s up to you to put what you learn in action. It’s up to you to have the good attitude to go out there. Best learning experience and outstanding help I’ve ever seen.

I went to this school in 2012. I took the pharmacy technician program which is now discoutinued because its not a demand. Walgreens hire people and train them with their program with no education. My instructor was named Larry and Ken. Ken was fired my last week of internship and larry is no longer there. I was promise that being an alumni that I would get 1/2 percent off of tuition if I decided to come back. I recently inquired about it and thats not the case. I was interested in the medical assistant program and they want to charge the full price. I only worked once as a pharmacy tech. make 12.00 an hour since graduating. This school is scam. They give false hope and security for the future. It waste of time and money. very disappointed , kinda feel like they ruined my career path.

My daughter decided in high school she wanted to be a welder. Her and her father decide to check out MTI they made the experience she would have, the trade /education she would receive sound amazing. Told her they would help her with getting a job that’s one of the “things” MTI does for its students/graduates...”if it sounds to good to be true generally it is”. They haven’t helped her with getting a job they’ve made her feel as those they have, but yet nothing. A constant run around. So 1 yr and half later still no job no nothing except school fees..she has a monthly payment to make on an education/trade that she can’t even get a job with. MTI makes promises that they don’t keep, my advice keep your money in your pockets and do your homework before you decide on MTI.

I Graduated from the HVAC program about 5 years ago. It was fantastic. They only had 2 instructors at the time, and it still ran smooth. Now 5 years later I have family in the program currently and I will say with confidence they have completely screwed it up. The program is nothing less of embarrassing and Im actually a little disappointed to call myself alumni now. Ive actually talked to said family member about transferring to a different program for a different school. Were spending way to much in tuition for this person to not even learn half of what I did. The ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars is cuz it was a 5 star school 5 years ago. What an absolute shame this school has become.

Just go to ICC. I went here, had the instructors immediately quit about less than a month in, and then the two who had taken their place had been so over the place with trying to get us caught up and then prepared for the test that Im surprised I managed to learn anything about the trade. The fact that I mention this school as a reference for education and have that be the sole reason I am turned away should be a perfect example as to why you should save your money. The only thing this place gave me was an EPA I cant do anything with in the area and a 15k loan to pay off. Good riddance and I will not be recommending this place to anyone looking to learn a trade

I am in my last module. I have had a great experience. The instructors are very knowledgeable. They are very helpful. They care about the student and where they will go when there done. You are given the tools at this school. What you do with them is up to you. They do listen. You just have to ask not expect something for nothing. What you put in is what you get out.

I have currently just finished my externship and am studying to take my CPC exam in 2 weeks. My instructor, Kristine has gone above and beyond to prepare us for this exam and our career path. It may have seemed like a lot at first but it was only showing us how challenging medical coding can be and without the homework, studying, and tests theres no possible way we would have succeeded. I would most definitely recommend this school and the Medical Coding program.

I just have to say, being in my early 40s, female, and starting over, so to speak, I was blessed beyond measure by finding my way to this school. The instructors, the staff and the students have now become part of my extended family with relationships that I know will live long past my graduation this Friday. I enrolled in their HVAC program, and was taught all the ins in the classroom and was able to get hands on with a wide variety of equipment which ranged from older equipment to the newer high efficiency models. I was very grateful to have this variety to learn from, as the range of equipment I will see in the field will likely be just that way. I could go on for ever raving about this place, but I will close by saying if youre after a new career, this is ABSOLUTELY the place to grab it!!!Thank you to all of you who helped me find my way!

I was working as a cosmetologist before I decided to come back to school, I was extremely nervous but the staff and students here made me feel at home. I enjoyed coming to school everyday and now I enjoy coming to work everyday. Without MTI I wouldnt be where I am today.

Entered the HVAC program, huge mistake! The program instructor will waste your time speaking of personal issues and rants rather than focusing on material. For a career school one would think more things would be hands on? When you do get to the lab you will see for yourself, its a run down joke. Be sure to get a good walk-through before signing because I didnt. I was told I would be walked through. I was rushed into signing up, huge waste of time. Over $14,000 tuition that I have yet gained any knowledge. My last instructor is a server part-time elsewhere and needs to ask other instructors every time they are asked a question. Doesnt seem to have a grasp or understanding of the material to even teach! Little experience in the field, graduated from MTI a few years ago. The same goes for the program instructor and I believe the other instructors. All graduated a few years ago, and they are teaching these courses? For a career school I would much rather have an instructor that has some years under there belt in this very industry. Beyond all of this their equipment is a huge joke! They are making a killing off of what they steal from students. They certainly dont reinvest into better equipment for students to learn from. Nearly everything you will get hands on with here is ancient equipment. The best quote I have ever heard was Money Thieving Institute definitely sums this review up in total.I certainly hope that this is only an issue with the East Peoria Campus since their are several others.

I am a graduate of MTI, and now am an instructor. I attended after the factory I worked in closed. After being out of school for many, many years the instructors and staff were very supportive. They encouraged me throughout. After graduating I was able to get backinto the workforce, now I have returned as an instructor. I enjoy helping others receive the same support and encouragement that I did. My students become part of my family. Enjoy coming here everyday. As a student I was very proud to be an MTI graduate, as an instructor very proud to be a part of the MTI family helping others succeed.

Bad place to get a education ! My wife knows more about the teachers life , then she did about what she was studying for. She learn about how much the teacher loves to drink , burp blows , what her daughter wears , tornado farts , and high fives students for getting drunk. Doesnt teach much about what you need to learn for the job at hand. Just hands stuff out without telling you whats to needs to be done om homework and testing , no direction on tge papers too. You just got to guess! Also make sure you spell everything to a T . Gives so much homework , that you will spend days , I mean days..... and dont get to still carry on your route that needs to be done with life.( ps. Dont complain , cause she thinks its fun and will give u more. (Will treat u like a child ) . Also on top of homework , you have to study in that week , for 7 test in a row too. Also finds it funny to make them feel stupid and brags about how smart she is and how she pass with a 4.0 something and higher, which thats all they could give or it would of been higher. Also she said how this stuff is common sense and everybody should know it. How she cant understand why people cant! Well , what Ive learn in life , everybody learns in a different way. She also brags about how she got other students in trouble or kick out , due to them being upset about the over load of homework , projects and so many test in one week due at the same time. That was funny to her. Also if you ask her a question , you get your stupid look and she cant believe you ask that. Its like this teacher gets off on people being over whelm and unhappy. By the way , they do have a medical name for that. ..! Very full of her self and likes to hear her self talk. Not to happy about having to pay money back for that kind of service and now no education or job for it. This is just a scam to make money off of poor people and say your getting a education , when your not. Its just another quick way to make money scam. Watch out people , if your class is like that in the begining of your two weeks , get out before u owe them your life and some blood. My wife didnt want to cause trouble and just walk away . But now we owe money, lots of money , to a school , that teach lessons in a teachers life and a lesson in life not to be scam again . Thats what we pay for. And no we dont want to call and talk to someone , like they told everybody on here. Kind of funny how they have no direct email , just phone numbers . Which wont do you know good anyway , youll owe the money no matter what you say or what they will say on how to fix it.( Which they wont , slap on the hand , even if they do that , or asking other students about it , which they where bragging right alone with her , so thats that ! ) Which its not about oweing the money , thats got to be pay no matter what. Its the thought of the matter of helping people out and nobody falls for this scam again. Oh well , here to learning a life lesson , which I guess they did teach that , but learning a life lesson and moving on !! Sorry Im normally a nice person , but these days to many not so nice people walk all over nice people anymore , or scam them and get away with it. Which this is just my opinion , and not trying to push people away from this school , its my review and how I feel , you never know you might feel about this school , you might feel different about it and like it.

HVACI obtained my associates degree in hvac a little over 6 years ago from a different school. I was hired by a company in the area and have two years of experience as an HVAC installer and four years as a technician. That being said I understand and remember what it was like being new in the field.Recently, two students who have one week left in the hvac program at Midwest technical institute came to my company to job shadow our technicians. I had the privilege of working with both of the students, several days each. After working with them, the other technician at our company and I got together to discuss what we thought of the students. What we both noticed was sad at best. First, the students lacked basic knowledge of the hvac systems, new and old. The material that they were presented with seemed out dated and not accurate. Basic questions such as, where to check for power on a furnace, and how to check compressor amps on an air conditioner, cold not be answered. All very very basic to our industry. Second, Tools were provided to the students from MTI, But use of them is a different story. It does no good giving the students tools if they dont know what they are used for. Something as basic as a refrigeration wrench, the student didnt know what to do with it. The students were given electrical meters and didnt know what all the functions were used for.I could go on and on but I think Ive made my point very clear. In my opinion, what these students have paid (which for what I was told by both of them was around $15,000) this so called Institute is an absolute disgrace. Sure a nine months program is extremely short for what needs to be taught in this field, but for $15k, these poor students need to know the basics!!!!As previously stated, I did not attend this school. I am simply going of of my knowledge of the industry and what I was taught and working with two of the students in this program. My advice, take the time to research schools and classes before taking them. Sure a two year degree takes time but it will better prepare you and give you the knowledge to be successful in the HVAC field

This school is a waste of time. I was almost done getting ready to do there externship went to school to take my last final and a couple of days later they called and said I had failed the final and was out of the program. Now to me this is extremely unprofessional how they just called and wouldnt let me re take one final. How can you do that to someone who went through the whole program with good grades and everything and then fail one final and be kicked out? Hmm bunch of bullshit. Dont waste your money here you would be better off going to icc.
