Satori Academy has played a significant role in my son’s life for the last 6 years (age 3). Every instructor motivates, instructs and pushes the kids with constant positivity, but also accountability. It’s not just about the physical aspect, it’s about leadership and life skills. They have continued to teach and overcome obstacles during this pandemic to keep our kids engaged. The kids always come first. Highly recommend!

We LOVE everything about Satori! The instructors, management, the cleanliness of the dojo, the ability to adapt through this pandemic, the communication, the lessons they teach my kids (not only about karate, but also how to be a courteous and respectable person) - the list is endless! My 7 year old son has been attending Satori for over a year now. He has progressed socially and academically since he joined last year and I attribute this to Karate. He’s built great relationships with the same instructors he’s had since Day One. Highly recommend!! We have been here for 5 months and each time we come, we see more positives than the time before. Our son loves each class and has improved in so many areas especially focus and motivation. We especially love the instructors. All are motivating, caring, positive and dedicated to martial arts and the children. This is a very well-run school and we cannot say enough good things about it. Sempai Kally works exceptionally well with the children. He makes it a point to get to know each child personally and our son adores him!

My five year old daughter has been learning Karate at Satori since September 2019. We are impressed with her physical progress in balance, strength, and coordination. The mindfulness and life skills part of the curriculum are also remarkable. We have seen her grow in confidence and love that seeds are being planted in her mind to be kind, humble, respectful and protective of her personal boundaries. Of all the extra curricular activities programs we could have enrolled her in, we are happy with our choice at Satori for teaching fitness and personal growth skills that she can participate in throughout her life. The instructors are patient, always age appropriate in their approach, and clearly love what they do. It is impossible for the students not to enjoy themselves when the instructors are so enthusiastic. My spouse has also started the program he has benefitted from all of the same aspects on an adult level. The camaraderie of the instructors and students has been a joy to hear about whenever he comes home from a class.

My wife and I searched high and low for a suitable martial arts program before we settled on Satori. Satori stands out among all others. They hav very dedicated instructors that truly care about their students. You can feel this sentiment each and every class. Our boys look forward to class every week and are highly motivated to attend. We highly recommend Satori.

Great place for martial arts. Both my kids are students and they love coming to learn and have fun. The instructors and staff are all great and really work with the students and get them engaged. There is also BJJ and my kid really like the program and are looking forward to getting better. Its a great workout for them and there is no standing around. Two thumbs up from the parents!👍👍👊

My 6 year old son has been training here for a year and a half and overall we really enjoy the program. The instructors are encouraging and engaging with the kids and provide a safe, clean, and positive atmosphere. The school also does an excellent job communicating with the parents regarding class schedules, special events, and community activities. We love Satori!

Satori is awesome! I’ve been coming here to the teen/adult classes since November and I couldn’t love it more. I come six days a week. It is so fun and great exercise. If you want to do karate, this is the place to go.

My 4 year old has been attending karate classes here for a few months. She came into karate with no background in any martial arts (she has done various sports and dance) so we had very little idea what exactly to expect. Thus far, I am impressed with all the instructors (and assistants). They have been very patient and helpful. The program and teaching techniques keep a 4yo more engaged than I would have thought possible. They also strive to make it a family involved environment. Definitely recommend.

I do not consider Satori a karate school, I consider them our Karate family. My son started training 3yrs ago, he continues to train there as well as myself and my daughter. I have nothing but High praise for every person at Satori. This is a great institute for multiple disciplines. I used to train years ago so it was difficult for me to choose a school for my son to train with since i was very meticulous in the reviews and very specific on what i was expecting for my son. I made the BEST CHOICE with Satori Academy in Edison,NJ. They are very good with children and Parents even when we can be a pest ( i know i am). My son is 4 yrs old and now so much more confident in everything he does. his awareness is amazing now and has been a huge help with other sports like baseball and soccer. We love Satori academy and feel like family there. Worth every penny but just like anything else training starts and ends at home. Thank you to Renshi Nancy and Sempais Kali, Megan, MJ, Abbi for taking such a caring approach with my son and Sensei Marino for not being soft with my Son. We researched many local area martial arts schools before deciding on Satori Academy in Edison. We couldnt be happier with our choice! The instructors are excellent and work very well with young children. There are several class offerings to choose from each week - for most classes a time is offered every day. As a busy mom this opportunity for flexibility in schedule is invaluable. From a parents point of view the school is top notch! From my 6 year olds sons point of view, Karate is awesome! !!

Great school but super expensive there are plenty of schools that offer a cheaper price. You can have a great experience for much cheaper that’s what I think. If you want more customers lower the price and interest them. Why would you charge for board breaking if we’re already paying 160 a month that’s absurd!!!!!! you guys are very greedy for money I understand it’s a business but I think you guys took it too far! I’m actually quitting this place soon because I cannot afford it!!

This is one of the best class my toddler has been in. Teaches her disciple, being strong and confident while having lots of fun. All the instructions are awesome and have patience to deal with 3 and 4 years old. I would definitely recommend satori to anyy interested.

My sister-in-law won a free birthday party from this place. No wonder they have to give away parties.Knowing there would be toddlers, she asked in advance if that would be a problem. She was told, no, they can just run around. This is NOT true.The kids that were old enough to follow orders were being led through exercises like jumping jacks and laying on the floor like dead bugs. The guy was doing his best to do this enthusiastically but you can tell they are not comfortable with children.My 2 and a half year old hit the mat and started to run and play. Another guy ordered my wife to hold on to him so he couldnt run around. Thus, making this place completely full of it that toddlers are okay. They couldnt even black a section off for toddlers to run free.So...it being pointless for us to be there, we left. I plan on enrolling him in classes when he is older but now i know to avoid this joke of a school and will spread the word to friends and family that Satori is full of it and not worth a dime, since they have to lie just to get people in the door.

The best martial arts school! My son has been at Satori since it opened and I attribute much of his confidence and success at age 16 to his years of martial arts training. The instructors are outstanding and I cant recommend them highly enough!

I highly recommend Satori Academy of Martial Arts in Edison. Signed my daughter up 5 years ago because I wanted her to know how to defend herself, she fell in love and is about to become a Jr Black Belt. She has more confidence and self displain than ever and helps teach the younger students. The instructors are top notch and she has gained so many friends from all around town.

This is my son’s first year and first day at Satori and He is really enjoyiibf this. The masters are very energetic and very patient with the children. I love how it seems to be more fun and games to the children but in reality they building confidence and skills within these children.

I hope that there is a choice for zero star. This is a terrible place. You send you kids there to learn how to fight bully. However, the coach (the owner sometime coaches) is a bully himself. He is rude, inconsiderate and incapable to treat all kids fairly. Also, be careful that they might overcharge you. When this happens, they have million excuses to refuse to give your money back. A terrible place. Stay away from them.

This is not a place when you want to cancel. They dont note down anything in the computer and the answers they give to clients depend on the person and it keeps changing. When I enrolled for a private class and said that I might cancel after 3 months and got it written on the agreement they said ok. When I tried to cancel , they just took the money. I wasted one month money (paid more than regular class bcoz its private) without even attending the class. For private class, they just took for 15 minutes and said my kid was not focusing more than that. Half of the time, there will be no space for the private class.

This institution is badly run, with an owner that is abrasive and unhelpful. I spent three weeks being sent back in forth between offices being told I would get at least one month refunded to me, after three weeks being thrown back and forth between offices I am finally told that I cannot get my money refunded. I called the owner after the second week of not hearing anything from the East Brunswick office, where they told me they would contact Renshi Nancy to talk about me canceling and she had no knowledge of my situation. She was rude on the phone and told me I would be contacted later on the day by someone from the East Brunswick office, I heard nothing. After going to the office to find out why I didn’t hear anything back from them, I was told Renshi Nancy never called them. A few days later I called again, and I was told by a staff member in the Edison office that she would call me back. Once again I heard nothing. That is an awful way of running a business, I should not have to be calling and going to the school itself to get a response. There were multiple occasions where I was told I would be receiving a phone call from a member of the Satori team and they never came. This is a badly run school, run by individuals who only care about getting your money. They will force you to buy gear from their school even if you already have gear just to get more money from you. There is only one adult/teen class slot a day which makes it very difficult to go to class, the adult/teen class is mostly teenagers. It is honestly not worth the money. This is the place for you if you are a kid and never plan on canceling your membership, otherwise I would pick another martial arts school and save yourself the headache.
