I had made an appointment to color my hair two weeks ahead. I showed up at the salon , they told me ,We are sorry they student did not show up ..what a crazy response. They called half an hour to let me know . Very bad services not professional at all .

I had a facial by Madison F. it was wonderful! She was very calming and soothing while healing my skin. Extractions were thorough but not painful. She seems to really know what she’s doing and also care about the client. I will definitely be back!

I am so upset, a student at Bellus academy destroyed my hair. I asked to have an inch cut off my hair and highlights to brighten my already blonde hair. The incompetent girl cut my length to where the teacher told her my long layers would have been (I no longer even have layers). The color is now brassy orange with a tiny bit of blonde. I could go on, but it makes me sick to my stomach when I think about my hair. I just wanted to post a review and maybe I someone can learn from terrible mistake (ಥ﹏ಥ)

I have never been one to treat myself, but now I am going to be on a regular basis all thanks to Aviana! I let all the stress melt away when I go in to see her, she is so gentle and makes sure you are comfortable the whole time. I feel flawless and ready to take on the world every time I leave. These girls know what they are doing!! Thank-you so much!

This place continues to impress me every time. I was a facial demo for Mrs Dora and she did incredible work and she really engaged her students. They love her as a teacher. I also had my lashes done just now by Danitza and they look amazing!!! She did an oxygen facial as well which was great but By far best eyelash extensions I’ve ever had!!!! The campus is beautiful and if I lived in California I would definitely join the program. I can’t even believe how happy this place makes me!!!

I Love this beauty school. I come here regularly for my hair and facials. I love the back facial as well which is so soothing. And the pumpkin peel is nicely scented and does give my skin a clean, renewed touch. And I usually buy the VIP packet which is superb in value. Great service and value.

This place is amazing! Ive been coming here for years. Samantha was great! She was really friendly and we talked just about the whole time I got my hair done. My husband and myself both came in to get our hair colored and cut. It was his first time getting his hair done not at a barber. They did a great job. He got a color job Matthew Straddling to blend grey with his natural color and looked like he didnt get it died but like he had a great new shirt on. Could not tell but improved overall appearance. Great job always. I have been coming here for a while now. Come check it out and guys dont be afraid to come and ditch your barber for a good cut color style. I also got a great job with some funky highlights from Micah fun and funky. They always have new techniques and products so you can get something new and not same old!

Ophelia Castro was great. She worked her butt off, along with Kat to make sure that my color was perfect. Nice vibe at this.school as compared to another school in my town. The students.are knowledgeable and instructors are hands on. I have had positive experiences here and would recommend the salon services to anyone.

All the students are very sweet. I always enjoy each and every appointment. The only reason Im giving a 3 star review is because the business could use a good cleaning. The bathrooms especially. Im not sure if theres a cleaning crew that comes through or not but it could really use a scrubbing. I would give this business a 5 star review if it was kept cleaner. I really do love all the sweet students.

Ive been going to see Paloma Nunez since she started at Bellus. Even our first visit was an experience of relaxation and education. She really took the time to consider my daily skin care routine and how to enhance it with monthly treatments. Not to mention her massage was extremely relaxing and allowed me to forget the stressful week Ive had at college studying for finals. I appreciate her kind words and the comfort that she expressed towards me. I highly recommend Paloma to anyone who is going for their first facial to even the most experienced spa goer.

I had an awesome experience here at Bellus Academy! The girls were so polite, friendly, and really knew what they were doing. It was better than any other salon I had been to previously! Katerina Russ gave me a cut and color and was very considerate, patient, and was better than the professionals Ive been to before! I highly recommend her. I have never been more relaxed than here at Bellus but Katerina kept very professional and walked me through the entire process and kept me very calm. I love Bellus because the environment is welcoming and professional. Ive had my hair cut, colored, and lightened and have never been disappointed. The educators overseeing the students are watching consistently so I dont have to worry about whether someone is really screwing up or not. Ive always left Bellus happy, especially this campus and its thanks to the talent and skill running this place.

I had the best experience at Bellus Academy with Ariana Jimenez. She was amazing!! She went above and beyond fixing my messed up haircut and giving me an amazing do! She took her time and was very sweet. I would recommend going to visit her! I will definitely go back and see her again.

Samantha McDonald has done my hair numerous times and I absolutely love it! Ive never tried anything different, but decided to give it a try and it turns out so good every time. I always get so many compliments! My hair has blonde in it and all other salons it would turn orange and it never has with Samantha. She takes her time and ensures she clearly understands your requests, and she is very gentle every time. I would definitely recommend her to anyone, especially those who want any color done.

Today, Ive had the pleasure of getting my extremely long hair colored and cut by the lovely Angele. Having a stylist who has bad ass looking hair herself really helps put me at ease seeing that she goes through the same process as me! Great attitude and very helpful! I’ve tried a few other schools and this is by far the best one. They listen to what you want, and have no problem asking for help if they’re not sure just to make sure you get exactly what you’re coming in for. They are the most professional and really care about doing a great job!

Two stars because the salon side had a horrible experience because of the staff!!! Not the service, and also had a spa treatment that was nice. But one star for the RUDE and CONDESCENDING instructor. The hair instructor was not only rude to ME, but she was rude to the student. To the point where I had to encourage the student after the way she was talked down and belittled for not answering her questions correctly. Then the instructor was loudly gossiping and very friendly and switched on a dime and was rude AGAIN. Not very positive atmosphere, the instructor seemed very young, immature and arrogant. I will not be going back because of that. I dont go to salons to be witness to, and myself be VICTIMIZED by an instructor.One example of many: at 1 point I asked to have my hair dried a specific way and the instructor freaked out at myself and the student. Even though it is a school, excellent customer service is still a MUST HAVE. After all the drama, I left and my hair was still wet!I left feeling disrespected and that the customer is always WRONG and I felt bad for the students at the salon side.

I came in today for facial and hair treatment, loved the service and will definitely come back. They use great products. It takes longer for the service but well worth the price, instructor is nice and informative

I am a Cosmo night student and went in and got a stress reduction back facial by Paloma Nunez. It was so incredible! She made me feel so comfortable and so relaxed. She really took her time and made sure every step of the way that I was satisfied and most of all relaxed. Even after the facial she brought me hot green tea and let me take my time getting up. I highly recommend her! If youre looking for someone who really cares and puts a lot of effort into her work, this is the woman to go to! Thank you so much again Paloma!

I am a current student at Bellus Academy El Cajon , being here for a whole year has been a really good experience. The teachers are really great , theyre fast to adapt to. Also, they are there when you need help . Coming to a school that cost alot and getting exactly what your paying for is a plus ... the education thats provided is well taught. I have enjoyed my full year being here even though there was times when i lost motivation.

This was one of the best experience Ive had getting my hair done - in years! My stylist, Madison Bryson was so supportive in listening to my thoughts and suggesting techniques that would work well for my hair and lifestyle. She didnt waste time or energy telling me about her dog, but focused on her art. She was terrific! Great experience overall!

Id give it 4.5 stars. Overall I have had good experiences with this beauty school. enough so that I have been going for about 2 years. I have to go every 2-3 weeks for a tint touch up. I have had cuts, and other hair color treatments too. Granted a few sometimes, if it does work out, they do a do over for FREE but is the time that is a challenge. There was one instructor I just LOVED, Jeffrey but a year ago, he left. The two instructors there are OK..for the most part they stay on top of the students and instruct but a couple times, things did not go well. They also have do facials which were great! A real deal..they have monthly specials which is great too.

Ive gotten my hair cut and colored at different beauty schools but I can honestly say that my experience here was the best one. Kathleen Drewry and her assistant Ashley Carey were both very helpful, professional, and personable.. They made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. I came in for a hair cut, the instructor was assume always checking to see if she was doing it correctly. She also asked for help when needed .. I also wanted to dye my hair and they suggested that I should have my hair lightened which I said yes to. Now I love my hair and it come out perfect .. I will becoming back soon..

I love coming to Bellus Academy! Kara is fantastic. She showed me a new way to color my hair and even after finishing my cut and color, took time to show me different ways to style. Everyone here is so friendly and its great to see all the students willing to help each other.

Im a current student at Bellus academy and I have to say that this school truly cares about student success and I would highly recommended anyone interest in attending a Cosmo school that they a choose this. Not only do they prep you for state board they also take time to teach you how to actually do hair!!! The environment is a plus! I have never been in such positive environment.I have also gotten services done here in the evening and the STUDENT are very professional and know what they are doing when in come to services!!! I would definitely recommend this location to my friends and family !!!

Since I walked in, my stylist Jocelyne Mancera was waiting for me with a big smile. I got round brush and a pedicure. Camille did a great job on my layered haircut. I started out with my hair thinning and started coming out in my brush.The teachers were very informative about their products to help my hair repair itself. Today was the first day my hair showed some body and curls! All dead ends gone and today I am a Happy Camper :)

Ive never liked getting my haircut because my hair has always been difficult to style. But Jessica Mooney helped me find a great style that worked for me. Because they are students, they really take the time to make sure they get everything right. I always leave satisfied with my cut.

Mynal is the best person to go to if you want your eyebrows done. She does such an amazing job, she takes her time, is very articulate and precise. She will even teach you how to color them in! Shes very friendly, as is all the staff, and is very knowledgeable when it comes to what ingredients t use and not use for anything.

Jenny gave me an awesome facial. Her technique was outstanding. Bellus Academy consistently delivers high quality without the high cost.

I worked with Matt, who was very patient and pleasant. The instructors also come across as quite pleasant and available to the students. Overall, a positive experience that Id happily recommend.

The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable, they also have great deals on services and products. My stylist was a little shy to use the round brush, but she took her time with the cut and did a good job. I will come by again!

I am an Esthetician. I attended Bellus Academy and I have been getting my hair cut at Bellus for years. I got my haircut last week by Liz Gonzalez. She was very friendly and I felt very comfortable because she kept the conversation going and made me laugh. She was very confident in cutting my long curly hair and really listened to me and made sure not to cut my hair too short. Awesome job Liz! You will go far in this business.

I had a facial and microdermabrasion treatment with Karlie today and it was a very relaxing experience, Karlie was professional and did such a great job! I’m very critical of skin and with just one treatment my skin is more radiant and smooth.

I used to look forward to my haircuts at Bellus Academy, El Cajon. But several months ago, the quality of the work dropped dramatically. Its not the students, however, but an instructor known as Ms. G. Two cuts ago required a follow up cut to dramatically shorten my hair (but it was hot and about time for a change); and I decided to try them one more time yesterday. Again, their cut was not what I asked for. The student understood what I asked for and I believe left to her own devices would have been fine, but followed what the instructor told her to do, which destroyed the balance of my cut. Not good. Its being fixed today at another shop. If I decide to return in the future, Ill make sure to schedule on a day/time when Ms. G is not the supervising instructor on the floor.

Katerina Russ is a fantastic stylist. She is concerned about the clients comfort. She is friendly and knowledgeable. The Belus Academy is a cut above other schools of beauty. I would highly recommend their services.

Ive been to Bellus 2 times now. The first time was with student named Ofelia Castro. She was great! I got a shampoo, condition, blow dry & straighten, after my hair has been in a sew in weave for 3 months. And I have very thick curly hair. Ofelia handled it gently and the end result was clean, silky, & fabulous! She did a wonderful job.The second time I went I had a student named Kathleen Drewry. This time it was a little later so I preped my hair, so I only got a straighten. Kathleen did amazing as well. It was her first time straightening a black persons hair & it was a success! She got all the way to my frizzy roots and did not burn me once.. oh and she is amazing at braiding. I would definitely go back to both of these ladies!Bellus is always clean & professional

I think Bellus Academy is an awesome school. I like the fact that the teachers are very helpful and I like that they prepare us for stateboard. I recommends this school to anyone that wants to go to cosmetology school.

I took my mom in for a fresh look for the New Year and Im so pleased that we chose Bellus!! We were welcomed with smiles right away by a super friendly front desk girl. The school is very clean and has a very professional set up and atmosphere..... My mom wasnt too sure with what she wanted but with help from her fabulous stylist Kathleen Drewery she decided on a reverse balayage which turned out amazing :) The colors blended beautifully with her natural hair. My mom left feeling like a movie star!!
