My daughter is doing great at school. She has become a very confident, friendly, outgoing, her math knowledge has increased. Discipline is strongly encouraged, which I really like. Staff and alumni care for the well-being of my child. Staff knows my daughters name, my sons name, our family. They listen to our concerns and follow up.

This school is whack. the teachers are always either leaving or getting fired because the administration sucks. as you can see some of the students here have been leaving as well because their parents want their kids to pass the staar. the rules are over rated as well you have to have quiet time at lunch, you get self reflection plans(srp) if you do a small thing out of order and the lunch is bad.the only good thing about this school is that its kind of like an early college with only one major... engineering. you can get an associates degree which only leaves two years of college left. overall no this school only has one highlight. I love school, just not this one.

Im a parent and I have also observed that the school does convey that it aims high, but my experience is that some of the teachers fall short, while others have done an excellent job. There are a couple of teachers that punish the students because they cant maintain control of the class. However, Im also a former teacher and I can tell you those problems exist in almost any school (public, charter, or private). I have been pleased with the quality of education that my children have been receiving. One huge benefit of children going to a charter school of this size is that it is a smaller community, so its easier for the parents to get to know each other. Communication with the parents of your childs friends is very important. What I dont understand is why neither DaVinci or Howard Burnham (the elementary school that feeds DaVinci) teach handwriting. So another reviewer is exactly right in suggesting taking advanced courses at Franklin might be a better option. However, I (as a parent) like the smaller environment where I know my childrens friends and their parents.

The food wasnt great, and the staff was always spotty, but the programs and the education I recived was most deffineately top notch, the enviroment shelters kids from the drugs and gang violence, and the staff are very friendly and personable. maybe not the most fun place, but educationally stumulating

Inconsistent staff constantly changing/being fired/leaving, very frequent periods of time without teachers or a consistent substitute, terrible enforcement of rules and standards, no soap in the mens bathrooms (ever), very shifty allocation of funds, etc. The most wholly apathetic high school student body Ive ever seen. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE
