I just had my very first horseback riding lesson at Appleton Equestrian. It was a blast. My instructor, Emma, explained everything clearly and patiently. Blooper, my trainer horse has such a calm, gentle disposition. What a wonderful experience!The owner, Juli, is great keeping up with the correspondence in getting a lesson and futureones set-up.I intend to continue doing more lessons at Appleton Equestrian 🙌

We recently started lessons at Appleton Equestrian. Juli (Owner) and Anna (Trainer) are amazing. Juli is great with communication and scheduling. Anna is such a patient, encouraging, and kind trainer. The Barn is well maintained and the horses are beautiful. We cant say enough about the progress and confidence E has gained and she is excited to learn more skills. Thanks for all you do to make us feel at home at the Barn.

My kids enjoyed riding with Appleton so much. They’re very patient with my kids as well. Will definitely bring my third one here when he gets 3 years old. Lol.

I recently started riding again at Appleton after not having ridden for over 3 years. I am having a great time getting back into riding! Juli and everyone else around the barn have been really nice and helpful, and the lessons Ive taken with some of Julis working students have all been great! Ive definitely felt and seen improvements in the couple of months Ive been back riding, and have had a lot of fun doing so, thanks to the great teachers and lesson horses. Ive always had a very positive experience at Appleton Equestrian. Very professional, clean, fun and productive environment. I highly recommend Appleton to riders of all levels. Prices are reasonable and everything is of high quality from the barn to the lessons. Definitely my favorite barn in the area. 5 stars.

My 5-year-old daughter took her first riding lesson here, and we planned for a package since my daughter loves horses very much. However, the first lesson ended with sadness. I have to say the instructor may be a lack of experience and skill in educating and controlling the horse.When we arrived the there, let them know who we are, and we had an appointment. A little weird feeling: we just hurried straight ahead to the field, the instructor barely introduced her or the contents of the first lesson. It seems that she didnt prepare our arrival, as I had a feeling that she may be a lack of skill or confidence to control the horse. But I didnt think too much, given of the highly rated reviews.The lesson was smooth for the first 15-20 mins until the accident happened. The horse suddenly totally lost control, my daughters fell on the ground with her back and head back from the 5 ft high horse back. I was so scared of some bad results. Fortunately, my daughter seemed fine. Because of COVID-19, I didnt bring her to the hospital for further inspection. Hopefully, there was no back or head injuries. What I cant accept is that the owner came without check if my daughter was ok and just blamed the wind for this accident. I dont know horse very much, but I knew safety is the priority.Likewise, I dont want to expose the instructors name, she doesnt want this happens as well. But for the owner of Appleton Equestrian: if you really think the weather may cause the horse loss control, please advise first, especially for the young first-time rider!!

Appleton Equestrian has a nice, clean, friendly atmosphere. My daughter and I love everything about this barn and have been coming here for several years. It’s drama free which is the biggest plus. The horses that are used for lessons are completely safe and the owner Julie is just an amazing human being. You truly learn the fundamentals of why you are asking the horse do something and not just sitting in the saddle .

Juli and her team are amazing! This was my daughters second lesson and we love this place. Everyone is so kind and they really took the time to explain what they were doing. My 2 year old is learning so much and she cant wait to go back for her next lesson.

I have been boarding here for 2 years, taking lessons, and beginning to teach. It is truly its own community of welcoming and friendly equestrians. Juli is a fantastic coach and has helped my horse and I reach goals I thought we were far from obtaining. She hosts several shows a year, brings in clinicians, and has wonderful camps. For those who only take lessons she has several wonderful horses and truly aims to keep her event team pleased with fun new additions to the farm. Additionally she is right next to Fairhill so you can ride across the road and enjoy thousands of acres of fun trails!

My daughter loves this farm for summer camp. Weve come back every summer for 5 years. Friendly counselors, great horses. I keep thinking shell get bored and want to try another camp but it hasnt happened yet! Thank you Julie and the Appleton Team for making my daughters summer.

I have been riding for at least 15 years and I chose Appleton because Juli is a very knowledgeable horsewoman who competes at an advanced level. She knows dressage, show jumping and cross country and will share what she knows to help your equitation. There isnt barn drama which is a plus. There are clinics, camps and trail rides for the students. The horses go from beginner to more advanced to help the rider learn and grow.

I love Appleton. Everyone has such a positive attitude!

I have been riding at Appleton for 4 years now! I can honestly say that it is like another home to me and I consider everyone there my second family. It is such a warm and welcoming place that I recommend everyone to go to. Juli and all of the instructors there are amazing and will really help your riding!

Juli is the best! She takes incredible care of all the horses on site. She tailors her lessons to each rider and really cares about her students progress. There is a variety of great lessons horses and the barn is right next to Fair Hill! Doesn’t get much better. :)

Lovely stables! I had a terrific instructor for a private lesson. Very professional, enthusiastic, and informative. Ive been wanting to learn how to ride a posting trot for along time. So, at 49, I finally decided to take some private lessons. My instructor was excellent at pointing out what I needed to know without overwhelming me. Happily, my horse was extremely patient with someone who obviously didnt know what she was doing😊. Had a great time!

My son loved his first riding lesson! We will be signing up for a package and he cant wait to get back on a horse. The staff was very welcoming, all horses looked well taken care of which is important to us.

I love Appleton so much and I have gone to other barns and this this one is the best I love all the horses and the cats are so cute 😍 I love the camp and I cant say enough good things if you are going to go any stable this one is the best! It might be alittle expensive but its definitely worth it!

Juli is a talented and knowledgeable instructor who caters to all levels of riding. I feel like I progress so much in each lesson because she is patient and has a very clear way of explaining techniques. She is also AMAZING at shows. Juli soothes your nerves and tweaks your performance so you succeed. Her facility is well equipped, in an excellent location for local shows and trail rides, and her barn fosters communal spirit and fun. Highly recommend for anyone at any level of riding!

Appleton Equestrian has been a great place for my granddaughter. The trainers are friendly and caring, yet help her to build her skills at a safe and comfortable pace. They offer a diverse group of ponies and horses for training. Great place!

Our 8 year old son recently completed a 4 day summer camp. He had no prior horse experience and by the end of the week he was walking the horse out of the barn all by himself! The staff did an excellent job of teaching him the basics and he couldnt wait to tell us all about it at the end of each day. He is very excited to start lessons in the fall! Thank you Appleton Equestrian staff for making his experience a fantastic one!

As a boarder I really enjoy all the benefits of being at Appleton. Direct access to fair hill, two rings to choose from, a field full of xc jumps....what more could you ask for!

I have been riding at Appleton Equestrian now for 5 months and I have accomplished more in the 5 months with Juli than I ever have. Never would I have thought that I would be out XC schooling...let alone competing in my first ever event! The amount of energy and passion that Juli has is seriously contagious. I have been riding at Appleton Equestrian for about a month now. I had been out of the eventing world for 9 years and when I found out about the Event team I had to join. Juli Hutchings is such a great trainer and person I didnt think that I would improve as fast as I have in just one month. Juli is starting to help me get my 19 year old mare Klassy Kay back into shape after some down time too. The facilities are clean, the people are nice, and I love the one site cross country course. The location is perfect and the private entrance to Fair Hill is such a bonus too. Im so happy to be apart of the Appleton Equestrian family.

It has been about 2 months since I started riding at Appleton Equestrian(AE) after a long hiatus from riding/showing. AE offers a few programs that help make it possible for people, like me, with no horse, to be able to ride, take lesson and show. Juli & Ian have created a very welcoming, safe & clean atmosphere which is one of the things I love about the farm. I also love my weekly lessons with Juli! She is knowledgeable, honest, professional and enthusiastic about sharing her passion.
