Very attentive and patient, kind and accommodating. So far Ive had 3 hair cuts & I am really happy with how they are helping me find my style after growing my hair out/no styling or salon cuts for 5 years.Now I have an asymmetrical angled layered bob with a stylish and light undercut. Its classic with a little edge. My hair looks and feels nice & I felt very attended to by both my stylist and her instructor.I have also had the scalp treatment here before, which if you have any funk with your scalp or buildup from hard water, its what you need!Also cant beat the price! Even +$4 tip is still under $15 for a cut, wash & style.The appointments are longer than a typical appointment, remember they are students & check in with the instructors for the best quality. Worth the time.

Ive been here 3 times now and everytime I leave feeling beautiful and its made ever better by the fact that I know Ive saved some money. All the students Ive worked with have been very kind and extremely thorough. I will continue going here for all my hair needs.

I was asked about the rating. Its 4 because they did their best. No, the products and flat irons they use are not designed for Afro-centric hair which is why mine is still so poofy and dull. However, they did their best with what they had and were very nice. I have a broken hand and they made dealing with my hair much easier for me. They also didnt kick me out when they saw how much hair they had to deal with like some shops do or try to wing it and see what happens either.

I had a facial and I was absolutely blown away by the service. The nicest young woman but I don’t remember her name. I was going to go back and get my lashes done but I had to had out of town early the following day. What a quality experience and I would definitely return!!!

I have long, way-too-much hair, and feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck with me. That said, I have now had two perms from students at the beauty academy who rose to the challenge superbly! The two most excellent perms (and by far least expensive!) in 50 years of perms. My Cousin-It hair has been conquered at last, and the owner, Teresa, who supervises all her students closely, is a lovely lady who deserves kudos!

Love this place! Brought my daughter in for a fun hair/nail day & I have to say- I destroyed my daughter’s hair with a semi permanent color & it looked terrible! I was able to make a next day appointment & she had her nails done first- fantastic job. Beautiful. Very attentive student who was amazing in personality & amazing in skill. When we were ready for her hair I was a bit worried. They seemed a tad concerned with what I personally did to her hair but devised a plan & made her hair ten times better than I even expected! It was beautiful! I’m so grateful that I brought her in here & for the price on everything, including 3 hair products- well under $200. I think that it was about $140. You cannot beat that for perfection. If I had taken her to our typical salon, it would have been closer to $350 or more for everything that we had done plus products.There’s no need to worry about mistakes although we dealt with none. There’s always the instructor on site to be sure that you get what you ask for. These are obviously students but was amazed while we were in most or the day, watching all of the different heads getting worked on & the amazing outcomes. Really love this place. I’ve had a facial there & it was to die for. My friend brought me along for a BOGO. Keep your eye on their Facebook page. They always have some deals going on. If not FREE!

I was a cosmetology student at Bluestone and I have no regrets whatsoever. The instructors are well-versed in the latest techniques and the school provided a positive, fun environment. My education gave me all the tools I needed to start a career in what can be a daunting industry. If youre shopping for a low-drama, high-quality beauty school, this is the one for you!

I’m not a big review writer but, if I really love something I have to. Just got a balayage there and I’m loving it more everyday! I’ve gone here twice for this and both times were the best balayges I’ve ever had, and waaaaaay cheaper too.

Bluestone Academy of Massage was a genuinely fun place to start my career as a License Massage Practitioner. The staff and teachers did their best to make me feel comfortable and happy for the eleventh months I was in school. From January to December I had more information stuffed into my brain than I thought would be possible, and by the time the program was done I was dreaming in massage facts.There is a small class (mine was only eight people) and that made it very nice for getting to know my fellow students and having one on one help from the teachers. The program being at night on weekdays allowed me to work almost full time while I was in school. Nice perk. The school also exposed me to modalities of massage I might not have ever tried that I now love and implement every day.I had only one problem over all. When I started the course I was led to believe I would only be going to school three days a week and a few weekends here and there for extra classes. That is true, for the first four months, then you slowly begin adding days and by mid summer you are in school about 6 days a week with a few weekends off. Since class on the weekdays is an evening class this wasnt really a problem but it wasnt what I was expecting. This could have totally been me and I could have misunderstood.That being said, this is a good program but, not an easy one. Lots of studying and lots of memorizing but there is also lots of massage! Believe me you will go through massage withdrawals when you finish. I would definitely recommend Bluestone Academy of Massage for new students and for LMPs looking for continuing education.

The end result was much, much better than I expected. I brought in a picture, the instructor looked at it and gave a few starting tips to the student on how best to match the cut, then set her loose until it was done. My hair turned out exactly like my sample picture, which was a delightful surprise, and Ive gotten several people coming up to me to say they like my haircut. Best of all, it only cost 7 dollars. If you go here expecting an average student-given haircut, youll be more than pleased.

AMAZING!! for 7 dollars I was able to completely change my look and the girl doing it couldnt have been more professional. Cait is an awesome hair dresser and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a cut. She asked questions when she wasnt sure how to do something and asked me questions during the cut to make sure I was happy with it. She styled my hair and showed me how to do it at home if I wanted too and my hair was even curled the next day after sleeping on it. Highly recommend this place and if you can, ask for Cait!

I have been both a student and a teacher at BAOM. I started my journey as a kinesiology student at WSU. After graduating I searched for something that I would enjoy. Massage became just that thing. World class faculty and a world class curriculum led me to choose BAOM over other potential massage schools. I have never regretted that decision. Tim Barlen asked me to come back and teach the kinesiology program upon my graduation and I was delighted. With 4 years experience now teaching I can honestly say it is one of the best experiences I have had in my life. I love this school, I love the students who choose to come here, and I look forward to seeing many more come through the doors. If you are thinking of taking the journey to become a massage therapist, choose BAOM. Dont choose it because I will be there, choose it because we prepare you for the real massage world. No school I know of offers a better curriculum.
