My Wife switched my so from YMCA after school program to Scottys and It was the best decision ever made.Great, Friendly and Professional Staff, i like the fact that the staff spends time talking, reading, watching movies and doing activities with the kids. I love the school like atmosphere, very pleasant. My son is much happier.I look forward to continuing the after school program with Scottys for years to come..Highly Recommend to anyone, who is looking for a safe and family friendly environment for their kids.Scottys keep up the good work!!

My son has been at Scottys Kiddie Korner since he was 1 and now hes in the latch key program for school age kids. Ive always felt very safe dropping him off at Scottys. I knew his needs would be met but more importantly I knew the teachers really cared about him. They have seen him through many transitions. They always offer a hug, wipe a tear or give him the appropriate discipline he needs to help him grow. I know they really care about my child and that kind of peace of mind is priceless.-Pamela Johnson (Ellington)

We want to thank all at Scottys Kiddy Korner for all you have done for Fiona in the six years she has been with Scottys. We knew we picked the right place the minute we stepped through the red door! You have been absolutely wonderful. We love the environment, the structure of activities, discipline and learning, and especially the teachers. They are all very warm, friendly, caring and extremely patient. WE have always felt they love the kids as much as we do. We just feel that now is the right time for Fiona to start a new adventure.

Scottys Kiddy Korner is a nice place to send your children, if you are looking for average care. They maintain a very clean and safe environment, however the policies and schedules are very strict, and do not allow for much freedom or creativity for the children to express. The approach from the directors and teachers is very quantitative regarding the care of the children, meaning that they are very concerned with simply getting more work done, while putting little attention on the quality of the care given to each child. To ensure that your children grow up to be the best people they can be, I recommend staying at home with them, or hiring a babysitter or nanny, or if possible find a daycare center with a more relaxed atmosphere, rather than bringing them to Scottys. Children need attentive and qualitative care, which most effectively comes from one-on-one learning and play experiences with an adult. This type of care is simply not possibly at Scottys due to the rigorously high expectations that are placed on the staff members to:1) change diapers faster instead of more thoroughly,2) wash the dishes quickly instead of actually cleaning them well,3) get the children to listen to you by yelling over them instead of compassionately interacting with each child,...I could go on and on. My point remains; at Scottys, quantity is clearly more important than quality, which should not be the case in any child care facility. Also, if you send your children to Scottys, there is no guarantee that they will be given the necessary opportunities to learn discipline and respect. New staff members come and go through such a large revolving door that the children often times dont have a chance to get to know a particular teacher well enough to recognize and submit to their authority, before said teacher has been hastily replaced. This is because the directors constantly introduce new team members, then fail to give them the time needed to establish enough of a relationship with the children to do the job well, before firing them because they didnt do the job well. It takes time and patience for a child to learn to respect someone new. And at Scottys there is almost always one or more new person. Therefore, there will always be at least one staff member that any given child wont have respect for and wont listen to. Consequently, the children are unintentionally being taught that they dont have to respect and listen to any given adult. Your child may come home thinking that he or she can get away with not respecting or listening to you. If thats how you want your children to be taught and brought up, then enroll today!

My daughter has been attending Scottys since she was 3 weeks old. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Her progress both socially and educationally couldnt be better. I have no doubt that Scottys will make her transition from Pre K to Kindergarten as smooth as any parent could ask for. Thank you to the awesome teachers and staff at Scottys.

When I first brought my son to Scotty’s, he was five weeks old. Even though I visited multiple times to ensure I was comfortable with the staff, I was terrified to leave him essentially with strangers. Only, the staff became more like family. Those first weeks, I would call a few times a day to check in on him and Anna would give me his full report. She was so friendly each time I called and I felt that he was in such good hands. When my son moved out of the infant room, I was tearful again that he was moving to a new room with new teachers. At Scotty’s, they help to transition the children slowly and bring them to the next room with their new teachers so my son was well-accustomed already. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my son was transitioned to the preschool room prior to her birth to help alleviate all the changes that were going to occur after she was born.My daughter started Scotty’s when she was eight weeks old. When she began, teachers brought my son to visit her throughout the day. It was very sweet that they spent time together even when my husband and I were not there. Now that my son graduated from Scotty’s pre-K and is in kindergarten I am sure that this was the best place to send my children. Being a teacher myself, I feel that curriculum is important; each day the children should feel challenged and successful and they are. My son was ready for kindergarten even though he is young for his age. My daughter still attends Scotty’s and will graduate pre-K next year.My husband and I highly recommend Scotty’s Kiddy Korner as a place to send your children.

TL;DR: Our boy was punched in the face by a teachers son and we were kicked out of the daycare to cover up his bad behavior.I have two boys that attended Scotties Kiddy Korner and have used them for more than five years. The staff has absolutely been the best with our kids. The management however is disappointing. I understand the incident we had is not common but it shows the mentality of the management.A teachers son (also attending the daycare) punched our son in the face causing a bloody nose without provocation. From other parents we were informed this child had a history with bad behavior so we spoke with management and agreed that our son and the other boy would be in separate in rooms. A couple days passed and and we observe the boys are no longer separated. When questioned, management insists on a meeting that would require us to take time off of work and come meet her. She calls one day and states that we were harassing the boy by insisting on her keeping the prior agreement of separation and that we should look for another daycare.

Scottys Daycare is well staffed, maintained and cared for. Staff mememem are well intuned with the children they have in their classroom. Programs are well thought out and planned according to the age of the child. I have more crafts and projects completed in 4 months for my daughter than I have in 2 years. Moving her to Scottys was one of the best decisions Ive ever made for my daughter.

This daycare is TERRIBLE, the state needs to know whats going on! They are always out of ratio, they forge paper work and even put kids on the bus and drive around so they stay in ratio when the state comes to do their check. All of their crafts are total product art, the teachers basically do the entire craft so it can look pretty rather than letting the children learn and enjoy the process. The management is completely rude to their staff, thats why all the teachers quit and there is never any consistency with the children. Teachers have no education in early childhood education. This place is just not up to standards. 0 positive guidance & 0 nurturing.

Our daughter was a preemie and we wanted to make sure that we felt truly comfortable with where she would be be in daycare. When we found Scottys we knew we had found it. From the infant room with Miss Debbi to today with her in Pre-k with Miss Michelle and Miss Anna, we could not be happier with our choice. Our daughter is happy, social, plays and learns at Scottys. The teachers are fantastic and dedicated. Miss Lillian is there every day and knows all of the children.

We are very grateful to you and all the Scottys staff for the many years of caring you have provided to Kayla, from the time she was an infant until today. We are extremely happy with the years Kayla has spent at Scottys, seeing the love and caring you have provided to her and to all the children, and knowing that we could trust in you when she was outside our own care.

In the time Mason has been in your program, he has learned many things and become such a smart, outgoing little man. I think his new school will provide him with the same quality of learning, encouragement and care that all you at SKK have shown. Again, thank you and all your staff for your commitment to all the children you teach everyday. Ill be sure to recommend SKK to anyone whos looking for quality childcare.

Ayden enrolled here and this is such an awesome establishment for children. Unfortunatley, my family has to move about an hour away and we will be unable to provide transportation for Ayden to continue his education with Scotties. I cannot say enough about the teachers here an dhow amazing they all are. My husband and I have seen such growth in our son since he has started with you all. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone and if we ever move back to this area, you are the first one I would call. I want you to know that your daycare put such a high standard on all other daycares that will be difficult to find and to beat. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you and your staff have done for us and especially for Ayden.
