I was a Lexington for 20 days for a hip replacement. My rehab went well. I received occupational therapy for upper body and physical therapy to work on my walking and Leg strengthening . I had weight bearing restrictions due to a fracture. Leo, made therapy fun and challenging. He suggested the anti-gravity treadmill which would help me walk while respecting my limitations. Wow! My nursing care was kind and compassionate. When I felt like crying I was met with a hug. Much love from the staff. My wound care was consistent. I always was asked if I needed anything. I will be coming back to show the staff all that I have become. My room was very clean. Food pretty good. They even got me a recliner so I could elevate my feet without having to stay in bed. Thanks to everyone. Tayna, Marina, Christian, Prisma and all the rest thank you.

Our mother was placed in critical care at Lexington Health Care about a month ago. Our family is impressed by the good care and friendly staff. The administrative staff has taken the time to visit and get to know our mother ,including brushing her hair and getting her coffee. For the most part the nurses and CNAs have been attentive to moms needs. Overall we are very satisfied.

We had my mother-in-law stay here for Rehab after back surgery. Patients are neglected here. My mother-in-law ended up back in the hospital with a severe infection due to neglect and leaving her to lay on a bedpan for hours. We had to make sure she could not go back to this facility after her second stay in the hospital. Don’t let your loved ones go here. We have notified the state of this neglect. Absolutely appalling on how patients are “cared” for here.

Rooms are extremely hot, they dont have technicians to fix ac/heaters. Kitchen guy that answers phone should go back to McDonalds because in place like this he should have patience on what people are trying to order. Very ignorant. But wont show his face when making a complaint about him.

Thats a bunch of bull! Year later my father passed away, you send a $17,000 bill to my mother to make make my mother pay my fathers bill?!Wheres the Medicaid papers I filled out in your office?! That financial girl that helped me fill out the papers is no longer working for you now! She never turned in the Medicaid papers! My fathers bills supposed to be paid for through Medicaid. Now after my father is long gone, you had the Nerve to Sue my Mother?! If there was a problem with Medicaid, why didnt you ever contact me for more information?! I was always there every day visiting my father, and you always saw me there at Lexington!!! If I wouldve known his bills were not being paid, i wouldve taken him Home! How was my father being treated?! My mother was in rehab there, and I saw, she wasnt getting the service she needed. She was being ignored, and her roommate witnessed this! Youtook phones away from her so she cannot call family members, you had already told me you took her cell phone from her and put it in the drawer. My father new something, but I didnt listen, but that doesnt mean I dont remember what he said! This is stuck in my mind and probably be there for the rest of my mind. I never see a nurse in his room! Now, a year later?What?!$17,000?!This was shocking when I saw this bill.Wheres the Medicaid I filled out in the office at Lexington?Lexingtons excuses were, my Father never had Medicaid.Well, this is my question. WHY?Why havent you turned in the papers to Medicaid, or if you did, and Medicaid needs more information, why did you fail to inform me about this?I dont know why that financial girl is not working there no more.Shes the girl girl that filled the Medicaid papers out with me.I was there recently asking about the papers and her. You refused to look through the files for the Medicaid papers. And you also refuse to contact the former employee that worked with me on the papers. Thats a little strange to me when youre Suing my mother for $17,000 that she doesnt know anything about, because Medicaid supposed to pay for it. I dont know why you are doing this to our family.

Dear Owner,We have talked to Jonathon, and things have not changed. The more we complain or ask question, the less care your staff gives my mother. We have heard every excuse. She is sicker now than when she came into Lexington. We have been waiting 3 days for a heart monitor. It will show up when she is back in the hospital or dead. Now she has another UTI and your nurses dont care. We feel at this point you and your staff do not care if she lives.I don’t feel I should have to worry about my mom when I cant visit, but I do. I thought she was being taken care of. On the nights I do visit, I see the nurses and the night manager sitting at the desk talking, looking at their phone or doing their paper work. I asked for help getting my mom into bed. She can’t get out of the wheel chair without help. They told me they had to go get the lift. It took 40 mins and the CNA calling for help 3 times.Once she was in bed, the CNA was getting her cleaned up, (there should have been 2 people int he room but everyone else left) I went to the front desk to get help because my mom started falling out of bed, I was not surprised once again nurses and the night manger sitting and talking. I was very angry. CNA cant do it all. They need help. It should be all hands on desk to get the patient ready for bed. This is the short story of all the happen. I can’t sleep, I worry all day, are we going to get another phone call saying they dropped my mom again. Please she/we have gone through so much in the last month, we just ask you treat her like you want your mom to be treated.

Went here for rehab from hip replacement. My original experience was just OK nurses seemed knowledgeable but understaffed. Upon completing rehab was getting ready for discharge and had an appointment with my surgeon the following day only to find out I had contacted a MRSA infection, had to be rushed back to hospital to have hip opened up and cleaned out. 5 weeks of intense antibiotics later was able to remove picc line and resume a normal life. Be careful if you are scheduled to go here!!

Lexington Elmhurst Health Care Center Rehab FacilityRecently my mother was in the hospital for a pulmonary embolism, a serious life- threatening event. After being in the hospital for 10 days, she was discharged to Lexington Elmhurst Health Care Center Rehab Facility. Unsure on what to expect, our family was concerned with this transition. However this concern immediately disappeared when we arrived at the facility. When we arrived we requested a private room, and our request was honored no questions asked. We were greeted by Walter, the director of admissions and Jonathon whose sole job is to advocate for the needs of the patient. They both visited my mother everyday to check in with her.The nurses and nurse assistants were all hard working and kind. They often greeted my mother with a smile and hug. The nurse manager, Vallyn, was also was amazing. She addressed any concerns I had and followed up with the physicians for answers to any questions. The nurse practitioner, Jim, was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my mother. He toke the time to explain everything to her. When he learned I was a pharmacist, he was sure to include me in the medication decision-making and address any and all concerns I might of have about my mother’s care.Above all the physical and occupational therapists were outstanding. They patiently worked with my mother to regain strength and confidence. They provided her the motivation to work hard. Of special note was Renata who was certified in lymphedema care. She took special care to apply the pressure wraps to my mother’s legs even coming from another facility (once she was transferred) to finish her care. The swelling in my mother’s legs were improving for the first time in many years. When we ready for discharge, Kaitlyn from social service arranged a meeting with the family and many of the healthcare providers to address any questions or concerns. Kaitlyn followed up with any questions we had and even investigated the price of some of the equipment that would not be covered by insurance. Kaitlyn also worked hard to get approval from the insurance to extend my mother’s stay so that she can receive more necessary physical therapy. The excellent care extended well beyond the healthcare providers. The maintenance people always greeted my mother warmly, and were happy to assist with a blanket if my mother was cold. The food services employees were always happy to see her and had no problem providing an extra drink when requested. My mother also enjoyed the food. Overall I would highly recommend this facility.

WORST FACILITY EVER. ...Please DO NOT take your Loved ones here EVER...go find another rehab facility that You Check Out First .. DONT rely on their Dr. just because he goes there...everything from not answering the call button to letting them sit in crap & peed depends. to wrong medication given to NO MEDICATION Given, because they ran out & had to call the pharmacy!!!! Really....when its a known Heart Med that they have been on for 30 + yrs. and they complain there having erriythmiasto not sticking to there physical therapy occupational therapy schedule but dont tell the patient..and their waiting and waiting. Not to mention Never getting results to the tests they take there without having to inquire...No one wants to help the Elderly whether there incompasitated or there recovering from a Hospital stay...Its DISGUSTING ...its Down right Criminal. ..these Lexington should either bump up their staff with more Qualified & Caring aides and nurses,Pt people and less Arrogant and pass the buck management...Annyonomous
