We had a private class with two of us. It was an outstanding experience - we were surprised at how much fun we had and the quality of the items we ended up making. One of us had never had any experience with ceramics and still came away with three beautiful pieces! The hands-on teaching technique took some getting used. If you’re not touchy feely be aware that there’s (literally) a lot of hand-holding. It’s so worth it! Every time we drink from our beautiful mugs or eat from our bowls we glow from a sense of accomplishment and from the glow of a great memory.

We had a party of 8 people, which is no easy task when you’re trying to give each person one on one time to teach them techniques! We each made one small plate and something on the wheel. For not having any experience, everyone’s projects turned out great! Vickie was very hands on and helpful through the whole process. This would be an amazing experience for people of all ages! From families, to couples to a girls night out. Every time I use my plate or mug I will think about the fun memories we made! When we first got there, Vickie gave us a mini lesson on different techniques for working with clay and how to get different shapes. We made the plates by hand first. She had a bunch of stamps and things to get creative and make the project your own! After that we all got a wheel to work on (she has 8). She started us off as more of a class, instructing us on how to get the general shape of our piece made. After that, she took time with each of us individually to finish off our creation! Some of us made mugs, we had a bowl, a beer stein and some wine cups! When we were all done, we went upstairs to look for the color of glazes we wanted! We could get specific as to the layering of multiple colors, which also helped make it feel extra special!Overall, it was an amazing experience! I will definitely be visiting again in the future.
