We fell in love with the establishment. The Eldred are very welcoming and very professional. They have been patient with our son through the process of joining the little dragons class. I would highly recommend them to our friends and family!

Well lets just say that everyone who I have talked to has been nice. No one has been rude. I will say that like any other business its all about money. So during the time of covid when the kids could not go still had to pay even though they could not have class. So as I am not rich and my hours were cut at work during this time I had asked if anything could be done about the money I kept paying even though I didnt get anything from it during this time. I was td there 2as nothing that could be done. Next they decided to tell me one day they were doubling my monthly rate. Now I was told that they had lost a lot of students during covid. If this is true its not my issue that that happened. Then I want to cancel and I was told that I have to keep paying for 3 more months before it was cancelled because thats what the billing company wants. And with the way things are right now I cant barely afford the gas to get to work. This seems pretty dirty to me and I would not have gone there if I would have known this. Plus it would be nice to see Mr eldred more then just poking his head out of his office.

I would not recommend this place because they do not respect the end of your contract and proceed with charging your card. In my experience, my student’s contract ended this month and they proceeded with charging our card over $200 plus a fee for a test my student did not agree to take. When I call to get this resolved, they do not pick up.

Awesome school! Teaches so much more than martial arts, such as self discipline, how to deal with peer pressure, respect for others, the value of education, accomplishment and community service! Worth every penny!

I personally went to this school when I was younger, and I agree with Jenny, I felt belittled. When I went for tests I was always nervous because I knew I would have a hard time moving on if I didnt do it right. I eventually got to a state where I went home frustrated and sad and I ended up quitting. This was hard for me because I am an athlete who doesnt give up on things like this, but it was taking up time where I could be doing something more with other sports rather than feel bad! The instructors are amazing and I loved them, but whenever Randy was there I was nervous. If you want your child to learn this way that is perfectly fine! It is a great school for martial arts. I learned a lot and loved the instructors! I actually followed one of them to a different studio because he was my favorite and was going to be running this studio, and it was much better. But I personally did not enjoy the teaching style at Eldreds. Sorry if this came off rude but I think people should know what theyre getting in to. Everyone has different teaching styles, this one just didnt work for me! Try it if you would like! It is amazing if you can get past the instruction type :) (4 stars because I learned so much!! I loved it otherwise, Im just not good with criticism)

Marvelous Taekwondo studio! Son has gone for a year now and it offers sooo much more then the other studios that can sometimes be cheesy. My son went from shy and scared to confident and determined. They not only learn taekwondo, but bigger life lessons such as self control, discipline, respect, honor, determination and perseverance.A couple picnics during the summer, holiday activities and special promotional activities outside of normal practices make it all the more fun.

I have had an excellent experience with this studio--not just for my kids--but I also enjoyed attending Eldreds when I was their age.My two kids were 5 and 10 when they started and stayed enrolled for almost 3 years. The only reason we are not currently attending is due to location. Our family recently relocated but if we find ourselves back in the Escondido area we will re-enroll.From the stand point of a working mom of 3, a HUGE pro was the schedule! The class times made it a breeze to get them to class. They have classes that accommodate immediately after school up through the early evening (very practical for working families). Also, there are classes available on Saturday mornings which were fun to sit and watch with the other parents. The Tae Kwon Do studio is also very festive! There are always fun offsite picnics in the works, Kona Ice trucks, egg hunts, haunted houses, Santa and even SNOW (yes. Snow. In. Escondido.) :)Lastly, the staff is great! I like how they teach the students to address adults with respect! Most of the instructors have been with the studio since they were white belts which is kind of neat--as they can teach the kids, while understanding first hand the experience the students are having in the program. All in all this is not only a great place to learn martial arts, but it is also a great place if you are considering a productive and fulfilling extra curricular for your kids (or yourself)!

I am giving this place one star because the instructors are very nice and good with the kids. We put our son in this karate place about a year ago. Every 10 weeks or so, your kids will have testing. Mr. Elred will be the guy who the kids look up to for these tests. He is not involved in their actual lessons. Our son was very focused and picked up on the content very fast. But, we noticed each and every time they had a test, Mr.Eldred was very condescending and belittling to the kids. I am all for teaching discipline and responsibility, but he took it too far. His tone of voice, body language and words to all kids who missed a move, forgot a move or couldnt kick high enough or round enough was beyond acceptable. We are talking five year olds who shouldnt be intimidated into learning. The environment should be safe and fun.During the tests, this was not the case. Near the end of September our son had another test. I hadnt made it to the last couple, my husband did. On this day, I watched him belittle my son and and cause him to feel inadequate. As a parent watching this, I was extremely upset and decided he wasnt teaching my child confidence, but giving him a complex. On the way to test, he said he was nervous. I just shrugged it off. But after watching the way Mr. Eldred treated him and other students poorly, I decided enough. All the times I had seen this, clicked in my mind that something wasnt right.Instead of moving on from steps that young children have a hard time with, he embarrasses them in front of other students, parents and staff. A test should be an evaluation, where they move on if a kid isnt able to kick high enough or round enough. Not roll your head, your eyes and draw a circle on a piece of paper, hold it up and belittle the six year old kid! That isnt teaching discipline at all. Its harassment.I cant tell you how many times I saw this sort of attitude towards kids. It hit me right then and there and we cancelled. Then I was told that we signed a contract and we had to pay for two more months. I told them I was told this was a month to month and because of that we signed believing this. We were misinformed (to put bluntly, lied too). I told them I would not pay for a school where my child is harassed, nor support a school who condones this.BEWARE of this school. I feel sorry for the instructors, as they are nice, but Mr. Eldred is not a nice person, at least that is what I saw and experienced. We have since moved on to a new martial arts place in Escondido, where they treat kids with respect and actually help them to learn vs giving them a complex or belittling them into remembering the moves. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE. There are much better schools in Escondido with a value that teaches discipline, honor, respect without disrespecting the kids. Look at the reviews that are hidden or not recommend. Many of them had the same experience. Its not a coincidence, its the truth. I hope Mr. Elred re-evaluates his attitude and treatment to the kids and makes a change for the better.
