Parent Day Out is a cooperative preschool housed in the YMCAs Childrens Center building, but it is not affiliated with the YMCA. It has been around for 20+ years and the current director, Karen, has been with the program for 15+ years. The program is for children ages 2-4. It is a co-op, so as a parent, you are required to be the working parent in the room every 10 weeks or so. There is a ratio of 10 children to 2 adults (Karen and one parent). My daughter started the program when she had just turned 2 and she absolutely loves it. Karen is so wonderful with kids. The children have free play, play with play-doh, do art projects, play at a sand table, etc. They will go to the park when the weather is nice and are able to use the gym/play room at the Y during colder months. The program runs Monday-Friday with children attending from 9:15a-2p during the school year and 9:15a-1p during the summer. Cost is approximately $30 per day. You may enroll your child for up to 2 days and can pick up a third on a space available basis. We have been extremely happy at Parent Day Out. My daughter asks to go almost every day and gets so excited driving by the building. I cant recommend it enough.
