The only lesson my young daughter got was about “products” in her hair. Staff never notified me about it but took it upon themselves over multiple lessons to make my child insecure about her textured hair. No “products” were used in her hair. No policies regarding the use of products were ever stated. When it was addressed with the staff a male employee suggested a swim cap. No one in that facility (including staff) wore swim caps in the water. This location is conveniently located in Evanston, but needs some serious cultural sensitivity training. I was issued a refund and free lessons, but wouldn’t feel comfortable sending my kids back here.

My sons teacher Maddie is amazing. His confidence in the water has really improved and I feel like hes actually learning to swim. We had one small incident and I feel like the staff and management handled it really well.

I’ve done swim lessons at a number of places with my oldest child, but during COVID all those places were shutdown so I took my youngest to goldfish. Ive been so happy and so has she! She has a blast and looks forward to every lesson. She’s also learned so much and is a much improved swimmer. Today she wore her “Goldfish” T-shirt and said “this Goldfish Swim School shirt is very special to me.” We love goldfish!

This school is outstanding! My 3 year old granddaughter loves her swim school and is always looking forward towards her next class. The school is bright, cheerful, welcoming, and clean. Its employees are cheerful and happy to welcome their students. Our class time is at 530pm and we are always welcomed with a big smile. Tavis and Kalaiah have been her outstanding teachers, patient, fun with a plan and objectives with each class. The Goldfish Swim School has been a very bright spot and weekly event for my granddaughter this summer!

We’ve had a great experience at Goldfish! They are taking every precaution during the pandemic - we feel very safe. Both my 3 and 5 yr old daughters love swim class and look forward to it every week.

We’ve been attending for half a year. Our toddler has improved so much!Staff members are friendly, welcoming, and they accommodate to your needs. Our favorite instructor is Mr. Mitri. Also, their pool is always nice, warm, and clean, and their prizes after lessons are a nice touch.We can’t recommend them enough!

Very nice facility and a good response to the current Covid climate, with limited class sizes. My son is still enjoying his lessons here and making great progress. He likes the coaches and lessons are a highlight of the week.Bonus that it shares a parking lot with Temperance, so if you have 2 parents on your lesson that day, the other can have a tasty beverage :)

My son really missed going to his swim classes & I was a bit worried taking him back. After seeing how cautious they are from the moment we are waiting to go in from the moment we leave was such a relief. Watching the team taking temps, all the signs, wiping & spraying everything was a big peace of mind. I appreciate them going above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe. All the precautions GFSS has taken have impressed our family. From temperature checks, sanitizing, the labels on changing rooms and restrooms, removing toys and the way we enter and exit are all great. We feel totally comfortable being at swim class!

Theyve been so amazingly patient with my water-phobic eldest child, and provide the right amount of challenge and safety to my water loving youngest child.

The staff are extremely kind and welcoming. Always have a smile on their face. The showers, bathrooms, and changing area are always clean. The only problem I encountered was the two private showers had no running hot water on a Tuesday evening; I was warned by other parents who were trying to use it. I approached the front desk staff and I received this look from them that they knew and I wasn’t the only one complaining about it. One staff member notified me that it must be because it’s such a busy day that they figured it was that. Well, to begin with, why would management not put warning signs so parents don’t waste time and effort trying to manage the faucets to run hot water. Why not stick a sign at each private shower door. That would clear the cloud for communication. Secondly, Saturday’s are insanely busy and the lack of hot water hasn’t happened on a Saturday so to blame that it was a busy Tuesday doesn’t add up. Otherwise I’m happy about Goldfish. Please, have the hot water fixed for my kid’s next class. Thanks!

We love that the instructors are very attentive to each child. Love the small class size. The place is always very clean. My daughter looks forward to coming and learning new skills and moving to different levels. The instructors are very caring. They encourage Kandice to do her best and motivate her to feel strong with her swimming.

Goldfish has been one of the most fun experiences weve enjoyed with our daughter Kat. Weve been Goldfish members for over a year, our daughter is about to turn 4 and is an amazing, strong and safe swimmer thanks to Goldfish. The place is spotlessly clean, and so is the pool, always. Customer service is AMAZING, second only to their skilled, patient, safe and friendly swim teachers. And its an incredible value, so reasonably priced. I would have paid double and still felt like it was more than worth it.

The staff overall at Goldfish is wonderful, accommodating and just makes it easy- from the instructors to the front desk staff, and management. Our kids arent scared of being in the pool anymore. Theyve really taken to swimming. The instructors have a way with kids where they go the extra mile to make a connection with their students. Our experience has really been great!

Our kids LOVE their swim lessons. The location is VERY family friendly, with a play area for littles and free wifi. You can view your childs lessons through a floor to ceiling glass wall. All of the instructors are super friendly and supportive. Their leveled groups are small and flexible. 7% discount for each kid you sign up (accumulative.) I currently have 3 kids in 2 different levels all at the same time slot, so I dont have to come more than once.They have ever type of lesson that you could need, small group, accelerated daily, one on one, infant, you name it.I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School.

Hi being a mother of a special needs child is never easy, when I was asked by my sons doctor to start swim lessons for my 7 year old non verbal autistic son I really didnt knew where to go,his doctor suggested Gold Fish Swim School and we thought of giving it a try. Our daughter always looks forward to her swimming lessons because the instructors are so nice and encouraging. They are knowledgeable and make it fun! The water is a good temperature and the facilities are clean.

I took my 18 month old and 4 year old here at the same time for swim lessons. Both LOVED it! My 4 year old gained a lot of confidence in the water- he now jumps off the diving board after 6 weeks of classes. He even practices in the bathtub at home. My 18 month old went from crying every minute of being in the water to splashing and having a blast by week 6. The instructors are caring, encouraging and friendly. The facility is first rate- adore the decor!

Great place for kids to learn to swim. Staff is very friendly. I pulled my son out for one reason only. Each week, I was told the same thing over and over again. My son needed to work on... ...My problem with the program is, if my son needed to work on his roll over, then why doesnt the teacher the following week just work on the childs weakness the entire class??? The only thing that was keeping him in the same class for over 6 months was his roll over. So for 6 months the teacher failed to teach him. Classes are 30 mins for 4 kids. The last 5 mins of class, the parents speak with the teacher, so really your child is only swimming for 6 to 7 mins because your child is waiting their turn to swim. I also asked a few times for private lessons and I was told they are all taken. Overall, great place, but certain things need to be changed.

Small personalized classes have taught my 6 year old to swim successfully after theee years of lessons. We’ve been so happy that we recently enrolled our 3 year old too so she can do the same!

“The entire staff is very warm and welcoming and my daughters primary instructor so far has been Nate, and hes been fantastic. He engages all the kids, makes it very fun, and keeps the class balanced between teaching the infants basic kicking and pulling skills with having fun. I had some concernsthat I expressed after my daughters trial class, but the Sales and Service Manager Dzesika really went beyond my expectations in making sure we had a positive experience. Take your child here, its a great time!

Weve just completed the Jumpstart program at the new Goldfish Swim School in Evanston. Before our vacation, I wanted my kids (ages 5 and 7) to review/improve their swim skills and this week-long clinic was perfect. Very friendly staff who maintain a low student/instructor ratio, giving kids more individual attention than weve experienced elsewhere. Delighted with the results--one kid learned to tread water on day 3 and the other can float. This school is bright and clean and charmingly decorated with ample parking. The kids work on skills with other students at a similar level. Staff are always assessing when a student needs more work and when theyve reached the next level for more challenge. It was also cool that they give little ribbons for various achievements by the kids. Highly recommended.

Very bad service i paid in advance 12 week classes in 2018 and thay charge me in january 2019 whan i call them thay told me this is valid charge i told them i did not sign up for any classes than thay told me u sign up in last june2018 i told them u guys call me on my phone gave me offer for 12 week classes i paid in full . i enroll for 12 weeks only finaly i took my wife credit card statement and drove to office show them thay dont have anything in system . second thay charge me on aug 2018 i still have credit in my gold fish account thay said we can not give u back wow nice experience

Turnover rate of swim instructors is moderate. There have been two instances in two years where swim instructors suddenly resigned causing my children to have to have a new teacher. Adjusting to new teacher is difficult for toddlers.
