I sent my daughter to Van Riper and loved everything about this school. The teachers were attentive and truly loved every child. The curriculum was student centered and the teachers always individualized their instruction to meet every child’s needs. The director (Maggie) is a true professional! You can tell she is an outstanding, loving, and warm teacher from the minute you meet her. She made me feel comfortable and most of all she makes every child feel special.Love this school!

As a grandparent who is actively involved in raising my grandchildren, Im extremely impressed with this program and the staff at Van Riper Ellis. As an instructor, Maggie Nelson was particularly noteworthy. Shes creative, caring, and wonderful at connecting with the children. She had since become an administrator and continues to be an asset to this school. Her dedication to the children and their social, emotional, and academic advancement is clearly evident and quite comforting for our family.

I have never met a more dedicated group of educators. They treat the children like their own. Look no further if you want your child to be in a safe nurturing educational environment.

VRECS is an amazing school. I have 3 children, my oldest being 9 and my twins who currently attend the school are 4. Years ago when we were searching for a preschool for our oldest, we looked at a few different schools and liked them but once I toured VRECS and learned of the curriculum that was offered and met the staff, I knew in my heart that this was the school for my daughter. Both my husband and I fell in love with the school and were very happy that the decision was so easy to make. My oldest attended both pre-k3 and transitional kindergarten. Due to missing the cut off as she is a November baby, she is a year behind because of state laws, but academically, her teachers felt that she was ready to move into transitional kindergarten as she was thriving in prek3, I was told she is ready. The transition to trans kindergarten was smooth, she loved her teachers, loved the students but most of all, loved to learn. She was reading by the end of the school year and was more than ready for Kindergarten. The staff is very welcoming, nurturing, loving but most of all attentive to each and every student. They are so engaged in the childrens daily lives that the school is like a second home to them. We had nothing but a wonderful experience with my oldest so when it was time to send my twins (currently 4) to preschool, we knew in our heart that Van Riper was going to be our choice without any hesitation. My children love going to school EVERYDAY, they love their teachers, they love the aftercare staff, they love the office staff, Mrs. Nayda ,Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Ziegler but most of all, they too love to learn. Every day they learn something new and cant wait to come home to tell us all about it. This school has a lot to offer the children, they will leave knowing so much. Your child will be ready for Kindergarten, there is no doubt in my mind that they will not be ready. We know as parents, we made the right choice for our kids and so can you. Definitely tour this school, we know you will love it just as much as we do. Have a blessed day!!

Hi I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of the the teachers my son had at VRCES. I could not of been more happy, and felt more secure with the care and education they provided him when he attended. I also want to say a special thank you to an amazing teacher named Mrs.Nelson. My son still talks about the love and care he received daily. I was amazed at the amount of knowledge my son acquired during the year with Mrs.Nelson. She along with the dedicated staff made sending my son to pre K and Kindergarten a wonderful experience. God Bless all.Thank you Denise Kolenovic and Ayden Kolenovic

We have had a great experience at VRECS. My daughter had Michelle Bravin for Pre-k3, Maggie Nelson for Pre-k4, and Lisa Bates for 1/2 day Kindergarten. I trust the staff completely and see a quality of teacher that I have not found elsewhere. I also love that my daughter had such great indoor and outdoor play spaces. My son is currently loving Pre-k3. I wouldnt send my children anywhere else! I had my son in 2 other programs before he started at VRECS and they really didnt compare.

For two months I decided I was not going to say anything, but I would be remiss not to. I want people pro know how Van Riper Christian Ellis school kicked my 3 year old child out of school like he was disposable trash. My child starting attending Van Riper at the beginning of the school year early September. My husband and I had toured the school a year prior with Robin. And we liked the facility. At the time outcry toddler was too young to attend. My mom was here from a different ountry helping us out with our child. Once my mom went back home (to a different country) we enrolled our child into a daycare school until the school year began at Van Riper. Yes, he wasn’t fully potty trained like most 3 year old I know but he was doing a great job most of the time. Our son went to the school for a few months and all was fine. We were so excited for him to start Van Riper. Little did we know that he would be kicked out three weeks later. Aggie approached me on September 22 to tell me how my child needs urgent evaluation and we should seek assistance from the town immediately as Van Riper is not the best place for him.she told me that he was. Not doing the same things the other kids on the class wS doing and that’s concerning to them. She said pretty much all the teachers had had contact with him and his behavior was convpcerning, I explained to her and Rebecca that we weren’t concerned and this was alarming news. I even tried to show proof that he’s perfectly normal by showing them videos of us reading etc. Maggie rubbed my shoulders and said he needs one on one and I should have him evaluated and not to worry because it’s free for him to go to school if the town approves. ( very insulting to a woman who works very hard) I work my husband works, just to be clear. That was that. They sent home papers for us to take him to the town immediately! On Monday September 24; at approximately 1:12 pm I got a call from Maggie. The disdain was fury could be heard in her tone. She proceeded to tell me that someone needs to come and pick up my child right away and he can’t come back foe a week. She said he peed twice today and they don’t have the man power so we need to come pick him up now. To my disbelief at her tone and shock, I inquired what she expected us to do him him for a week when we are both working people. This woman said, she didn’t care. I said so you are just kicking my three year old out and she said “YES” my heart dropped for numerous reasons but more importantly I need to get my child away from them and what were we going to do for a week. I called my husband who left work and went to pick him up. For a week he had to work an amended shift to stay home. We then had to buy a last minute ticket for my mom to come back.I want to tell Maggie and the rest of evaluators at Van Riper that our son is doing brilliantly. I also want to tell them that we know what you guys did. You couldn’t handle a hyperactive black boy so you lied and tried to force us to put him into special ed. He’s like any other 3 year old. Oh by the way, we ran into a parent who’s son is on the same class and she confirmed that YOU did not send her child home even though he’s peed on himself multiple times a day. 😉You had us looking at our child crazy like he was different or less than. He plays with our kids, no one has ever told us what you people did. You didn’t even give him a shot. Three weeks and you called his fate. You will hear about him though, because he’s an amazingly talented and smart child!
