Arturo and Katie make an amazing team to provide the most professional and phenomenal sailing experience. We completed our ASA 101, 103, and 104 courses while on a live a board this past week. Katie catered the menu to our special diet and helped us plan for the week. She was very responsive to our email questions. She went above and beyond to help us prepare and provide us with everything we needed for the week. Arturo was an amazing instructor and captain. He was knowledgeable and patient with us. We had limited sailing experience but taught us the skills to venture out for many future adventures. His experience and knowledge allowed us to learn all of the skills we need to sail our own boat. He also provided helpful information which will help our transition to living aboard a sailboat full time and sailing our own boat. He taught us more than sailing, he gave us the skills we need to pursue our sailing dreams.

We took the day sailing trip today. It was a great experience. Arturo knows so much about sailing and was a very good host. We enjoyed every minute

We did a private charter with these guys in August 2021 and we had a blast !! I noticed all the reviewers gave them 5 stars and now I know why. Booked the trip through their website with Katie. She’s the wife of the Captain and what a nice lady. She answered all my questions and was really interested in making sure we had a nice time. Katie even gave us a choice of lunch menus and what alcohol and drinks we would like. No one else offered that at this price. What I really liked about the trip was we didn’t have to arrive at the crack of dawn to go sailing like most other charters do. We showed up at our convenience 👍 (around 11:30am) The trip lasted 6 hours. Captain Arturo met us at the main marina in Puerto del Rey in Fajardo (about 1 hour and 15 min. from San Juan) near the flags/fountain and escorted us to the boat, the “Abillo”. We met Keila, the first mate/chef, who was as nice as they come. We sailed out of the marina to Palimino Island… did some snorkeling and just had a wonderful relaxing day. The water was a tad cloudy from some upswells but there was no real current to worry about. Our captain knew the waters and made sure we snorkeled in an area that was safe. 👍 Arturo and Keila were even handing us drinks while we stayed in the water. We felt like kings !! We asked for the churasco for lunch and they grilled them right there on the boat. All the food, appetizers etc. we’re fresh and delicious. We all commented on how tasty everything was. Overall I can say the day was one we won’t soon forget !! We were 4 adults and two teenagers and everyone enjoyed themselves. As a matter of fact, we will be booking another sail with them this December !!

Great experience. Arturo and Kristy did a wonderful job and were so accommodating. Overall a great experience run by a great team. Will def be back with extended family once Covid settles down.

We chartered the sailboat for our anniversary. Katie was great in answering all our questions regarding the charter and went above and beyond in recommending places to eat and stay before and after our charter as we were unfamiliar with the area.The day of the charter we were met by our driver right outside where we were staying in San Juan who took us to the Marina for the charter. We were met by staff at the marina who promptly loaded all our bags and took us to the boat slip.Katie and Arturo met us at the sailboat, loaded our bags and offered us drinks and snacks while we went over the necessary paperwork and safety briefing. Arturo talked with us to find out what we wanted to do with our time and gave us options on where we could sail to do some snorkeling and have some beach time. We had an absolutely amazing time that day. We sailed to Palomino island, snorkeled for a while, then Katie packed us some snacks and drinks and Arturo took us in the dinghy to the beach where we soaked in the sun until it was time to return to the boat for dinner, which was amazing. Katie and Arturo really make sure that the time spent is special and the experience is catered especially for you. Highly recommended and we cant wait to go again.

What an amazing experience.As soon as I contacted Sandy Bottom Sailing and connected with Katie I knew we had made the right choice for a day of sailing. She was so responsive and accommodating, a level of customer service you rarely find anymore.Arturo and Katie were so welcoming when we met them at the marina and the day only got better from there. The boat was amazing, the food and drink was over the top and their company made the day.Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I cannot even begin to rave about Katie and Arturo. Went on this trip for a bachelorette and it was a day to remember. Katie made the best food/drinks ever and was super responsive when we had questions. The food was so good. Arturo was an amazing captain. We sailed to an island and the rest of the day was a menu of anything we wanted to do. From wanting to sunbathe on the boat, snorkeling, paddle boarding, he helped us achieve whatever we wanted to do. By far the best experience Ive ever had. They were super nice and really professional. Highly recommend.
