He actually teaches children, and his teachings make a tremendous impact on his students (and their parents). My son switched karate dojos to Ultimate Defense in Fall River, Massachusetts. There is so much passion, energy and excitement at this place. He loves it! He no longer wants to quit.... 6 degree black belt Sensei Ernie Thivierge is absolutely amazing.They teach real world self defense here. Ernie is passionate, caring and very encouraging to the children. He utilizes positive reinforcement while individually helping the children learn.This place is absolutely awesome! I have to drive 15 minutes to get here from Dartmouth but it is well worth the drive.

Ernie is wonderful with the children - you can tell they really respect and look up to him! Aside from this, his classes are always full of motivation and lots of education/knowledge, this is not just about karate! This class teaches structure, discipline, respect for others, and instills the importance of appreciation and gratitude! Sensei has exceeded my expectations as an instructor, and we look forward to spending the next few years here. If you’re thinking about it, just do it! Nothing to lose, everything to gain! Awesome spot!

The staff at this facility is top notch. The programs for children and adults are outstanding. As an adult student, the training I have received has helped me reach and exceed all of the goals I had set for myself. The kids programs are fantastic as well! My son has been going to Ultimate Defense in Fall River since they opened and loves the program. The martial arts teachers are amazing!! They are very focused on respect, confidence, self discipline and having a positive attitude. Its a very kid friendly program and I am very thankful for them :)

Ive been looking for an extracurricular activities to help my kids learn to focus. We started as the two week trial. Sensi t made sure he took the time to teach my kids privately then gave us a two week trial. He not only teaches the kids karate but life lessons they can take for life. Im proud to be associated with these great people and am happy to join the positive and much respect family .

Ultimate defense is a pleasure to be in, I always feel comfortable to raise my hand during class and ask a question. I have sensei Ernie as a teacher but I have been with Ms. Amy before and she is also a great pleasure. Whenever I do a class I dont feel like I am working I feel like I am having fun and playing around!😊

Ernie and Amy are wonderful with all ages of children as well as adults. John and Jarred are also great! Each class and move can be modified per a persons limitations. I am so happy I was able to find a Dojo close to home that both my kids love. They (13 and 5) both love it and want to go all 4 days (although it is not required). Thank you Ultimate Defense!!

Ultimate Defense is more than just a Dojo. It’s been a place for my daughter to build her self confidence and learn to stand up for herself. She has only been there for 2 months and we already see such a positive change with the way she focuses and handles herself. Also, Sensai T is amazing with the kids. He makes sure to not only train the kids in the karate moves but also teaches them morals. All around we have had a very positive experience and wouldn’t go elsewhere. Definitely recommend to all my friends and family!
