I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL.DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE.They kick out my kid from Kinder Garden the first day of school. According to the teacher, my kid was creating a distraction because the kid wanted to play. My kid didn’t have an opportunity to be integrated in the classroom. The school principal called me one hour after the class started because my 5 years old kid wanted to play and was not seated all the time. The teacher claimed she has many students in the classroom and there is only one teacher assistant for multiple teachers. I consider they gave us an unfair treat. The Kinder Garden teacher does not have the tolerance to work with kids.

My parents wanted to do what was best for me but all they did was help me open my eyes about what was one of the worst ideas they have ever made. This is the worst school out of every school Ive been to, and the teachers are very rude and belligerent. You want whats best for your child, keep them away from Alpha Academy before you end up torturing their lives just like mine were.

My parents had several problem with the school, so did my brother and I. We started going there in 2014-2015 school year and left after 2015-2016 school year ended. My Brothers teacher told him that his opinion was in valid and not needed. When my parents had a conference with Mr and Mrs Slocum, and his teacher and when that teacher lied to my fathers face, he lost it and about came over the table to get said teacher. In my two years there, Grade 5 and 6 at the time, my parents had problems with teachers. My six grade year I had 3 teachers for homeroom. I only had two good teachers there and the other teachers were very disrespectful. My 6th grade English teacher never taught us anything and when more than half of us were back in her class for summer school, then never questioned it and told us WE were the ones that failed.

I dont recommend this school for anyone. when people are bullied they dont do anything about it. You may be thinking well if the kids dont speak up what are they supposed to do. But the kids do speak up but they just dont seem to care. They either just talk to the kids that are bullying instead of giving them real consequences. In conclusion, they make fake promises.

I dont know why anyone should even have this as an option for school. This is the worst school in fayetteville. Most of the teachers dont teach and expect the kids to just do their work. Some even call other kids stupid or dumb when they get a question wrong.

Incredible teachers, strong administration who supports the students/staff, challenging curriculum, and structured learning environment. The school is always clean and welcoming. We were there for a few months before moving and my son loved it! Communication is very well! Im excited to follow Alpha from afar to see how they grow. This is far better than the public schools in Hoke county!

My daughters first week of school her teacher called her slow for not having her sentences done fast enough. Her daycare teacher heard the whole thing. Mind you my daughter is 6 and is dealing with a heavy emotional burden for her age. I am pulling her out immediately and highly advise to never send your child here.

The learning environment is amazing, my daughter was a challenged and my other daughter improved a great deal when we selected this school. They are adding sports programs; however, I feel they can do a better job with their soccer team which seems a little unorganized. Also enrichment classes are scarce or nearly non existent. Art, Music, PE was not what I expected it to be. I was interested in the idea of a guitar and martial arts that was advertised when I first enrolled them, but havent heard anything about it since. Otherwise, its growing and I cant wait to see what more it has to offer, I will be patient with the process.

I went here for a few years. They had a couple of horrible teachers that never listen. They cut programs and I had multiple teachers in 4 grade. But,they also had opportunities like helping get my poem published .Yeah, they have some good points but they also have bad points to.

I like the outline of the curriculum however the organization skills Im not seeing from new student night to now . Just seemed rushed and thrown together some teachers were nice and spoke some when you spoke they just looked at you. I admire their expectations from my child stand point and from a parent stand point accountability. Crossing my fingers that this is not what the school has awaiting for my child and myself. They seem very welcoming to ideas so thats a great thing

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Slocum along with Ms. Campbell, Mr. Miller, and Mr. Ellerbe today. I was encouraged to learn at the organizations core there is a fundamentally sound philosophy that stems with the idea of making a difference. Outside of meeting with leadership I encountered several staff members from teachers to janitorial colleagues that greeted me with a smile and genuine conversation. It was clearly apparent that this group of professionals that lead this organization have a special dynamic and passion for their work that resonates to the discipline and academic achievements of their students. I strongly suggest anyone reading this review to take the extra step and go visit the organization for themselves to witness this rock solid academic facility

Most of the year, the school has been ok. They have a rigorous academic standard, great sports program and plenty of extracurricular activities for the kiddos. But at the end of the year, somethings not right. My sixth grader currently has an A in math, is a bright girl, but an end of grade math assessment has identified her for summer school. But its not just her. All but four of her classmates have also been identified for summer school. Something doesnt pass the smell test. After expressing my concerns, the administration will not return my messages of concern.Update: After getting to speak with the staff, they informed me that the summer school was not mandatory and as long as my sixth grader met all the yearly requirements, she would advance to the next grade.

Every parent wants what’s best for their child, education being at the top of the list. I against my own better judgment decided to enroll my children into Alpha Academy, what a horrendous mistake! From the beginning of the school Year until the very end I thought we had jumped in a tar pit and We found ourselves pressure cooking everyday. My children came from a school of qualified professional Educators where they maintained A/B averages. We’re in Stem Programs and a safe environment conducive to learning experiences. They loved school and were awarded perfect attendance and given achievement awards. At Alpha Academy they were exposed to unqualified caregivers holding teacher positions. You can say as long as a body was in the building it’s school as usual. My children’s homework was lost on a regular bases by these caregivers, affecting their report card grade then later found in a pile on the corner and Grade never changed. A lunch bag was in the middle of the floor, and it was kicked at my child by a teacher. I had to call several times and then made a visit to speak with the principal which used the so called resolving method of remediation. Talking things out led to a years worth of chaos and lies. there were never solutions, just patching up and brushing things under the rug, just to keep the parents under control. The school name is a disgrace, there is nothing Alpha about it. I have met with The Superintendant over numerous of times regarding bullying from students as well as teachers. I even had to go as far as contacting the board of directors. On one occasion I met with the Superintendant concerning my child not being allowed to go to the restroom during certain times of the month. I had to pay a special visit to the doctors office to get a dr.’s note to give Alpha Academy’s front office for her to be able to go to the restroom when necessary. My youngest child was sent outside without a coat in below freezing weather, and then when the teacher was questioned why, “ she says where she’s from kids go out all the time without coats”. Also there was an incident where a student told my child that she was going to be beaten up until she dies. Principal nor the superintendent did nothing. I met with them and again all they did was remediation and the bullying continued. It continued all the way until the end of the school year. I tried to give the school the benefit of the doubt. I should have gone with my better Judgement from the beginning. My children hated Alpha Academy everyday. Sometimes crying on the way to school. Many things are judged. I have removed my children from Alpha Academy never to return again. I encourage anyone that cares and wants the best educational experience , loving environment and respectful atmosphere to choose another school. I drop the mic.

My daughter was there a yr and a half. Its progressively declining in academics and discipline priorities. There is a school list of supplies which goes to a community pile for the class later, (worst idea ever) but my child was denied a pencil on more than one occasion. I went to the school, spoke to my daughters teacher in person and she was over dramatic and belligerent. She called my 9yr old a liar to her face...4th grade teacher was a bully to students! If you care about your childs future, look to another school.

If I could give a negative rating I would. I moved from California about two weeks ago; enrolled my son to begin courses 11/27/17; I am now withdrawing him 12/13/17. I spoke with the Director Eugene Slocum since this past summer about concerns I saw regarding the schools atmosphere, curriculum, and unresponsiveness of the teachers. He assured me directly via telephone conversation, email, and in person I would not regret sending my son to his institution. Here I am two weeks later withdrawing my son because of the lack of respect between students and teachers, bullying without reprimand, and an overall negative experience. My son came from an extremely positive environment of faculty that truly cares for its students and would do anything possible to see them succeed. Here at Alpha the teachers namely Ms. Thomas were not helpful in accommodating my sons learning needs in an effective manner to which she called me looking for answers because my son was struggling. How can a child struggle from maintaining a B+ average to now in your school only for a week practically failing? Basic information was not provided such as a student schedule, parent portal, supply list, or teacher contact information within the first week. Hot lunch is not provided nor a means to warm lunch, occasions where surprise supplies were needed-these are supplies not listed on the original list just to complete homework, a consistent lack of communication, fights daily, and teachers cursing at students. My son mainly came for the STEM institute because he was heavily participating in robotics programs before arriving. I believed it was up and running after several conversations with Mr. Slocum and staff but as we arrived and have now seen its barely off the ground and not operating. I just received a call yesterday 12/12/17 stating there would be a parent info session this week but my son wasnt given information to attend even after I spoke with his teacher over the program Ms. Thomas and Mr. Slocum about my sons interest. Overall, I would recommend not sending your child here unless you dont care about their education. Ive learned in these last two weeks of being a new parent to a student of this school; everything is not what it seems. I felt like I signed up for the Army again; they sold me on a dream but when I arrived and signed the paperwork it was a nightmare!
