Good Christ-centered and high quality education. Given the limitations of a small school, there are many opportunities in sports, arts, and academics with many sports teams, worship teams, bands, choirs, a few AP classes, numerous college and online class, and many teachers with gifts and talents theyd love to share if a specific program is not offered. Most of the staff and students are extremely welcoming and caring. Fairly conservative but has many students and a few teachers with a wide variety of views. Attending this school is one of the best decisions Ive made and will surely have a large impact on my life. (Class of 2019; attended 2017-19)

Hillcrest has a wonderful learning and Christian community. The faculty truly care about each and every student and are intentional about helping them learn. Hillcrest prepares students for college and for leading a Christ-centered life. I have already spent one year there and I love it! Everyone is so welcoming and I have grown so much. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to attend this school!

Hillcrest is amazing in so many ways. They are intentional about having a thread of the gospel through everything they do whether it be academics, sports, or other extracurricular activities. The level of academic and spiritual experience offered to those who attend is a great value. The faculty is known for not only their academic competence but also for how they invest in the students in and out of the classroom. Whether your child lives in the dorm or off campus, they experience a great sense of community and form friendships that will last a lifetime. While Hillcrest raises the bar on their expectations of the kids, HLA makes it their priority to point the students to Christ, and compels them to use their time and talent for His glory when they graduate and step out into the world.

I have 4 children that attend Hillcrest. I could not be more happy with the Christian environment and focus on a classical approach infused with Biblical worldview. My children have also already been able to take part in many opportunities within athletics and the arts. This is truly a special place for education surrounded by facility and staff that know and challenge their students to be their best.

I am an HLA grad and now all of my kids are attending too! The level of Classical Education the kids are receiving is unsurpassed. The staff and faculty are amazing people that love and care for each student that comes through the doors. The kids LOVE school and thank you Jesus because I wouldnt send them anywhere else.

My four children are or have attended Hillcrest. You can find good academics, sports programs, etc. in many schools. What makes Hillcrest special and important for children, especially teenagers, is the atmosphere of camaraderie and acceptance among the students. The teachers and administration promote this, but the students live it out.

Attended high school and lived in the dorm at HLA Sophomore thru Senior year. Those three years were collectively one of the most transformative and impactful experiences of my life, especially from a faith perspective. Caring and deeply committed Christian staff/faculty/administration who regularly challenged me to live out my faith daily, not just on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. No doubt my faith grew in significant ways while attending Hillcrest. Also found plenty of academic challenge, made lifelong friends, and have incredible memories and stories that will forever conjure up an incredible amount of nostalgia for the time I spent at HLA.

My children have been so blessed by attending HLA!! The teachers and staff are absolutely amazing. They truly care about their students.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy has been a wonderful place for my two daughters who graduated from there. They expanded their worldview knowledge while also interacting with the foreign students, were challenged in their spiritual growth, received encouragement from caring teachers, learned to think for themselves and to excell. A well-worth investment in their lives and future!

We love the smaller class sizes, the Classical Christian education model of learning, and Biblical focus.

Hillcrest provides a Christ centered education with teachers and staff who genuinely love their students. My kids have had great experiences at school here and we would send them all again in a heartbeat.Hillcrest offers a wide variety of sports, with coaches who weave biblical teaching into there practices often.The classical education model that Hillcrest recently moved to is great. The idea essentially that how you learn, process, etc,,,is as important as what you learn. So....teaching kids how to learn, not just memorizing and reciting back. I think this is a great tool as these kids enter adulthood. Clasical is also leans very much on written and spoken word.We find academics to be strong at Hillcrest. The low student to teacher ratios make for easy access to intructors who care deeply about their students.The community of Fergus Falls has been great as well. Fergus has a population of about 13,000. Big enough to have what you need but still smalltown feel.

Hillcrest is phenomenal! Our son will be graduating in 2016. From an educational perspective the curriculum is challenging but not overwhelming. Our son passed the rigorous AP World History Exam, due to hard work and having an outstanding teacher! He has made lasting friendships and truly thrived at Hillcrest. He played football and enjoys the many other extracurricular activities. Most importantly he has grown as a person. Hes developed into a young man who is prepared to go out into to the world. A world class college prep boarding school with a mix of international, community and boarding students. This Christian school community is over 100 years old but renews itself regularly. Nothing old fashioned here except respect for one another and an inate desire to excel.

I have had the privilege of going to Hillcrest over the past two yearsand look forward to this upcoming year!! It is an amazing school! Students from all over the world go to this school... and the cultural education and community has been a fantastic experience! And has forever changed my life... we have devotions every night and testimonies every Friday thus leading to deeper relationships and a great community with one another! There is a wide variety of great classes that prepare and equipt you for the real world! And the sports teach responsibility and team work along with great sportsmanship! There are nights where we will just gather and sing worship songs, and never in my life have I seen a community so strong and it opened my eyes up to what real friendships based off of a Christian foundation looks Like! The staff works hard to get to know you and help you sucseed and they also will be there for you through everything! They really care! And they also work hard putting together little activities that bring dorm students and town students together that end up being so fun! Some of my greatest memories are at Hillcrest! I really cannot express the way God is working in this school, And how awesome my experience has been! 5 stars is not enough😋

The perfect place to grow into a productive, well-rounded, Christ-centered, adult. My daughter is well equipped and is making informed decisions based on a strong set of facts, beliefs, and values that matured at Hillcrest. She is now thriving and making a positive difference at JMU in Virginia.

Hillcrest Academy is the best INVESTMENT you could ever make. A solid Christian Education that prepares students for a life of significance! I am so thankful my parents gave me the opportunity to attend HLA!

Look at lots of other Minnesota private schools. Very limited classes and teachers. Academic grading scale isn’t equal to public schools and brings down GPA. Lots of teacher turnover this year and unqualified staff took over classes for long periods of time. Food often undercooked.Drugs and bullying present. Police on campus a few times for stolen property between dorm residents several times.

I attended junior year of High School here. 1980-81.Great School!Much more than an academic education.

Teachers play favorites and a lot of people are fake grading scale is unfair otherwise great school.
