My son and I have trained at Newaza for several years. I can’t say enough positive things about this Jiu Jitsu academy. The training is lead by a world class BJJ blackbelt (Rogerio) who empowers you to step out of your comfort zone and be the best you can be. This place has a true family environment where everyone helps each other to improve both on and off the mats.If you’re looking to put your child into Martial Arts this is the place they need to attend. They will learn real world confidence and self defense that will encourage them to achieve more in life and to never be a victim. From a self defense standpoint BJJ is superior than other Martial Arts as it teaches children how to control a situation that doesn’t involve punching and kicking the other person.For the adult, Newaza will be your second home. If you want to simply learn self defense and have BJJ as a hobby then Perfect. If you’re competitive by nature and want to complete then look no further. The talent pool here is deep. They have people from all walks of lives from young to older, smaller and bigger physiques, all different athletic abilities and everyone in between. This gym has been an amazing experience for me. All of the students are incredibly friendly and everyone helps everybody to learn and grow. Roger is a great coach who takes the time to show you anything you want to learn. He has a true love for the sport and it shows in his teaching and in the gym he runs. I trained in Newaza for a little over a year. The only reason I stopped was because I moved out of MA. I have never felt physically better than when training Jiu Jitsu. Not only physically but also mentally. I felt more confident and motivated; Inside and outside the gym. Roger is a great instructor and cares for his students. He truly pushes you to be the best version of yourself. One of my favorite things about Newaza was the family like ambiance. Everyone treats each other like family. They’re very welcoming and motivating. Everyone I trained with always gave me tips and advice on how to improve. As a woman, learning self defense was important to me. Training in Newaza was a great learning opportunity. I truly believe Newaza is great place to train Jiu Jitsu.

I have been with Newaza for around 2 years and this facility is amazing. Large open mat space that are always kept clean. Friendly environment with great Professors. If you are looking for place where you are not only part of a team but looked at as family this is the place.

I had a great experience there, even though I was only there for 4 weeks. This is a real serious place to train, classes 6 days a week. Sometimes work and life gets in the way of training but I went in when ever my schedule allowed me. Great class structure.*Start with the warm up that get your heart pumping, it definitely will help students stay fit, help improve breathing and cardio.*Then a technique will be thought, one technique that can be varied into 2 to 3 ways. Offensive and defensive ways are explained and demonstrated. Several times.*student get to try out and practice the technique of the day.*last part of the class is when we get to ROLL. We actually spar with all of the classmates, using everything we’ve learned to make it work. All of the students are really nice, all tried to help and guide you through the process. Somehow jujitsu make us all humble and be kind to others.Next time I return to MA I would be back to train there again.

This facility is top notch. All the instructors are solid professionals. Each class is full of dedicated practitioners of all age groups. Mr. Rogerio greeted me pleasantly and quickly answered all my questions about schedules, classes, and etiquette. If you want your jiu-jitsu to be amazing, come to this gym.
