If you are looking for a studio that’s going to teach you or your children through traditional taekwondo and not just take your money and give you a belt, then grandmaster Kim studio is hands-down the best. My son enjoys going to class and learning new skills and is corrected if doing it wrong which means a lot. Grandmaster Kim takes time to teach you and your children the correct techniques and proper positioning of true taekwondo. I highly recommend this studio!!!!

Master Kim has been a big part of my life for over 30 years. I met him in 1990. I attend his school in Okc off Britton Rd. And again later in life with my son in Edmond. He is an excellent teacher and master. I would want to be trained by anyone else. We miss you in Oklahoma. But are so proud and happy for your success in Dallas. Thank you for everything.

Master Dragon Kim’s class is terrific! Our four year old son loves attending but has shown drastic improvement in his attentiveness and focus. Master Dragon Kim is very good with kids and a great teacher.

My 6 year old son, 5 and 3 year old daughters recently joined the Dragon Kims taekwondo after my husband researched the best traditional taekwondonear the flower mound area. We were pleasantly surprised how passionate Mr Kim was and how patient he is. My son and daughters enjoy the class and learn traditional teakwondo kicks and forms every day. At this age, their interests tend to change daily but they keep loving it.My kids will learn how to focus, listen, follow instruction, confidence through Mr. Kims class. He always welcomes all the kids and parents.

I started TKD when I was a teenager with another school. My first Master had very high standards. As I went off to college/grad school and moved around over the years, I had a hard time finding another school that met my expectations. And then Master Kim moved to our area.I started my son first. Master Kim is excellent at teaching children and very patient. Shortly thereafter, I enrolled too and just recently got my black belt (after 25 years of starting TKD!). I have been very pleased at the progress both my son and I made in the last two years.

Grand Master Jin-young Kim has been my Taekwondo instructor since 1982. He is one of the best, most knowledgeable Taekwondo instructors in the world. Everyone who trains with him is fortunate to train with the best.

Grand Master Kim is an excellent instructor and is very good with our young daughter.I have trained in taekwondo many years ago and I wanted my daughter to experience the same training I once had. There are many schools that train you but most are non-traditional training centers (I searched the Lantana, Flower Mound, and Highland Village schools but found none). Once I walked into Dragon Kims I knew it was the traditional school I was looking for. Without previous training in the arts, the importance of a traditional school might not be fully appreciated, but believe me, theres a reason why taekwondo is an ancient art.One day my daughter will hopefully be a black belt and perhaps I can also re-train myself back to a high belt.Highly recommended!!

I have not had a chance to be at Grand Master Kims school but I have been blessed to meet him and to experience his teaching, training and more. His can do attitude is second to none. I recently enrolled my seven year old son at Master Dragon Kim’s in Highland Village. I must say. Both my wife are pleasantly surprised. My son had gone to another local Taekwondo school for six months but we stopped taking him after they insisted on charging me when we took an extended family vacation and he was out of class for over two months. Over the next year or so I put him in various other sports from then on, including flag football, basketball, and soccer. But, he would mention every so often that he missed Taekwondo, so we decided to try out Dragon Kim’s since it’s by our house in Lantana. I regularly go to Korea on business and I was in Taekwondo for about five years as a child. All I can say is... this gentleman is the real deal. He’s a ninth degree black belt which is about as far as you can get. He has an impressive history and background. Read about him!This is not some guy teaching Taekwondo for money. He teaches for his livelihood, sure, but you can tell it’s his life. It’s his passion. And he’s a bad a**!!! He’s a true, old school, highly disciplined, highly trained, highly experienced Grand Master of Taekwondo that is legendary and one of the best Masters in the world.And on top of all that, Master Kim is respectful and very personable. He also aims to teach that respect to his students. Master Kim is older now but he’s lean, tough as nails, and a real expert. I heard you couldn’t even get time with him back in the day. I’d bet lots of my hard earned money that Master Kim can run circles around ALL of the other Taekwondo and Karate instructors around all of DFW. He’s the real deal and we are lucky to have him. If you are considering any sort of martial art for your child, I most HIGHLY recommend Master Kim!!! His teaching is about respect, honor, discipline, sport, Taekwondo, self defense, fitness, and ones overall well-being for the LONG term. On my sons first day with Master Kim I could tell my son would not only learn to defend himself, but that he’d benefit overall, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Seriously, bring your kids here. He teaches adults too, and I highly recommend him for adults as well.

Grand Master Kim is one of the best taekwondo masters in the world, he still continues to train. I completed in his tournament in 1994, when I saw how talented he was I looked up to him as a role model. After 25 years later I got to meet him again and traveled to go train with him at his school in flower mound, Dallas. My friend and I went to see his school and how nice it was. He was very knowledgeable and still very active, even as a grand master9th-degree black belt he still does demos and is very famous in the USA and South Korea. To me, his lessons are priceless because of everything that he knows. To anyone who has the opportunity to train at his school, I highly recommend it. I wish I was able to train with him more if I was closer to his school.

I have been here since November. I am an adult in my mid 20s. I went to another academy before this one. Im very happy that I made the move to his gym. Grand Master Jim Young Kim is amazing! He is very patient with the young children. As an adult, going to class with little kids, its actually great! He treats all of us the same. Unlike most instructors, he shows his students the details in every move. I guarantee you will get a workout in his classes! He welcomes you to come to class everyday. He knows everyones name, including the parents. He is a very welcoming man. Also, on top of getting into shape, learning self-defense, and learning to be obedient in his classes, you get to learn Korean language. I highly recommend every child and adult to learn under him!

We’ve been looking for the best martial arts place in the area for a few months. In fact we’ve tried over 8 locations. We finally found the best Taekwondo place in the area Dragon Kims Taekwondo. Master Kim is a 9th degree blackbelt and leads every class. He has 61 years of experience. We found that many of the other schools have a junior blackbelt that leads the class. Master Kim promotes discipline, health, respect, but also makes it fun. My husband took many different martial arts in the San Fran area and has high standards. Master Kim exceeded all of his expectations and mine. Classes are Monday - Friday and every other Saturday. If you’re looking for the best, then come and check him out. It’s his life’s passion and I’m thankful my kids and I are learning from the best.
