A very bad experience- we had signed up for summer camp and communicated to the director the possibility (not certainty) that we might need to start a week later due to home renovations that had delayed our move and were creating issues for our family. Next thing we know, we received an email saying that our son could not be accepted to the school for summer camp at all or for the year ahead. Terrible reaction, lack of empathy, no interest to familiarize herself with the unique situation we were faced with and the opposite of what Montessori values and believes in. Would definitely not recommend!

“Every day my child is looking forward to coming to The International Montessori School of Fort Lauderdale. He enjoys very much his time in school and learning new things every day. He participates in a variety of activities and events and enjoys both his teachers Ms. Norma and Ms. Julia and his classmates company. He is having a great time and lots of fun too!”. My son loves very much his school.

My son previously attended another AMI Montessori School and Ms. Norma was his Primary teacher during his first year there. Ms. Norma was such an incredible blessing for my son and our family. My son was delayed in social skills and speech, but very ahead in academics. To the untrained eye (anyone outside of our family), his potential wasn’t very noticeable due to his speech delay. Ms. Norma actually took the time to read books about his diagnosis and truly understand him. She saw his potential, nurtured it, challenged him and he flourished. Ms. Norma wasn’t just his teacher, she was his friend and trusted caregiver while we worked. We had complete faith that she would watch over him like she would a child of her own and she did. In addition to challenging him in academics, she also helped him with social skills and we saw a definite improvement over his year in her class. I can’t recommend Ms. Norma enough. It’s not easy to find a teacher like Ms. Norma these days — a teacher who teaches because it’s so much more than a day job...it’s a passion...a true calling. Thank you, Ms. Norma. We are forever grateful and wish you the best of success with your new school.

My son was a student of Ms. Normas for several years and he still remembers her fondly. Her enthusiasm and passion for teaching instilled a love of learning in him that he continues to carry with him today. Ms. Norma is kind, patient, resourceful, loving, prepared, well educated and was a true inspiration to my son as well as to our family. We highly recommend Ms. Norma and her school to any family interested in an authentic Montessori experience for their child.

Miss Norma was one of the first teachers of my son and I cannot thank her enough. The school start was very smooth, Ms. Norma really cares about each and every of her students and does everything possible to help them do their best. She was very helpful and doing extra things if necessary to help my son (who didn’t speak English when he started the school). The communication on child progress was always excellent and sufficient. The Montessori system and the professional and passionate teacher was the best combination for my curious and active child.

I am very pleased with International Montessori School. I am so happy there is a Montessori school in the downtown Fort Lauderdale area.Even when inquiring Ms Norma was always quick to reply and flexible with meeting times for me.During these unprecedented times of the pandemic IMS has gone above and beyond to take safety and health precautions for themselves and our children. They are trying to keep our children happy and un-phased by by the changes that have had to happen by allowing in-school birthday events with the students, and holiday parties and shows. We are always getting pictures and videos of what our children are doing. My son comes home every day with beautiful art work and singing songs. I love the personal one on one time he is getting with the teachers as well.I am so thankful for a safe and clean school for my son to continue his education.

My son has had the privilege of having Ms. Norma as a teacher for over 3 years. He first attended Ms. Norma’s class while diagnosed with a speech delay. He had to attend speech therapy weekly but she was the only one who was able to get him to speak! He has learned so much while in her care. I cannot thank her enough. I can honestly say that she is extremely passionate about the Montessori method and she transfers that same passion to her students. My son has also been with Ms. Julia for 2 years now and her psychology background is such a great bonus for the students! My son loves how soft spoken and sweet she is. They are both truly great teachers who deeply believe in each of their students. You can feel the love and serenity as soon as you walk through the door. My son loves going to school every day and that’s a huge relief for a first time mom like me! :)

My family has had the pleasure of having Ms. Norma as an educator for approximately 5 years. The journey has been wonderful for both of my children. The intellectual and emotional development of my children thrived under her watchful and caring eyes. My children have had other teachers but none have demonstrated the level of professionalism and compassion exhibited by Ms. Norma. As a parent who has had children in a different Montessori School in the past, International Montessori School of Fort Lauderdale is the only montessori facility I would recommend.

We are so thankful for this sweet little school. The teachers are so kind and respectful to the students and in turn the children are also kind and respectful to their peers. It is amazing to watch the calm energy of the class and all of the different ages working so well together. We love that the children are autonomous and encouraged to make their own choices. We feel lucky to be a part of IMS.

My son thrived under Ms. Norma’s instruction. He was the youngest student in her class and she guided him with love, patience and encouragement. Ms. Norma was communicative to us as parents whenever any issues arose. She’s dedicated to her students and the Montessori principles.

As working parents, we try to be realistic about the amount of time that we have to consistently teach our child/children the skills that they need to be successful when they enters school. So when searching for a pre-school, curriculum and a focus on education were top on our list. We really feel that children are sponges at this age and if given the opportunity will soak up all that there is to offer. The curriculum that International Montessori School of Fort Lauderdale follows is absolutely amazing. Our son has been developing exceptional skills in geography, early math and reading preparation. The instruction he receives and the teachers dedication to inspiring pre-schoolers to learn far surpasses any expectations that we had. The teachers are so positive and it is completely apparent how much they care for the children. Ms. Norma, the school’s director, is completely committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment for children. She has done an amazing job staffing the school with teachers that are just as committed. Beyond our happiness with the school is our sons, which is most important. He cannot wait to leave for school every morning. We are absolutely thrilled to have found an environment that is allowing our son to flourish and preparing him for his future education, while at that same time providing him an opportunity to have fun with the friends he has made. We highly recommend the International Montessori School of Fort Lauderdale.
