I attended MPT for my AEC1&2 courses and loved the entire experience. Kind, witty, and funny teachers taught me much more than I expected. Ill be attending for other maritime courses in the future. And you should too.

I took my masters captains license here and had a good experience. The captain Chris Chavez the instructor knew what he was talking about and was a great teacher.

I visited MPT today and spoke with Miss Teri and she was extremely helpful, polite, and knowledgeable about all the needs that I had. She made sure that I had all of the necessary information so that I could successfully accomplish renewing my Captains license

Just went through their Master Captains course, every staff member I talked to was very professional and friendly. It is a lot of information to take in in two weeks, but my instructor (C. Chavez) was very patient and was able to simplify and thoroughly explain anything I didnt fully comprehend. I will definitely recommend MPT to anyone who is wanting to further their maritime training. Big shout out to the ladies that work the front desk as well! I know that they most likely deal with some silly questions and big egos on a daily basis, but any time I saw them they always had a smile on their face and a positive attitude. Very awesome experience overall!

Go to Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service in Galveston, its no doubt the best Fast Rescue Boat class I have ever taken in my many years working in the Offshore Industry. Instructors are top notch retired Coasties who know their job and actually teach you.Loved the location and will go back anytime for other schools they provide.

Having been to many maritime schools. This one is by far the best. The instructors are in or were in the industry and teach not only how to pass the test but real world knowledge. The admin staff are amazing, you tell them your end result and theyll tell you all the classes you need to get there. Ive rarely been upselled for classes I didnt need. They cover USCG and MCA. Commercial and yachting. Engineering to steward dept. And all things safety basic to advanced.

I echo Ben Dovers sentiments.Unless youre already employed in the maritime industry, dont waste your time and energy. There is a glut of overqualified people jumping at the chance to get a commercial/yacht/boat career and unless you know someone in your personal network, its all just posturing.The best part is the old woman that flexes her authority at the career seminar about how if you rub her the wrong way, shell blacklist you from the maritime industry.They are teaching, because the industry is dying and being over-run by international workers.

I just did my STCW with them and they are awesome. I would recommend them to anyone. Everyone was very helpful and the courses are awesome

Not all but most of the staff is unfriendly and honestly quite rude.Very much a they doing you a favour attitude and not much willingness to help throughout the whole time being there.

Great place for FCC certifications, kind staff. Always VERY busy office, so bring patience, but they get it done!

The professors are all experts in their field, and they are all of kind demeanor. World-class instruction. If you want training, you need to come here.Furthermore, I can tear apart any review on here with a one-star rating. As a professional with twenty years in the industry, every negative review of MPT comes down to attitude and listening. For example, RFPNW actually is mandatory for most AB’s on commercial vessels, where people actually care about that rating. As far as ‘rude’ staff, these people are in command - they must quickly distinguish issues and direct others on precise career objectives which the Coast Guard makes difficult on a minute-to-minute basis. If your comprehension is not great as mine was not, the staff will slowly explain it to you if they must. Money Grubbing Skanks! They dont teach you, They Tell you what you need to know then its up to you to figure out how to teach your self. If you really want to learn something save your money and dont go there. They hard sell you, knock all the other guys. But when it comes time to deliver they fall way short. Dont let the fancy ads and boasting about their 45,000 sq ft building. Walmarts got a big building too but sell cheap crap from China. Every book you need for class..Youll have to buy because they have a bookstore that needs to profit. Some schools actually loan you the texts needed instead of forcing you to buy one that you may only use once anyhow. It all boils down to, Money Grubbing Skanks They are the stinky underwear of the maritime training industry.

This training is priceless for any Mariner engaged in, or wanting to advance in their field. Your school has provided the most efficient use of time spent, for my present work and into the future.
