Availability of classes and locations is extensive and works with the busiest of practitioners schedules. We have talked with practitioners who have attended other training providers and found that everyone feels like ESI is more comprehensive.

I recently attended two Esthetic Skin Institute seminars: Botulinum Toxin A and Dermal Fillers. Dr. Michael Lum taught both courses.As a provider for pediatric and special health care populations, I was seeking a course that included careful guidelines for patient consultation and selection, contraindications, appropriate indications, side effects, and diligence to technique.Not only did Dr. Lum deliver on all of the criteria, but also he is a very professional and an extremely careful and conscientious provider. As a presenter, his technique is calm, knowledgeable, and his information is well organized and comprehensible. The lecture slides are provided for attendees in a bound form, eliminating the need for excessive writing so that more attention can be given to the lecture. Additionally, it is great to have a chart with the available products, their qualities and features, and their most appropriate applications. Further, the educational material includes 8.5”x11” resource cards of facial muscles/direction of muscle movement and recommended dosage applications; wrinkle severity rating scale; and common injection areas for Botulinum Toxin A for specific conditions and dosing information.Dr. Lum inspires confidence with his broad knowledge base. As an experienced provider, he shares many, many anecdotes from actual patient care. Because he humbly shares his early mistakes alongside his successes, I believe that I have gained a significant educational advantage by learning how to avoid certain consequences. For providers, the most important feature of these two courses is how Dr. Lum frames his lectures with utmost consideration for patient safety.Patient-centered and with an overarching attention to safety, Dr. Lum’s seminar relieves much of the nervous tension related to delivering treatment to live patients during training.By endorsing evidence-based clinical guidelines at all times and demonstrating prudence when delivering these minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Lum gives providers who are new to these techniques the self-assurance to successfully incorporate them into their practices.I look forward to continuing my training with Dr. Lum through the Esthetic Skin Institute.Dr. Elizabeth Prishkulnik
