Love this school. The administration has shown that they truly care about my childs education. They worked with him and demonstrated their knowledge and abilities to properly educate my child. I also think its a great family oriented atmosphere. Overall extremely satisfied with SMCA... Go Wildcats!!!

I hate the place

Putting my kids at Six Mile Charter Academy has been the best decision I have ever made. The teachers and staff are all wonderful. They have a zero tolerance for bullying and that is something I admire. My son was being bullied at his previous school and they have made him feel safer than ever. They have the students interest at heart and it truly shows. I highly recommend this school.

My daughter have been at six mile charter academy for 3 years now, and we love this school. There always tutoring for all who need, good teachers and always they have been very nice at the office when I need to check out my daughter. Im grateful for this school and that my daughter have one more year next year. So far I have no complaints.

I recommend this school , my children has been here going on three years . I am very well involve with my kids teachers and school staff . Everyone is very helpful very kind and respectful . Every staff member is honestly there to help the students and the parents . My children have received nothing but the best from this school . If I ever had an issue (which was always a minor one ) they will solve that problem as quickly as possible . I would love to mention so many great staff member that has been involve with my children and making sure they get the help they need on a daily base . From principal to assistant principal to lunch staff member to class room teachers nurse staff and front desk office to the disciplinary teacher . All around everyone involve is just amazing . I honestly can’t say one thing wrong about this school . They’ve made my kids feel at home the moment I moved to fort Myers almost three years ago . 5 stars ⭐️ from me for this school .

My daughter has attended Six Mile Charter since kindergarten. Six Mile Charter is a wonderful student friendly school that provides tutoring, use of computers to students in need. My whole family is part of the Six Mile Charter Family. . My daughter is treated with respect and kindness by all staff at school. I wouldn’t go anywhere else because this school provides everything my daughter needs to exceed.

As a fellow student at this school I must say this school is completely unprofessional. To start, the office staff absolutely hate most of the older kids, their faces are basically made of steel and out of the four years Ive attended I doubt Ive ever seen anyone on in the lobby crack a smile. Another main point is the obvious fact where the school can not keep a teacher in that school. Last year I had four different Spanish teachers resulting in a failure of that class at the end of the year because nobody bothered to keep a lesson going for more than a day or two. The kids are often sent out of class for beyond unnecessary reasons, and given referrals for raising their hand and asking a question, which is cruel because isnt that taking away from a childs education? Being sent out of class four times a week? The cafeteria food is beyond disgusting. The fact that I can pull a strand of hair out of each item of my food is concerning, ignoring the fact that most of the time your food is either stolen or thrown away. And its sad that I could type so much more but the simple fact that for one, nobody would do anything about this. And two, wed be here for a long time if i went on. But for now please take this as a notice and think before sending your child here.- A student at Six Mile Charter Academy, a leadership school.

I was a legacy well still am. This school has taught me so much and the teachers are the best. I wouldn’t be where I am without them which makes me sad to think about.Once a wildcat always a wildcatClass of 2023!!

Probably one of the worst schools in Fort Myers. Half of the teachers and the office could care less about u and what u need. My daughter has had 10 different teachers and have all quit they can’t keep any teacher for at least a month at this school. There is a lot of bullying. And if something goes missing you’ll probably never get it back and towards end of the school year my daughter was giving attitude towards the staff and I don’t blame her. Don’t send your child here send them somewhere where they’ll get a good education and have a safe environment!

This school since day 1 ((actually even before my daughter was enrolled)) has went above and beyond on helping me and my children! Teachers and staff are amazing!!! My daughter enjoys going to school and feels accepted! Love this school!!!

This is not a school that I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a quality learning environment with experienced professionals who are dedicated to helping their child reach their educational goals. This school allows personnel to lead instruction of children still in their early developmental stages without completing certification. The front office staff has no knowledge of anything that is going on throughout the school and administration seems as if they are incapable of dealing with children without calling the parent.

My son is having such a great year at Six Mile Charter Academy! He leaves the house in the morning eager and comes home feeling accomplished and proud when he reaches his goals at school. Go Wildcats!

My children have been going to this GREAT school since kindergarten. My son is now moving on to high school, and my daughter is in the 4th grade.My children have been essentially A students throughout. I have had MANY parent- teacher, conferences, much contact with the Awesome dean of students, as well as MANY other faculty members from all over the school. I have NEVER encountered an unfriendly, unhelpful, or unknowledgeable, faculty member or person ever in all these years! I am confident in saying that my children have had an excellent education experience there every single year!I am so pleased with the education they have received there, when initially was concerned about what negative things I heard, or read about , regarding “Charter Schools” in general. None of the “negative “ things I read or heard about has EVER transpired at this institution in our experiences there. I can personally say that I would never in a minute hesitate to recommend this very fine school to any parent thinking about it.Many thanks to all the wonderful folks there that have helped my children, and myself!Scott Murr

My son has been going there since K , now hes in 5th grade and i couldnt be any happier with the staff ! if there is an issue with anything they resolve it right away. My son loves it there we highly recommend this school to any new parents looking to place their kids here ! :)

This school is top notch! All of the teachers take an extra interest in the students. Our kids will be attending here throughout junior high.

This school is horrible. My daughter has been being bullyed for quite sometime. Because of this bullying my daughter had an altercation at the school Thursday where a boy hit her repeatedly in the face.I had to take her to the hospital where they told me she had a concussion. She has a swollen jaw and cuts on her face and neck. We had a meeting at the school and they did nothing. She has been called the n word, zebra cause shes mixed and monkey, and thats only a few. The school lunches have mold. Last year my grandson was parent pick up and they put him on a bus. AN hour and 20 min later he was returned to the school. There is nothing positive about this school. Its a disgrace and the principal could careless. This is the worst school you could ever put your kids in! So I now sit here with my daughter whos in terrible pain from being beaten by a Caucasian boy who was 3 times here size. I hope no parent has to go through any of this. One way to prevent that is by not putting your child in this school. Bullying is real! Definitely in this school!!

I am not afraid to point out the flaws of this terrible school. I came in fourth grade and now am in sixth grade. Now for the time I have been at this school, the same chain of events happen each and every time. Ill just point out a few important things. For the time I have been at this god forsaken school, I have noticed the terrible quality of their food. Second to mention, the staff is quite a unique bunch. The front staff never smile and are incredibly rude. The nurses dont do much. Probably check your temperature and send you on your way. As a student, I have been to the nurses office multiple times and a nurse who shows up from time to time is EXTREMELY rude. I wont say names, but she is incredibly rude. Now when it comes to teachers, oh boy. We can not keep a teacher for a week. The school year has not even ended and weve already went through five teachers for my seventh period class. Now, I have been PUSHED by a teacher before. The teachers are impatient, inconsiderate, and somewhat idiotic when it comes to the students needs. A teacher in my fifth and sixth block period is a teacher absolutely no one likes.Drama is BIG at this crap-tastic school. There are many fights, including one that a student bruised another students lip.But also, no adult at that school takes in the personal problems of the students at the school. I, my self, am bullied constantly as I am the first transgender student at the school.

Both of my kids have gone here since kindergarten. We have had great teachers, my kids have made excellent grades. I would highly recommend this school!

I absolutely LOVE this school!!! We came from the district schools where its over crowded, inexperienced teachers and little to no communication between teachers and parents. It has been such a wonderful experience, my children arent just making grade level they have gone above and beyond!

Absolutely love this school! My friends children look forward to attending school everyday as they make it a fun and safe environment for everyone!

This school has wonderful security keeping the children safe and an excellent academic program that is up-to-date to enhance the childrens minds.

Amazing how this school is still standing 7 months after my son left. At least ONCE a week hed come home and say that someone stole his food or bullied him. Never send your kid here unless you want him/her to come home complaining about a student hitting them or have his/her food be taken.

My kids have been here for 5 years. Teachers are great and very patient with their students! But my kids do complain about the school food constantly. And God forbid you ever have to deal with the front office staff. They never smile and are always rude.. Extremely insensitive. If it werent for the teachers Id pull them out.

Please do not send your child to this awful school, the teachers they hire for the year end up quitting the 2nd day of school, and it takes several weeks for them to find a replacement. This is not a school you want to send your child to, you will have a terrible educational experience.

The teachers are transient - she had three teachers in one school year, the staff is beyond remiss in communicating with parents. I was mildly impressed with the curriculum until my child switched schools and I discovered she was not at all on the level they reported she was in some areas was BEHIND. I am just glad we are no longer at the school.

My kid got trash tossed on her lunch and table by 5+ kids in a cafeteria & yelled at to EAT IT plenty of teachers were there no one stopped it another child did ! Bullying is baddddd bad teachers and guidance told her youre a tough kid youll be ok instead of correcting issue i was told if my kid faught back to countless assaults erasers kid hitting her she would be suspended BTW THOSE GREAT REVIEWS 2 MONTHS AGO. THEY DID A CONTEST WHO EVER WROTE THE BEST REVIEW ON HERE WOULD GET A PRIZE so dont believe the hype i can post a pic of the email but they know its true & probably dont want more embarrassment then what the school already is if you dont want youre kid assaulted or bullying to the point of depression steer clear !!

Placing my kids in six mile charter has been the best decision. I have successfully had 1 of my kids go from kindergarten through 8th grade, he is now in highschool and thriving. I currently have 3 more there from their outstanding VPK program all the way through middle school. The school has great security measures , they are so supportive inside and outside of school, the teachers are compassionate and the principal is very hands on. Ms. Colla, Ms. Kinuinen and Mr.Camaraca are my absolute favorites. They have been there so many years and are amazing with my kids. I am very happy with the education level and the core values they help me instill in my kids. I highly recommend all parents to consider this school. Thank you !!! Mrs.Rodriguez proud SMCA parent

Not completely bad. Some teachers there actually make learning FUN, which anyone can appreciate. However, sometimes that fun makes the learning process slow, which can be bad. But the school has its flaws, Im not gonna say Six Mile is a perfect school. A complaint I see a lot, though, is that Six Mile is full of bullies. Thats untrue. As of 2016, 10% of the school consists of bullies. Today, its more like 5%. Most of the people who have reviewed about bullies probably had it happen to only them. Im a student there, and I was only bullied one year. The rest of the time I was there I had no problems. Most entitled kids would probably talk about the teachers and staff being so horrible. But thats because the teachers and staff actually gave them bad grades for not doing work. Wow! Who wouldve thought that if you dont work for something, you dont get it? Its so amazing!TL;DR:The school has flaws, but most of the complaints are unrealistic, or are complete baloney.

This school is not a school that i would recommend putting your kids in unless you want your kid to get bullied. and please listen to me when i say that cause ive been a student at this school for 8 years! im currently in the sixth grade. this school has horrible staff members and the teachers could care less about what goes on! me and my siblings have been bullied at this school several times and we have talk to the admin their and they have done nothing! one teacher their has looked through a girls purse while she went to the bathroom!! and another has hoped for one to get shot! their teachers just hand out work and expect the students to do it and dont teach them! and dont get me started on the racist people and staff here! they judge people on the way they look! there is fights, use of drugs here, and one guy sprayed pepper spray int he vents and we had to evacuate the building! its on the news search it up! they litrally called DCF on 2 parents that confronted them for not helping the bullied students out! but im not gonna say anything else cause i would be here all night! but just know not to put your kids in this school AT ALL!

So my daughter went to this school for a month because we have just came to florida and this school was the closest at where we were and trust me this school is horrible they bully you for the most stupid things so there was some kids who would brag and make my daughyer feel horrible they would tell her that she was cheap and poor and that they could not be friends with her because she did not get new shoes every week which is so dumb and we finally found a nice home for our family but it was in lehigh so while the process while moving yo a new school was a week and that whole week we would drive 40 to 45 min drive which was hard to not be late and my daughter would tell me that whole week that the teachers would give her the dirtiest looks ever which is not exeptable and one more thing if you lose something your definitely not getting it back so my daugjter left her jacket in class one day and the next day the teacher said she put in the lost and found because she did not know who it was but the thing is her jacket had her name on it but we were like whatever so we went to lost and found and it was not there so we never got it back oh i almost forgot the teachers did not understand that some kids cant do their homework through computers my other older daughter was in college whoch ment my daughter would not be able to use the computer as much which ment she would not be able to do homework and the teachers would get mad when my daughter will not be able to finish which me and my daughter explaineto the teacher but when I left the classroom the teacher literally acreamed at my daughter which had no reason to but knoa my daughter stayed in her new school with her new friends were the teachers are so nice and now my daughter is going to middle school and please dont put your kid in this school unless you want ylur kid to suffer

My daughter has gone here since she as in Kindergarten and we absolutely love it. We have nothing but amazing teachers she will be going into 4th grade next year and we intend to stay here until she graduates out!

I am a student at smca and the teachers are sometimes rude and sometimes nice. And they sometimes say I dont have paper or I dont have glue sticks and that gets me a little annoyed because they do have all those things. But the bathrooms need improvement. The second floor bathroom stalls were carved with cuss words.

At the moment i am currently a sophmore in high school and i can say one thing for sure is that the teachers are rude , non helpful , the dont care about there students. i attended this school during my 4th and 5th grade year and i can say i came out barely learning anything only a severe case of depression due to how bad the bullying was here and a learning deficiency. all i can say is that it s not the best

This place is so trash. Being a student here since kindergarden is just horrid. Their Cambridge system isnt good. Kids with 2.7 gpas are in the advanced classes. The teachers are horrible (excluding some). Ive seen several teachers who dont care at all and have directly told the students theyre only there for the money and because of the lack of funds of the school we have to deal with the teachers. Students can put in as many help tickets they want but the only way the teacher still wont be inspected or anything. Some of your teachers are dumber than the actual students, not to point out any names. The nurse is always unavailable or at lunch and you cant go to her unless youre like dying. This school is more leniant to the white students. A kid brought a KNIFE to school and got expelled but his parents talked to the administration and got back in even though he gets suspended constantly. On the other hand a kid got punched and then yelled at administration and then got expelled. The lower grades at the school are fine but from 5th-8th grade is where it gets bad. Although the students there are trash, theyre slightly better than regular public schools because of the smaller amount of students but honestly, save yourself the money (because of the expensive uniform) and your time and your childs time and send them to a regular public school.
