My children LOVE this school – from the teachers the students to the challenging curriculum. Fort Worth Academy integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. The administration is open minded and think outside the box to make Fort Worth Academy a successful educational experience for the students. My favorite part about Fort Worth Academy is knowing that they are committed to teaching the whole child, their approach is innovative and invaluable in fully preparing my children to be active participants in an ever changing world! We LOVE this school.

We discovered Fort Worth Academy by accident while reviewing another perspective, educational opportunity for our children. Our first meeting with the Head of School was a friendly and refreshing encounter. Right away we were impressed with his professionalism. But, most important, we discovered he cares about education and educating kids. Theres no better feeling knowing your kids are in the hands of someone who cares and is deeply committed to education, in general, teaching your children in particular. We also loved the small classroom environment. I think the student to teacher ratio is 12:1. Thats important for one of our daughters who enjoys talking to her teachers. Socially engaging her teachers is her way to processes information. At other educational institutions, her friendly personality is penalized. But at this school her chattiness is channeled in the right direction. If you want a school where the administration and faculty care about the whole child while maintaining a competitive academic experience with a personal touch and high parental engagement, look no further!

We wanted a more dynamic education for our children. Went to Academy three years ago for an open house just to see the school and decided pretty quickly that it felt like the right place. The lower school is innovative and adaptive. The teachers value the students as individuals and quickly tune in to their strengths and weaknesses. The curriculum is inline with the other private schools in the area but the delivery is completely unique. Visit the school and you will see kids full of joy in an open, safe and nurturing environment.

My son came to Fort Worth Academy in the 3rd grade; we had moved from St. Louis, the place he knew as home. The transition was challenging, but my boy is not shy and approached the schools amazing head, Bill Broderick, and shared with him his former schools great project, THE EGG DROP. Suffice it to say that the school is now celebrating its own, very innovative fifth year doing an egg drop. What is significant about this experience is that the Academy, and its amazing faculty and staff, are responsive to the innovative spirit of its students. This experience not only helped my son feel more a part of a new school, but he had the chance to actually do the work and to demonstrate how to be a leader and a follower all at the same time.

LOVE THIS SCHOOL! My kids are confident learners - they are not intimidated when faced with something new or different in the classroom. Even though that is a huge part of why the education they receive from Fort Worth Academy is so special, its not the only reason. My children are kind, respectful, inquisitive and incredibly technologically capable - at a range of ages! I am extremely grateful to the faculty and administrators at the school for cultivating an environment where my children feel safe enough to challenge themselves and others - which facilitates their development. The bottom line: kids dont get lost in the shuffle or go through the motions at this school. Every child is known for his or her many unique traits.

FWA has been an amazing experience for our family! Innovation and project-based learning are not hype words but a way of life. They are challenged yet allowed to discover different paths to the same solution. FWA molds our boys not only through strong academic learning but also through strong leadership skills. FWA is truly a holistic learning environment where children use the technology of today as a tool in every class and not as a lab only.

Our children are in the 6th grade at the Academy and have been students here since kindergarten. I am a former teacher, and cannot imagine a better way to do school than the Academy way. Our kids learn in a completely different environment than I ever experienced in my own education or even as a teacher. The small class sizes mean each of my children are given personalized attention - specific to challenge their strengths and help them where they struggle. Theyve been allowed to advance to higher grade levels in some courses where they have a particular affinity and excel. The project based learning model that is incorporated in most if not all classes has them so engaged in learning that Im not sure they even realize how complicated the concepts are that they are mastering. From what I understand, the teacher poses a question, gives some basic parameters and the kids go from there with the teacher acting as a mentor coming back with more challenging questions. This is not group projects like Ive ever seen before! Technology has been seamlessly integrated and embraced at every grade level. They arent being taught how to use tech - they almost instinctively know that, but they use it to enhance the learning, and to connect with a global community of learners. If you havent seen the schools videos on You Tube, check out the one on a Cricket in Times Square, and youll see my kids 3rd grade class exemplifying both the project based learning and the technology integration. Socially, my kids each have their own friends and the whole grade feels like a family of extended cousins. There are so many opportunities for leadership development at every level - all of the things youd expect, but then some really unexpected ones like an egg drop project where the 3rd grade creates a project management team for the event and the 5th grade learns the science for the actual egg drop. Theres probably a video of that somewhere, too. Since 5th grade both my athlete and my not previously athletic child have played school sports in each season. They both love it. We have great coaches. Every player gets to play and the virtues of team work and good sportsmanship are the focus. Its been a joy to watch the kids who are great athletes work with those who havent played before and celebrate every small victory for their friend. This is probably much more than you wanted to read, but I cant say enough about how incredible Fort Worth Academy has been. Its a hidden gem. You wont get a better education at a bigger school, and the K-8 model has significant benefits over K-12. You really need to visit the school.

We started out daughter mid-year 7th grade. The academics are great, and it was really easy for her to find her place socially. We have found it to be very welcoming. She is now in 8th grade and while excited to be headed to high school, she will miss FWA.

We came to Fort Worth Academy because our preschool director recommended the school for our son. We could not have landed in a better place! The small classroom sizes really make a difference; no teacher is overwhelmed by an oversized classroom. The smaller size of the school enables our children to know and be known by everyone so they are very comfortable there. The lessons are very relevant to real life, practical, everyday living experiences. The ELI Initiative program (Entrepreneurship/Leadership/Innovation) is making a difference, as evidenced by our ten-year-old daughter. She prepared a presentation for us on why she needs a cell phone, complete with Powerpoint slides, graphs, benefits for us, cost, etc. We were so impressed by her unsolicited initiative! For those who are concerned that this school is K-8th Grade rather than K-12th, I would say that part of the reality of life is that students must move from high school to college anyway. Changing schools for 9th Grade will be good practice and good experience for the student. And I am confident that the preparation that our children receive at The Academy will ensure they are ready to move up.The entire experience of The Academy should be the norm, not the exception!
