Please do not send your kids to this college, and if your child is set on going here please make sure they are informed of everything they’ll have to deal with before choosing this college!I’m frankly disappointed and frustrated that nothing has been done about this place! The only black college here and they have ran it into the ground! Aren’t you embarrassed by that?! No one wants to answer the phones, no one wants to guide the students, except for the small amount that actually care. It should not be this difficult to get an education! You all are setting these young adults up to hate the college experience and you should be ashamed!If things don’t get better, which I doubt they will.. I hope you all are shut down!Oh and to add: having your employees leave good reviews isn’t going to help when you have actual students stressed to the max and crying their eyes out because they can’t find some guidance!! Which is what y’all are paid for!!

Year three and it possess the same lack of professionalism and lack of organization as before.(Despite the New Administration) Dorm Check-in at 8 am and no one there. Process didnt get started until 8:30 with nursing orientation to begin at 9am. (By the way whose idea was it to have nursing orientation on the same day as Dorm move in) I then had them tell me that my daughters bill has increased as they no longer have Missouri on the list of states that receive in state tuition. So she owes $4,000 this semester after financial aid.(Who has that just sitting around...NOT I) My daughters dorm accommodations were not presented in timely manner which caused for additional drama with getting her settled. The icing on the cake was that not any of the sanitizer stations were filled and several hall bathrooms didnt have soap. My daughter just called and stated that her air is out in her room.I will be contacting both state and federal officials to begin an audit and investigation on the recruiting practices along with the practices & procedures within the administrative offices such as financial aid, bursar, and other student services as my students records dont show a Thoroughbred scholarship nor the in state tuition assistance. My daughter is sticking it out because she feels she has come to far to allow the lackluster attitudes of the powers that be to stop her from pursuing her nursing dreams.Save yourself the headache

Pleasant staff and seems like a good college. Chandler hall needs updating, but overall good experience.

Kentucky State University is the best education for the spend. You also get a second chance and also a small class size with more opportunities to lead.

I only took one class and that was enough to know how bad this school is. DON’T GO HERE! All they do is waste your time and money. I got a scholarship to take a course for free but because THEY didn’t do the correct paper work, they are making ME pay for their mistakes. For the past 6 months I’ve talked to at least 5 different people here and they all just told me to talk to someone else. So finally I talked to someone who didn’t work here and they said that KSU didn’t do what they we’re supposed to with the scholarships so now everyone who took the course has to pay out of pocket when they we’re promised a full scholarship for the course. Don’t go here! All they want it to take your money and lie about it.

KSU Nursing students are great. They were very engaged with the NCLEX review class!

YMCA uses this pool, as the only option for Y members. The pool itself is not too bad, except hard to hear, so we cant do music with class. The locker rooms however, majorly rusty lockers, the water is scalding hot (cant put your face under), and no swimsuit ringer. I am thankful to have it, however, as the alternative would be no pool.It is sad how they have let the Exum Center just fall apart, too.

The lack of communication here is astounding. You can almost never get in contact with anyone whether it be by phone or email and if they do decide to respond it is weeks later. Glad I’m transferring elsewhere.

I love my HBCU.

Very unprofessional! I toured yesterday with my best friend and our tour guid NEVER addressed me. He refused to show us any class rooms besides one English class. We had racial slurs made to us (we are both white) and our tour guid just laughed with the student. Everyone except one campus police officer was nasty to us. Both, my best friend and I have been accepted but I refuse to get my education there! KSU definitely is not a place for healthy growth and development!!!

This is not a school for outspoken or educated people. This is a school where teacher make fun of you for asking a question. Where u waste money for stuff you dont need. They have some many facility problems they care nothing about education. I currently attend this school and its my 3rd day and i will never go here again. Its unprofessional , unorganized & what i experienced here made me never want to attend college again

This is a great institution of higher learning. I visited the campus in March of 2016. I visited Kentucky for my cousins wedding and my cousin-in-law attended and worked here. He gave us a tour of all of the facilities and all the school had to offer. Before visiting, I didnt know this campus existed. I didnt even know it was a HBCU. This was the first HBCU that I visited. But, the students and staff are friendly and I can say with my head high, you wouldnt regret coming here.

Don’t WASTE your time trying to go here, know one is ever helpful and doesn’t seem to actually care to even try to help, they would just send you one place to another and then come to find out that who you were really looking for isn’t even there! WORST, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED school I have ever seen! DON’T GO TO THIS SCHOOL.

This school broke my heart! Ive always wanted to attend an HBCU & they ruined my experience!! They dont give a damn about their black students ESPECIALLY the nursing program. So glad I switched states & completed the program else where (BSN :)))). If youre a nursing student leave IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! The nursing instructors are the WORST & they could care less if you succeed or fail. I thought this was a lie until I experienced it for myself. I wont be surprised if they get shut down. The nursing lab was old & out dated (so were our dorm rooms). The nursing lab instructor was a real B-word, rude, condescending, and I dont know why they got rid of other staff and left her. They have a new program president every 2wks. My cousin graduated the yr before I enrolled & she had nothing but good things to say. I told her of my experience & she was pissed for me. Im doing this review because I dont want anyone to have this experience. Go elsewhere! Dont believe me? Ask ANY nursing or other student from this school. Throw the whole school away! The food was nasty. The dorms were old & repairs took the entire school yr to be fixed. Other faculty/staff acted like they didnt want to help or they didnt know what they were doing. Just UGH :((((((

KSU is a great institution, a great place gain well rounded education and build relationships!I have great praises about the excellence administration, faculty, and student body! Im indeed proud to be apart of the KSU community!

Remaining hopeful for a transformation. Hoping President Thompson will stay. KSU deserves great leadership with knowledge and concern. KSU needs stability.

The WORST university ever. Except the faculty members nobody will help you out,specially the International student services. They have a DSO, who doesnt know the rules and regulation for the International students.I am graduating in may 2016 and the DSO at this WORST school is saying that I could not apply for OPT until I graduate. Actually I have to apply for OPT 90 days before I graduate.All I have to say is if you have other options then choose that, then to wasting your time getting all headaches by Enrolling in KYSU.I will rate 0 stars for this university, but because I can not post this review until I give atleast 1 star.

This is a horrible school. The students who attend dont even deny it: KSU is awful! The average scores are very low. The president has resigned, so I wouldnt be surprised if this school closes its doors.

My son goes to Kentucky State University and I can say it is very unprofessionalThe school is old and dirty the food is disgusting The staff is horrible sometimes I have to call the University about certain things leave voicemails never get a return call back ever I would not recommend anybody to go to the school
