I take Kumdo with my 11 year old and we are having a great time. We travel from Frederick to take these classes. Master Kim does an excellent job in teaching the skills but also the life lessons (discipline and respect) as well. The best part is sparring with my son with bamboo swords.

This is a great school!! My two children love the instructors and the grand master. They are learning not only a martial art, but also the discipline and value of working on something worth earning. They also get a chance to socialize with adults and kids, and physical fitness is stressed.

The one-star reviews on here appear to all have a similar theme: someone signed a long-term contract and changed their mind (for whatever reason), and then got upset they couldnt cancel. There are multiple plans offered when you sign up, some are short and some are longer. The longer plans will save you money in the long run, but it also means youre committed to the program longer. This is like someone signing up for a 2-year cell phone plan, getting a free phone, and then getting upset they cant just cancel the plan and keep the phone. The good news is I believe they offer the first lesson (maybe even the first month) free! This is a great opportunity to check out a class and find a training program that works for you.Korean Martial Arts is a fantastic martial arts training center. It is very clear Master Kim cares about his students success as well as their overall health. Highly recommended if you are considering learning something new (and no, Im not getting paid to write this)!

The instructor at the Frederick location was amazing and tried to work with my daughter. But she was diagnosed with ADHD and MDR and we had quickly realized prior to her diagnosis that she had a very difficult time in class, more so than your average kid. We sent them a form from her psychiatrist explaining her condition and that she wasnt fit to do the classes but they refuse to end the contract, and their financial institution, Global Financial, basically said we have to pay them no matter what.Bottom line, while the people there are good people, you are selling your soul to go and if anything goes wrong, then they wont work with you.

The instructors are amazing and the customer service is phenomenal! I have lost so much weight since I began my journey with Korean Martial Arts. It fits my schedule perfectly because my kids and I can go whatever time fits OUR schedule. Its definitely the best martial arts school in the area. Recommended for everyone!

I have been taking taekwondo at Korean Martial Arts for a little over a year and just started hapkido. This school is great. The teachers are amazing and extremely knowledgeable. The school offers a free intro class, if you are interested contact Grandmaster Kim he is quick to respond. 5 stars.

I agree with other reviewers, they are just after your money. You can basically buy a black belt without every learning the materials. The Hapkido federation should really investigate the practices at this dojo.

They just want your money. If you want to change your belt color just pay them for the test (which its just a joke). If the master have someone coming in for try out, he left students hanging wait for him until hes done talking to new customer and when hes done he would not even extend the time that he spend for new customer. And be careful with the contract since you cant get out until the contract end.

KMA is a great place to study traditional martial arts. Good instructors and an even better community.

They are fraud just trying to estort money from people. They talk to you nicely to get a contract and tells you, you can cancel anytime and when you want to cancel, you told you cant because you are bound by contract. After paying every month they also charge a testing fee of $80 for nothing. The testing fee is always paid in cash which I believe they dont want to pay tax on it. They are there just to make money and sell their products but not to teach. Ive seen people been tested for a higher belt even though they are not proficient in their current belt. All they care about is money. Fraudulent people.

I take Taekwondo and Hapkido at Korean Martial Arts, and I couldnt be happier. The community is incredibly kind and supportive, and GrandMaster Kim is genuinely interested in his students success and happiness.Besides the welcoming atmosphere, what I most appreciate about KMA is the variety of instruction - each instructor has different strengths and teaching styles. As a student, this means that I can learn the same thing in multiple ways, which is incredibly helpful when learning complex forms and techniques.
