I was always taught to give people (and institutions in this case) the benefit of the doubt, hence my two star rating. I feel as if I would score much much lower on the SAT after spending 2+ years at this institution, because it has absolutely drained the time and energy that I could have spent focusing on academic success. Attended UMW orientation. Great experience. Faculty and student guides were outstanding. Warm welcome. Police chief is awesome. Outstanding lunch. My daughter is all set for the fall semester. Another Eagle has landed!

Tour guides were very informative and polite. Facilities were clean and all buildings looked nice.

Granddaughter loves it, shes a computer whiz, singer, musician, shy but very friendly & shes happy with her experience all around

Great place and very nice campus

How was UMW? Well...I go to school there and dont hate it so there is that. Actually the professors are pretty great, at least the ones I have had. No, I wont leave reviews of them on Rate My Professor. Had to have a university mandated covid test today. I studied really hard and passed. Seriously, having a cotton swab shoved up your nose kind of sucks. 1/10 do not recommend. Wear your masks people!

I have loved going to school here since 2018. Despite everything being online due to COVID19, many professors have been very accommodating and helpful to us. Weve been given so many resources and opportunities as a student body to interact with eachother and have a good year despite remote learning and activities.

As an alumni, I cannot think of a better place to have gone to college. My degree in historic preservation was wonderful. The campus is beautiful. Its much bigger than when I attended but it has kept with the historic architectural design. Fredericksburg is a great city to be located in. I love to go back every year or so and remember great times.

An excellent undergrad experience, even as a commuter. Professors were understanding and engaging. I liked the dining hall, but I didnt eat there, much. Im proceeding with even higher education, and find Im prepared for both work and education.Sarah 09

Great university!

Apart from the tuition being ridiculously expensive, this University is stellar. The campus is gorgeous and well maintained. Their are various modern and highly useful facilities - state of the art gyms, entire buildings dedicated to serving group project needs (such as quiet conference rooms, dozens of independent computer work stations, etc.), and so on. There are competitive and recreational sports teams. Theres a Starbucks on site (major win). Its easy to walk to everything you need. If you go off campus, youre right there in a beautiful residential part of Fredericksburg.

Great school! Safe, comfortable environment. A good place for walking and reading on the lawn too, even if your not a student.

School was medicore at best. Some professors were okay, however there are only a few majors worth taking as your focus. School has nothing once you visit downtown a million times and the school seems to only care about the students who are part of the in crowd rather than the students who are doing well in academics and/or clubs. This college sucks and spending four a half years here made me regret not joining the military or going elsewhere. Only positives I took away was the great English Professor Gwen head of the writing center and the amazing management staff at the bookstore. Everything else is meh

Great School! Small classroom sizes so you know your professors. Would recommend the school to anyone who loves to learn.

Challenging classes with caring and passionate professors. Fun campus and residence life where Ive met the best friends anyone could ever wish to have.

Meeting the teachers are wonderful and everything, but alot of the students not so much. I know you dont go to school for friends and what not, but when you have to be in a social setting, (class requirements for some things) this is not it. And sometimes faculty is a bit much.

This place is huge it looks small on the outside but it is big in the inside

This is one of the worst schools in Virginia, what most call a safety school. The food is awful, plastic & metal have been found inside. Theres nothing to do in the area, its a suitcase school with few active clubs or sports.
