Very unprofessional not on time when appointments are set to do projects the institution is completely lost unorganized, the Instructors Are rude to their own students they talk about you and degrade you in front of the Entire class.. Im only here as a Hobby something to Do.. seemed like a great Place to Support was Completely Wrong. Vote with your wallet. Going to San Francisco To get Paid more maybe they will Keep Schedules and Treat students with Respect.

There is simply not enough equipment and hands on training. General block needs to be more serious. There should be a moc o and p after every block to make sure students are actually progressing instead of just multiple questions.

Im currently a student at The Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Oakland and its an amazing school. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable the campus has the proper equipment so you can really get a hands on feel. And the student services staff is amazing as well. They hard work around the clock to help with job placement and any other needs that you might need help with rather its school or personal related matters. Ive been working closely with Courtney McCallion Who is one of AIM student services staff coordinator, and she is extremely great at what she does, shes put me in great position to meet so many great recruiters from United Airlines, Rolls-Royce, Southwest and other companies in the industry. I feel that when I graduate I will be in the right direction with a for sure foot in the door because of her. I Urge all of my peers to at least stop by student services just at least to introduce themselves. But I love AIM its the best school Ive been to thus far.

Its a business, they exist to make money out of their students. I quit for many reasons but mainly due to a teacher who just read out from a power point presentation and wouldnt answer questions. I quit early January and they still havent refunded all the money they owe me!(Amazing I write this review and the next day they contact me explaining in what I consider to be an abrupt manner, that they owe me nothing)There arent many places to study to be an A & P, Im now continuing at a community college, far superior facilities and teaching staff for a fraction of the price. My advice, investigate all options before committing to this school. And if you decide its your best option prepare to part with a lot of money.

How many days a week do you have to attend classes? I would love to do this, but I only have Mondays and Tuesdays off.

Avoid this school like the plague. Left there a few years ago and when I did I had them give me an invoice showing I owed them no money. Now they are trying to sue me claiming I didnt pay them

As the only non-veteran who first started in their new academic program was awesome; but I soon found out that their lack of resources was a slight disappointment. The commercials and ads are hyperbolic. Youll most likely have to find a job by yourself as the administration and dean would completely ignore your requests for a transcript and letter of recommendation... if youre a C+ average student. Its been nine months and theyve finally given a response that its been denied. Not to mention that Ive called every other week to find out that nothing was logged; always reminding them about what was needed to be done. All in all, its a great little school. 80% book-work and 20% hands-on. The teachers are down-to-earth and theyll try to help you the best they can if they see that youre actually trying. The administrators are neighborly, but you would have to understand that the schools establishment is still brand new. So their artistry towards aiding students are hindered quite a bit. They also provide an aviation job fair every season for veterans (w/ an aviation background) and A&P certified mechanics. So finding a job outside of their norms, like becoming a police cadet to work your way up to fixing their helicopters isnt* something they would encourage; Ive tried... but they did help me out in the end. (2017 graduate)Adolescent Tip: You would have to enroll as a transfer student in a selective college/university afterwards. Twenty-five credits and a 3.0 GPA are the minimum required factors to be qualified, but I guarantee you that zero of those credits will be transferred(whats strange is that pilot school credits will count as an elective and this wont). My best answer is to stay at a reputable diploma-mill college for two years and then transfer to whatever you like... just to save 25-50k.

This school provides excellent training to become an Aircraft Mechanic. The Instructors are industry experts who have worked in the field and take the time to develop students 1on1. Every step of the enrollment process keeps you informed on what the program looks like, costs, time frame, requirements, etc are. This school is not for everyone but is one of the best for those who are serious about starting a career as an aircraft mechanic.

If youre looking for a school to help you get into the aviation industry, this is one of the best places to go in the Bay Area. You have to stay on top of your studying and be persistent sometimes, but if you stick with the education goals that the school gives you then youll get your A & P certification.Close to graduation, the schools career services will use their networking skills to later hook you up with partnered airlines to get you a job quickly.

Right off the bat at orientation youre given all your books and a lot of them are duplicates. One is an FAA version, and the other is a contracted book company called Avotek. Both teach the same thing, but youre required both for some reason...money. Theres a reason so many 1 and 3 star reviews were given(and a 5 star review...by an instructor), its a meh program that could prove to be fairly successful when it is fully...developed?If you actually try in the program, youll definitely succeed in getting your A&P cert. Some instructors make it fairly hard to be able to finish the program when you ask a question and they say youve got a book...look it up. Which is why the school may have a last reported 38% graduation rate from the program, and they havent even publicly announced the percentage of students to receive their A&P license yet.Pros- teaches the basics of aerospace mantenance, they have networked with companies (airlines, baggage handling, fuel maintenance companies, etc.) to get you a job while being a student and after you graduate, some instructors want you to succeed.Cons- instructors that are there for a paycheck that dont care about you at all (yeah...thats anywhere, but just listing it here), the feel that its just about the money, book costs (500$+) but could easily be lowered without having both Avotek and FAA series being redundant.Overall, the program is ok for entering into the aviation maintenance field. This post was created because I was concerned from lack of reviews and its an expensive program. Hopefully this helps.
