Went for a birthday party. Lack of space for adults to occupy (you’re in a hallway type space with chairs all along one wall). Didn’t realize you couldn’t take the pizza’s home (they aren’t “licensed”). My youngest son is 4 with ASD, so the crowded areas weren’t comfortable for him to eat - so something to be aware of if your child has special needs or has space/crowd issues… When my oldest daughter was walking my son out while I made our goodbyes, the front desk lady yelled at her for attempting to take the pizza out of the building. When this happened, my daughter immediately dropped everything because my son ran out of the building and ended up scraping his knee. Not really their fault for his injury, but you cannot be yelling at children in a “supposedly” children’s environment. Her lack of “customer service”, snappy attitude, not speaking honestly with adults in a friendly manner, and not making children feel comfortable needs to be worked on. This wasn’t a cooking class, but more of a demonstration. Wouldn’t recommend for special needs children (my own personal experience), children under 8 or over 12 or if your child has zero experience in or around a kitchen setting ahead of time. The only staff member that was really on the children’s level and made them feel comfortable was Chef Raven.

I was not impressed with what my kid got for $20 per hour cooking classes. First off there were 2 cooking stations for 10 kids, and the kids were not seated at the cooking stations, rather at metal tables around the perimeter of the room.I would say this is more of a cooking demonstration than a cooking class. The kids did not appear to be cooking anything during the times I was observing. They seemed to be watching the instructors do the cooking.I dont think my daughter learned anything in this class, and I wasnt able to try any of the food that the kids cooked because of a weird rule they have that the food cant be taken home. Why would you not let kids take home the food they supposedly made?

Good option for a kids party where the kids enjoy a lot. The staff is friendly and helpful. The chefs are great with kids and was a great experience for kids in our group. The only negative is there is no room for thhe parents to sit. There were about 6 smallish chairs where sitting was not comfortable the whole time we were there. I dont know if same is true for other locations. The pizza kids made was delicious. For toddlers parents can be with them to help.Worth considering for a small kids party.

My 7 year old daughter currently goes to this location and we are more than impressed! We just started going recently and she has already learned SO much and is finally super passionate about something because the Chef’s and staff make it so much fun! The MasterChef program is so fun and such a great tool for the kids, it gives them something to work towards and be even more excited about. We are so thankful we took a chance with Young Chef’s Academy, we highly recommend it!

My son and daughter recently attended one of the weekly summer camps and they had a great time! The chefs were great and my kids had so much fun trying new recipes and learning techniques. My son who is a picky eater surprisingly liked most of the recipes, weve even made some of them at home for dinner! Nora was very nice and accommodating, thank you for a fun week!

Our son been taking weekly classes here for the last year and loves it as he is learning how to do things my wife (the cook in our house) doesnt know how to do. From making homemade pasta to cauliflower crust pizza, he is picking up skills I could use.

Im not sure if the negative reviewers and my daughter went to the same place because my daughter has nothing but pleasant experiences there. She is a vegetarian and while they did not offer substitutes, she still learned how to cook meats and was given options to substitute and try at home (like tofu, cauliflower, etc depending on the cooking method). The head chef was always smiling and gave the kids room to do their tasks without hovering and had faith they could do it. Ever since the first class shes come home and practiced what she learned, whether it be chopping, mixing, flipping food in a pan... She loves it.I did not always like the recipes but its luck of the draw, not everyone likes the same thing. Not every child will want to stick it through, but I think every child should learn basic cooking skills so they arent eating ramen every meal in college.Having my daughter join Young chefs academy was a great decision for my shyest child. I would recommend having your child go for at least a month because ours choked up, got nervous, and almost cried the first couple times, then embraced it and loves it.Also, the staff are great! Willing to work with you if you have scheduling conflicts. You just have to let them know as early as you can (like a week before if possible) that you need to shift around the day or time your child will attend.

Horrible. Overpriced, lame recipes, and most all the kids complain they are bored. The parents talk, and it’s not just me whose kids feel this way. Save your money. Recipes terrible. After the EXTREMELY overpriced classes, they also solicit tips, in addition.***Not ASD friendly***
