Had been inquiring about acupuncture schools in Gainesville five element was first on the list until speaking with the over opinionated woman in admissions, I did not call to hear her brainwashed tantics on today’s agenda, I called to hear about the school and what had to offer. Know your place in admissions. She was rude and a complete waste of my time today.

I just wasted an entire afternoon to show up to my appointment - which was never inputted into their system. My payment was processed on my credit card properly, yet my appointment was not inputted into the scheduling system. WARNING: The front desk woman said, “yeah, this isn’t the first time it’s happened”. I live 20+ minutes away, and arranged childcare to accommodate this appointment. Get a better booking system in place.

I started my masters at another acupuncture school in California before switching to the Academy for Five Element acupuncture, and I am so incredibly glad that I did. The unique structure of the program has allowed me to continue to work and live near my family for the first two years. The tuition is one of the most affordable in the country (nearly half of what schools here in NYC cost!). The teachers are incredibly devoted, approachable, and humble. The buildings have more natural light than all of the other schools Ive visited combined - especially the gorgeous brand-new Student Clinic. Finally, the schools approach to Chinese medicine encourages students to engage their future vocation from multiple perspectives: the spiritual, the interpersonal, the biological, the entrepreneurial, etc, etc. Acupuncture programs are not for the feint of heart: you will be expected to work hard here and mostly on your own schedule. This program is good for self-starters and people who learn better at their own pace.

In the last decade Ive sporadicialy attended the veterans clinic on Thursdays evenings. This excellent community service provides general wellness treatment of five points in each ear. Donations are appreciated, but not required.Sidenote for old timers: The clinic relocated to the tan brick behind the academy.Thank you to all the staff involved past, present, and future.

As a graduate of class 25 in June 2011, Im doing well. Academy for Five Element Acupuncture helped ensure my success. Practice Management and the ability to recruit my own patients is paramount to help people see Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as a viable complement to their healthcare regimen. This is something a practitioner will always have to nurture. The faculty are extremely well educated, encouraging, inspiring, and benevolent. I cant thank them enough about these qualities, as these values come from the very top.
