I attended this school and so did my sister and brother and 3 of my kids.Its a great school with teachers that let you know when your child has gotten behind on their work and they are willing to do what ever they can to help your child stay on task so they stay on track.

Buchholz was an awesome school, still is. Great teachers who love their kids, great atmosphere. I loved my time there.

Very understanding and intelligent staff, quick on their feet incase of emergency.

The classes and teachers are very high quality, with a lot of courses and APs to choose from. Buchholzs AP pass rates are the highest in the state, I think. The physical school itself is pretty old and ugly, though.

Great school but The Academy of entrepreneurship is 4/10

Great school. Two of my three kids went there and were successful in college and life. They both had a well rounded experience with excellent teachers and felt ready for the world. The administration is caring, involved, present every day and balanced. They dont overreact and understand that kids need to be listened to as well as instructed. The teachers love what they do and parents are involved in most aspects of the school. The trick to success is to take advantage of what is available at the school. Get involved, Take AP classes, Do a sport. Child number three is in school in the chicago area due to a move. She is thriving here and there are clearly differences in the schools due to funding. BHS gets a fraction of the funding the school here gets but the educational difference is only apparent in the sheer number of courses and the facility itself. The core classes at BHS are as good as a top notch big city school. BHS is diverse in every way. It is a big place allowing everyone to find their niche.

The best high school for mathematics! I have friends who I met at MIT who graduated from Buchholz.
