Anatol Woolf is an excellent teacher. After a life of making art and teaching art he knows what he is talking about. Combine that experience with his humanity and his genuine care for people and yes he is truly excellent.He knows how to respectfully challenge. He knows how to guide you out of your mindset to explore more ways to approach creativity. He has opened doors for me that I didn’t know existed. Challenging? Oh yes. And we laughed all the way as I worked even harder and even challenged him right back. All the while he never looses sight of getting his students to discover what visual communication means to them.Anatol Woolf is truly an inspirational teacher.

I took drawing lessons with Anatol for several months before moving from the area. I was nervous at first because I had no previous experience but Anatol put me at ease immediately. Hes knowledgeable, very skilled and fun to work with. His expertise is enough for an experienced artist to work with but hes patient in working with somebody inexperienced like me.

I have been taking lessons as a beginning amateur artist with Anatol for several months. I appreciate his practical approach to teaching and use of positive reinforcement. Through various still life drawings and paintings, I have noticed improvement in my pencil and watercolor skills.

I have been a student of Anatols for over two years, both inperson, initially, and remote lessons from my home in FL and here in MD this spring/summer. Anatol is a very skilled and intuitive teacher sensing the areas where I needed instruction in water color, oils and water color pencils.
