Sumner academy is a wonderful place for children. They provide an academically challenging learning environment. The teachers and staff take an active role in your child’s development. We couldn’t be more pleased!

After touring several schools in a thirty-mile radius, our sons preschool teacher recommended Sumner Academy.  After the first phone call, we knew this was the school for our children.   Taking a tour confirmed what we already knew.  The class sizes, the teachers dedication, and commitment to the children and growth that we see daily, are extraordinary!     Sumner Academy is the best keep secret in Middle Tennessee.  I could go on and on about how fantastic the team at SA is; they get my highest possible endorsement.  BEST OF THE BEST!

This is the eighth year that my son has attended Sumner Academy. We had always intended to send him to public school, but as that time approached, we decided he would be better suited to a place with a more intimate, warm, educationally consistent environment. We have never regretted the decision to go with Sumner Academy. I cant say enough about the lower school teachers love and enthusiasm they have for their students. They exceed at making every child feel special and successful. Upon entering middle school, students transition to teachers who have great expectations for them, both in their schoolwork and their personal responsibility and growth. They end up well-prepared for high school and beyond. As a parent, I enjoy the close, family-like environment I have with the other parents and administration. This is truly a warm and loving place.

My daughter is in her third year of school at Sumner Academy and we couldn’t ask for a more nurturing environment. The academic standards are very high yet kids are still allowed plenty of time outside to play and enjoy the campus. We closely examined several schools and noticed a number of things about the students at Sumner—all age groups looked happy, engaged, and were kind to one another. The students encourage one another to do their best in the classroom, and the teachers are very involved and know every student. In the words of someone who recommended the school, it’s a “gentle” place to let kids grow up.

We absolutely love this school! I couldn’t ask for a more caring and involved staff! All of the employees at Sumner Academy are involved with every kid, not just the kids in their class. My son loves it so much, he asks to go on the weekends! Best decision we’ve ever made!

We based our decision to send our son here about 6 years ago. We love the academic challenge of the school and the loving and emotionally supportive environment. One review notes that there was bullying; our experience is the opposite... weve seen none of it and have instead seen a very accepting environment for all of the kids and teachers very alert and proactive to it.

Amazing school!! The smaller classes provide an incredible learning experience for all children. I am grateful for the teachers at this school. They go above and beyond for every child.

A great place for students to grow up, a great place for teachers to work! Education here is as it should be, with equal focus on character and academics. Children are given individualized attention thanks to a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Students learn through exploration, hands-on experiences, teacher-led activities, and monthly field trips. The campus is beautiful and there is a family feeling here!

This is our first year at Sumner Academy and we couldn’t be more pleased with the one on one attention! They have helped both of our children succeed in ways we didn’t think were possible from one school. We never imagined having our children in a private school, with public school teachers in the family, but we couldn’t be happier with this amazing experience!! If you have any question at all, tour the campus and meet the amazing teachers. You will be so happy you did.

Sumner Academy and all the teachers are amazing!My son has been going here for the past 4 years and my daughter currently started pre-k and she absolutely loves it.

We’ve had 3 children graduate from Summer Academy. It literally set them up for life. We can’t say enough good things about this school!!
