I participated in the Taster Class and the 6 hour intro to MIG welding. Both were a great experience. Taster class: The instructors were patient and the class moved at an easy pace. It really would be a great date night. There were a large number of women in the class and it is appropriate for all skill levels. The 6 hour MIG class was fun. At the end of the class I felt comfortable with simple MIG welding tasks. The class was well run and the instructor clearly knew his stuff.

The all day Sunday MIG class was not only informative and complete, it was a ton of fun, using a learn by doing approach. Basically: Heres what you need to know about welding, and how to weld safely...now turn the machine on and weld, sing out for tips on fine tuning your skills, and weld some more. They just get you right into it, and off you go. Smart and fun instructors, and fantastic facility. This place is a great idea. Highly recommend.

Matt is friendly and knowledgeable and his shop is well equipped for nearly any type of metal fabrication project you could imagine. I highly recommend the TIG class. It was a great introduction to welding that gets right to the point.

I took the six hour intro MIG course. It was fantastic... We were given a safety lesson, a short demo, and we were quickly doing hands-on welding ourselves. Theres something so satisfying about bending metal to your will that Im sure Ill be back to work on a project of my own.

LOVE this coop! I learned everything I need to do for basic MIG welding for all of my art installation + small business needs. The open shop rates and membership dues are extremely accessible and the classes are well-taught. Not sure why there are bad reviews here, Molten Metal Works is a gem to have in LA and I wouldnt be where I am as an artist without it.

Not worth the money for many reasons.First off, Matt Jones the owner is still a novice welder. He may have gone to college and can afford to open his own shop, but he has never worked in a difficult industry like aerospace or pipe. There are no pictures of the quality of his work so that speaks for itself. A good metal worker will have a portfolio of their difficult projects not just where they got a dime a dozen degree.Eric Wech learned how to weld at molten metal works. The blind leading the blind.Imerio Palumbo not a tradesperson.Thea Ulrich. You can view her TIG welding on her own Instagram page. Technique is ok, if she learned how to TIG a few weeks ago. She is a beautiful dancer. Not a welder.Martin DeWinter was certified in Belgium. Huh?This company just seems like a bunch of people who have access to welding equipment and have side projects that are important to them. They likely use this space to get everyday people to cover the overhead of whatever theyre really working on and to use the business to bring friends over from other countries. If you want to learn how to weld, attend a community college where the instructors are experienced in INDUSTRY and actually know what the hell they are doing.Waste of time and money to go to Molten Metal Works.

Twenty minutes before a morning workshop and nobodys there to open not only the door, but even the gate to the parking lot. Youll have to wait out on the street.
