I loved my experience here at GCC. I finished my 2 year associates degree here and played on the mens tennis team. You will find friendly staff, beautiful campus, and cheap tuition. Theres not much you could ask more for!

Its home, went back to school after 20 year hiatus and professors have been very helpful. Nice campus and friendly Westside people have welcomed me and made me feel as part of the family.

The teachers are very helpful but the financial aid office should really train people on what students need to fill out to receive there aid and not give people the run around. They should reply in a timely fashion and not give wrong information because some people don’t have to full tuition and it discourages people to no proceed in there education. Thank you.

I have a mobility scooter because I cant walk very well anymore. This scooter is electric and I dont go very far on it as it has a limited range. The park I go to some times is far (in a wheelchair). I cut through the north campus parking lot 100s of yards from any building to save some battery. I felt dejected today when I was accosted by one of the campus police telling me to leave as is a closed campus. It did not feel like it was for my safety as much as him exerting his authority. I was just cutting the corner of the campus away from anyone.Edit: This happened around noonish on the same day I posted.Edit2:Not fair to the school so Just the Officer gets a one star for that day. The school itself is pretty awesome.

Honestly, it has not been a great experience which is why I am more than likely dropping this joke of a school. Im gonna be brutally honest and you all can hate me for it all you want. So, yes the teachers and students I have met are nice. But one had dropped me for some unknown reason saying how I have all these absences when Ive done the work and theres no meeting scheduled. So why would I be dropped other than a failing grade?Next, the bookstore. I had purchased a thing for this Eng. 101 I was taking and figured it would arrive within a week to a week and a half. I contacted them asking how much longer it should take and where the current location of it is, if there is one, got completely sidestepped.Now, fast forward about a month or two later, still the package has yet to arrive and classes have started. I ask for a refund 3 times and even say I would take it up with my bank. On the last email, I never got any reply and by this time I had found a digital copy so I could stay caught up in class.Now, I had even took it up with my bank, I got my refund and like any other person would think, they cancelled the order. But no. Instead of cancelling it, they proceed with the delivery and go against my word to the bank and say how Im being fraud.Honestly, this school is not even worth my time or money. I really cannot believe I wasted almost half a year for this terrible joke. I wouldnt even leave a two-star review if that were an option. And some joke your return policy is. Like how in the actual hell is anyone supposed to physically return a purchased item if it was never delivered until they take it up with their bank.Im gonna be honest when I say this.What an absolute joke of a school.

Easy parking, nice big campus.

Im a GCC Alum, so while Im obviously biased, I believe that GCC is the best of the community colleges in the Phoenix metro area. Ive gone so far with my two associates degrees from here, and I am beyond grateful to the many GCC faculty, staff, and fellow students who helped me get to where I am today. Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU for everything that you invest into your students!

The staff overall is great and I’ve loved my classes.The financial aid process is unbelievably ridiculous. They have asked me to upload the same documents 4 times. I confirmed with 2 separate people that they have received them. One of those times, I waited on the phone with someone to make sure they received them as a emailed them that second...they confirmed they received them. I even sent it an extra time to a director because I was having such a difficult time with the office. Six months later they are still saying they need the documents again...now for the 5th time. I have sent the same documents to NAU with zero problems. On top of all that, they’re continuously sending me emails saying they’re missing items, but the email is in another student’s name/ID.Definitely going to a different school next semester.

Great school to any vets reading this that are transitioning back into school. I know it can be very uneasy. The Vet center is beyond helpful they handled and made everything very quick and painless. So far the professors and staff here are amazing.

If you are needing to get education for a lot cheaper you should really consider looking into going to a community college. At Glendale Community College you can find a great career path that will not cost an arm and a leg to pay for. I will say that this college does seem to be a little bit on the larger side.

Security guard woke me out of a dead sleep around 430 am for sleeping on the property yesterday. Wasnt rude just he didnt really need to be Petty about my boyfriend and I sleeping there. We were not hurting anyone.

This is a wonderful and diverse school. There are lots of teachers who care and free tutoring to boot. If your willing to put in the time and effort youll do great. Also, pack a lunch because most of the food items in the cafeteria are more expensive than a hospital with almost 10% tax

GCC is a diverse and including campus. There are many teachers that go above and beyond their job responsibilities. These teachers really make the campus worth attending. I highly recommend using rate my professor and ask around to find the best teachers. On the flip-side there are some teachers that I would never recommend taking. The campus itself is very clean and easy to navigate. The size is smaller than Universities leading to an ease of transition to college life. The one thing the college can improve on is the lack of a defined student culture. The focus on clubs and student driven activities seem to be lacking compared to other campuses. Overall The campus is a very good and a great College to begin your education career!

I dont start class until tomorrow so this review is solely based off my experience as a veteran with the veteran center staff. I am blown away with how quick they got me certified for my first enrollment with GCC. I just went in last week to turn in my dd214 and request cert and I already have my book stipend pending in my account. I transferred in from a school in Texas where I would wait 30 days AFTER requesting certification before they even submitted it to the VA and then waiting forever for the VA to process so I was expecting to wait a month. They also took the time to help me get the necessary documents to get resident tuition rates so I wouldnt have to come out of pocket being new to AZ. Highly impressed with their efficiency and how knowledgeable they were definitely took a weight off my shoulders

Dont go its and exploiting school. These people still have me on the phone waiting for library debt that was just added on recently. Ive paid all of my debt in the Navy off. and 8 years later after they have sent transcripts they because of some library book. The teacher where also retarded because I took my writing papers to another school and received better grades for WR 121. Since we want to be petty. I had belief the teacher was a racist.

DO NOT CONSIDER THIS SCHOOL. I cant recommend this school to anyone. The staff is racist, they dont care about your education, they take forever to help you when it comes to financial aid or anything. This school claims to have 0 tolerance for sexual harassment but there are many people that go to this school who have had sexual remarks made to them. It is a very uncomfortable school to go to and I would encourage you to look for other colleges to go to. The only good thing about this college is that it is some what affordable but Id rather pay more for a school that has teachers who arent racist and care about my education. Good luck

Being a newly military veteran as of March 2017 after 10 years of service. I figured out what i wanted to do as a career. I picked Glendale Community College to help get me there. The new veteran center is nice and helpful. Staff are mostly operated by currently enrolled veteran students and retired military so it is easier to communicate in a way they understand you. Things happen with the VA that are out of the schools control sometimes. But the staff and school work with you to make sure there is minimal interruption and/or fixing classes so that you can continue progress until the VA fixes there end. I am pursing a career in the Fire Department, and I can tell you that their EMT, HAZMAT, Fire 1 & 2, are all amazing courses that are good as a result of top notch faculty with tons of experience and competitive for a community college. Great staff, great people and great programs

Glendale Community College is a great and affordable college for those pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree. I just started my second semester with a 4.0 GPA. Many people will whine and complain either about financial aid or their inability to do well in classes. The vast majority of the time, theyre to blame as all of the resources are there for you but ultimately its up to you to utilize them.

I have been having the worst time with the financial aid process.I submitted all my paperwork a month ago and everything updated except for the document I competed at the school with one of the employees. I called the help desk a number of times and was being told as long as you did it everything will be fine until last week when I spoke with someone else and she said that they will not move forward until they have that. I went back up to the school and spoke with the same guy who had me do the paper again and told me it would be updated by the end of that day , welp it was not and here I am 5 business days later and still nothing. Mind you after they finally get it I will still have to wait 14 business days for the aid to be processed. Classes started 2 weeks ago. This is really disappointing.

Make sure you get the professors that are graduated within that field that you are studying. They are an expertise in the area versus someone that is graduated outside the field and knows nothing. It is our education, money, and the future.

Wonderful school. I have been going here for 2 years now studying for my degree in Nutrition. This school has very helpful teachers and staff, lots of opportunities to learn, and great one on one tutoring.

The financial aid center has dropped the ball on me 3 times now. This place is a joke. Definitely going to a different college next semester. Dont waste your time going to this circus.

Veterans Center ReviewHard to get ahold of and even harder to work with. Seems that staff changes over too often, seems like they hire people off the bus stop and this leads to long waits and headaches trying to get anything done. I’ve worked with 5 colleges throughout Maricopa County and because of the Veterans Center, GCC is certainly the one that I regret using the most.Although you can enroll online, be ready to drive in that day to sign a form or they will drop you without notice. The procedure is not only inconvenient but very uptight when they know payment is GI Bill backed.Do yourself a favor and chose a better learning environment elsewhere.

Absolutely a wonderful first two year years. I stayed to complete pre reqs for grad school including organic chemistry and extra physics before transferring. I will miss the professors most of all. Biology, Chemistry, English, Honors dept, all were genuinely caring about students learning. Professors are available for one on one questions. Remarkable access to tutors in all departments each day for free. Always a lot going on to raise awareness of certain important issues and also better the student experience.

Great school! Has gotten much better now that smoking is banned--used to be a ton of smokers standing outside every door but now the air is breathable and those of us with asthma and COPD can breath.

I love this school! Some of the best teachers and the most helpful Dean I have met work there. Financial Aid has the most RUDE and unhelpful people I have ever met.

This is my second semester at GCC and I love it! Ive had such great Professors, they truly care for you, inform you, and help you . If you need to take Math, I recommend Mrs. Madrid, she is so patient and clear. She has a great way of teaching. Ive had a couple unpleasant incidents, at the enrollment center, I feel like the advisors could do a little better and the financial aid messed up a couple times on my aid but they got it fixed. Overall a great school with great hours of operation.

Havent even attended yet, but the financial aid department is already ridiculous. No problems from any other university or campus when it comes to aid, but theyre fighting me and putting me off for weeks and weeks, never updating any of the notes on my account and, unfortunately, this is the only campus that offers most of the classes for my major, which makes everything super inconvenient instead of the opposite, as it should be w/ a college system.

I can wait to see you go there I like it so far is amazing college is my first day the 29th

I **CAN NOT ** recommend this school at least Administration wise they are very arrogant and ignorant and have the slowest workers in the office I have every seen!!! At Maricopa South mountain community college it took 30Min and they took care of everything including sign up , documentation and payments. I spend the last 2 days at the Glendale CC location and they were still not capable of getting me into the class which is starting tomorrow! So if you can go to SMCC they are the greatest capable hard working office people I have met in a long time!!!

I have been attending GCC for two and a half years. I have enjoyed all my classes at GCC and I can recommend this college to anybody. I started taking ESL classes and I have progressed into the general classes. Since I began admission, I had amazing professors that have shown experience and have always been professional.

If you can, go elsewhere. I applied to this school and had all my necessary documents and payments turned in. I was charged out of state tuition ( even though I’m a resident ) and I’m supposed to be exempt from the charge anyhow for other reasons. I provided paperwork to the school to prove the charge was incorrect and nothing was done for weeks. I got threatened about being dropped from my class if I didn’t pay the charge that wasn’t even supposed to be there. I made multiple calls and went to the school and no one was of any help. The school finally got it together the day before my class started but now they don’t even have the books necessary for the class at the bookstore yet which were paid for in advance! ( the class has already started) I’m also having issues with logging into Microsoft 365 and called the help desk FOUR times with no help other than rest your password; which doesn’t work and I’ve explained that to them each time. This is the worst school I’ve ever attended and currently looking on how I can file a complaint. LOOK ELSEWHERE SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

I dreaded going to Glendale Community College (GCC). I attended 1 full year in 2016 and did not get the grades I had strived for. In 2018 I started attending Phoenix College (PC), my one year at (PC) is almost up. I have taken 5 courses and have gotten all As, Phoenix Community College is way better than (GCC) in every aspect! At Phoenix College, youre engaged, professors go in depth with their teaching, college life is amazing there, and the majority of the Students seem happy and social! At (GCC), a lot of professors and instructors teach like theyre stuck in a dead end job from my personal experience and many of the students are very antisocial.

It is a great school with great teachers. Campus is friendly, youll love it here.

I miss GCC! I started out here and Im so glad I did! Classes are affordable, parking is free and its far more personable than most universities here. Ive had countless opportunities at GCC. I got to travel and compete throughout the country with the Forensics team for free, plus received scholarships. Now Im at ASU, but Ill always have GCC near and dear to my heart.❤️

I love this school, Ive had some of the most amazing teachers here at GCC. The only thing that I dont like about this school is the admission and records staff and the advisors, most of them are rude and I feel like they dont really care. But overall great school!!

I give 5 stars becuase of the twachers other then that cashier is not good and nursing advisor can make mistake. CNA is ver hard process all process must done with advisor. What I meant by that myclinicalexchange has to be done by college not by student. All amount has to pay in once not many things and little by little. Student can pay all things in front and advisor can work on each students paperwork. Why they are advisor?

Went here for almost four years, I absolutely loved my professors that I had the pleasure of taking classes with. They definitely took their time teaching the class, and you can tell they thoroughly enjoyed teaching the classes. If you ever get the chance to take Michelle Walters, Trisha Lavigne, or Angela Mick. Do so because they seriously teach so well and are passionate in what they teach. 99% of my professors were amazing! Disappointed I won’t be able to stay here for nursing school, hope paradise valley has just as great of professors as GCC! Although the school looks run down, and is in an okay area, it’s a great school, I have no complaints with proffesors. The only thing that you seriously need to do yourself, is you need to know EXACTLY what classes are required for your avenue of a career choice, I took a class that I didn’t even need. Nursing staff and advisor staff are all of different pages when it comes to picking out classes. One person tells you one thing, than one tells you another. It’s confusing! I was told to retake my HESI although I did pretty well on it, which costs $50 just to take, and I decided not to and was accepted at Paradise Valley. It’s like everyone is money hungry. We are college students who more than half, if our parents aren’t paying our way, are basically broke due to paying for college. Please do your research before you commit to what advisors are telling you! It’ll Save you time and money for your future!

Went to sign up for cad program and i was directed to the computer and got no help. I have a learning disability and asked for help and was told figure it out or leave so i left.

Was disappointing and i dont think any schools here in az is a healthy environment for african americans (hebrews). This state and school system supports miseducation and dances around the real issues. Only references european values and colonialism as if nothing existed before 10, 000 years ago. African American (hebrew) people should stay away from az as a source for furthering your education. Africans (different type of hebrew), Arabs, Mexican Americans, Eastern block Europeans and Native Americans even take part in this lesser perception of African Americans. People in this state have no problem showing their distaste for people of color. Serious lack of empathy in the social climate in az. Being surrounded by people that hate you or dont see you as an equal was a horrible experience. Do your homework before moving to this state and choosing to attend any of there schools. AZ isnt a safe place for people that are considered black and should be ready for the unfair treatment of the people that resided there. Even violence from the real ignorant people that are transplants or locals that share that same perception. The people here are dangerous, Just my experience along with my opinion.

First year here and it has treated me well.Definitely get involved at this school, they have so much to offer.

1.The Administration is horrible in person and worse on the phone. 2.Try to get a good score on the Accuplacer test because those remedial teachers are heartless. 3. While the school is affordable I find it ridiculous that most of the books are ONLY GCC books and you cant buy em else where. 4. I dont waste my time trying to get financial aid there because its a hassle. 5. Do not get One Main Loans the APR is far too high. GCC North Campus is more professional & courteous than the main Campus.
