Flying Cacti is an amazing flight school and a hidden gem. As others mentioned the owner, Adam is supper accessible and ready to jump in to help at any moment. Not that I had any issues with the school, but I broke their door after a solo flight (hell tell you about it) and had to get a hold of Adam during his day off. My CFI, Connor, is the best Ive flown with (I tried 4 different schools over the last 15 years). He is knowledgeable, professional and kind. He was clear about my progress at all times, so we never winged a ground or flight lesson. Im so grateful to Flying Cacti for helping me achieve a life-long dream and recommend them to anyone.

I am a happy customer of F-C Flight School. They use the Vans RV-12 flight trainer and employ a group of highly-experienced flight instructors. The primary owner is working hard to build a quality facility in their new hangars. The company recently acquired a brand new Vans RV-12is to serve as the instrument training aircraft. The primary owner is very personable and takes a close interest in his customers (students.) I cant wait to return to finish my Sport Pilot training (I had to take a break to take care of some life-changes back home.) I gave them the highest rating Google offers and would add a sixth star, if there was one!

Flying Cacti is a great school for getting your Pilots License. Well organized and the owners are very polite and professional. Could not have asked for a better first flight experience. Scheduled a discovery flight and was hooked. The RV-12 is a blast to fly and the people are great. I went from zero experience to a private pilots license in the minimum time, thanks to the owner Frank and my CFI throughout Wes. Went into my check ride feeling prepared and confident. Now looking forward to continue renting and flying with the Flying Cacti. I would highly recommend checking them out!

My dream has always been to become a professional pilot. After trying 3 different CFIs and 3 different flight schools, I finally found Flying Cacti. Not only do they make aviation fun and affordable, but they actually have a plane that I feel safe flying. CFIs are knowledgeable and truly take their time to make sure you understand what youre learning. I have nothing but positive things to say about Flying Cacti, and you should definitely schedule a discovery flight!

On track to obtain my Private Pilots License in a little more than a month and I cant express enough how grateful I am for all Flying Cacti has to offer. The fantastic flight instruction by Wes and the ease of scheduling/prompt responses by Frank have made this experience very enjoyable. Pair all of this with the most competitive price in Arizona, I consider myself very lucky to have found this school!

I am the flight student in the green sweater in Flying Cactis introductory video on the homepage of their website and I am writing this review to say that I highly recommend choosing another flight school. What is probably most important to say is that 35 hours into my flight training Frank informed me that I had spent my entire PPL package even though I was still 5 hours short of the promised 40 hour FAA minimum. I suspect I would have had to pay about four or five thousand dollars more than the package cost to finish my training at Flying Cacti (and I was a great, fast advancing student). The ground school was terrible, Frank spent about 80% of the time telling jokes and 20% teaching at a very basic level -- I had to learn just about everything from textbooks and YouTube. The RV-12 was often down for days at a time and our flights were scheduled in small two hour blocks allowing for flights of just over an hour with too many students to get up into air regularly. The result was an overly priced, poorly taught, frustratingly slow education in flight. When my pre-purchased PPL package ran out at 35 hours, I went to another flight school a few hangers down, learned an entirely new plane with a great instructor, accurate pricing, and passed my checkride for my PPL in a matter of a couple weeks. Flying Cacti sucked a lot of money, time, and energy away from my efforts to become a professional pilot and I watched them do the same thing to many of my peers.

Due to my career in the military I cannot always have my phone on me and sometimes can miss text messages as I mostly use Facebook messenger. After missing one of the owners texts, he passive aggressively sent me a message and recommended I find a different flight school.Being from Germany myself I was very intrigued in this flight school with its nice well maintained aircraft, passionate and highly qualified instructor. All run by a German.I guess what I am saying is I feel unjustly treated.

I flew with Terry and became friends with Frank a few weeks back. They are both great people. The planes are in great shape and well maintained. Both Frank and Terry are very knowledgable. I highly recommend Flying Cacti for aircraft rental and flying lessons.

I have been renting from Flying Cacti LLC for over a year. The RV12 is a dream to fly, the Avionics are top of the line Garmin G3X which you cant find anywhere. The rate is amazing for the amount of airplane your flying. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a consistent and high quality LSA to rent.
