The wife and I have also become huge fans as weve taken our daughter. Sign up is simple through the site. The entire lesson ends up being a total experience of an hour and half with over one hour of hands on instruction. You get on the horse at the stable, get lead out with a TA, work in the ring for an hour and then have a casual ride back. Its amazing. They teach real riding and its not an hour out just for recreation. From walking, to jogging, to the posting trot and then cantering. They want you to to really understand how to ride and to learn about horses. Weve been over 10-20 times now as you develop and change the horses that you they pair you with to continually grow your riding ability. My wife and I have been teachers for over 20 years and know great instruction and thats what you get with this team.

The Riding Coach is a gem hidden right next to the LA Equestrian Center! The instructors, Gudrun & Carol, truly care about their horses, and their students. Although it’s a group setting, it’s never more than 6-8 students, usually less, and tailored to your individual skill level, so you get truly personalized instruction. They never push for more than you’re comfortable doing. Focus is a good mix between technique and what I would call mindfulness, or being one with the horse. Horseback riding is my yoga/meditation, and this is a great place to start if you’ve never ridden or are coming off a long break, but also for the more experienced rider it’s an amazing community to belong to.
