After spending a lot of time researching how child-led play is critical to learning and development I was so disillusioned to find that most schools adopted a traditional curriculum so they could “check the box”. Then I found Allison, who now owns and runs Heritage Montessori! It was so refreshing to talk to a teacher who loved what she did and was actually able to create an environment that supported everything I read about how kids learn! My daughter has thrived with Alison for the past 2 years and would even be disappointed to hear it was the weekend and there was no school. I feel that establishing a love of learning at this young age is such an important foundation for her future. I toured so many schools that only focused on academics for Pre K and made no mention of social or emotional. Honestly, I was not concerned when she was 5 that her letter S was perfect, but if she could talk through her feelings and advocate for herself in a group of kids, we were building an important skill that would stay with her the rest of her life. Alison gets that and actually spends time on it! My daughter will go into 1st grade in the fall more equipped to deal with the challenges that come with life and learning. I highly recommend Alison and the team at Heritage Montessori to trust with what becomes your childs educational foundation.

Heritage Montessori has been an amazing blessing for me and my two children. My mother is a retired Montessori teacher, and finding a school that lived up to her standards with authentic Montessori instruction was challenging until I went and toured Heritage. The administration and the teachers truly love and care for the well being of the children and have a great appreciation for the Montessori curriculum which encourages and inspires the childs own natural love for learning. This small but mighty little school feels just like home.My older son graduated from Kindergarten at Heritage. His teacher was absolutely amazing with the children and has many years of fabulous experience. He loved going to school every day and I watched him soak up knowledge like a sponge. By the end of kindergarten he had no problem with multiplication and had begun learning division. The beauty of this Montessori school is that it allowed my childs own potential to continue to grow.My younger son is now in his 3rd year at Heritage Montessori. He is definitely a little more challenging to teach at times. His teacher is so patient with him and has worked with him over the last three years as he has blossomed into a fully independent and inquisitive little boy.I highly recommend that if youre considering a Montessori education for your child, that you take the time to visit Heritage Montessori.

I am the Chess instructor at this school and I have nothing but positive things to say about the group of kids I work with. I can tell they receive great instruction because they are easy to work with and follow directions very well! I teach all over the valley, and this is my youngest group, which is why I am even more impressed by this group of kids. I can tell the staff truly cares about the growth of the children, and you can see that from the progress being made by each student.

I picked this particular Montessori because of its good reviews. I needed a place that would provide a safe and nurturing environment for my child. She was advanced in her reading and I needed her to keep learning, at her own pace. In addition, to providing excellent care, academically challenging materials, they also worked with me, when dealing with delicate issues. I am currently divorced and the school handled all the the problems that come with having a broken family. Communication issues were handles appropriately and with respect. At the end, we unfortunately had to move on for Kindergarten, but my daughter left with well rounded and happy. By the end of Kindergarten, at a top 100 school, even with a broken family, my kiddo was at the top of her class. We even came back for summer care, due to my kiddo s request. If you want the best experience emotionally, mentally, and an outstanding education for your child, Heritage is the best choice.

*parents* check AZ DEPT OF HEALTH violations before agreeing to anything with Heritage Montessori and check dates of reoccurring violations. The owner, husband, director is great at manipulating people and taking money from families up front without providing records of what the payments cover. Lots of gypsy-type practices-just look at the violations involving the staff not having proper documents and education credentials...what does a degree in tourism from Europe have to do with taking care of children?Worse part is right as pandemic was taking off in the US, a MAJOR violation what took place, not Minor as he would like to claim..NOT having documented record of children who were ill or became ill and were sent home. WHAT?! This is not promoting high standards of nurturing, safety and support, this is a recipe for disaster and irrepsonsible. The owner also text my husband and I to welcome them back to school in early MAY, what does that tell you as a parent? Prematurely opening a school without proper COVID-19 protocols, not even requiring adults to wear masks. YES...ANTI-MASKERS willing to risk your children and families health to make a buck, because lets face it..money is what is important to them, not the children. Ask them what their COVID precautions are, its laughable when he says, Oh you know hand-washing, cleaning surfaces and using hand sanitizers. Were not requiring parents and adults to wear masks if they choose not to. Isnt this what you were doing all along, so WHAT HAS CHANGED??Just notice their Facebook feed, two mentions of COVID in the entire time we have been facing this, no guidance from CDC, no email communication, no letters in the mail letting parents know what to expect..why is there nothing in writing??? BECAUSE IN A COURT OF LAW, NOTHING VERBAL MATTERS. So if something happens to your child, or they contract this deadly virus and bring it home to a grandparent or sibling who has a weakenend immune system, guess what....Heritage washes their hand of any responsibility because they wont be held liable for something they havent signed off and agreed to. Be weary of what is NOT said just as much as what IS said.We were made to believe the school only had room for one more student, but miraculously there was room for both of my sons. We corresponded through phonecall, email, text and my husband and I visited twice and then a third time before we agreed to start the boys, we thought it would be a good idea to let them visit the campus first. At that meeting we were told we needed to start them as soon as possible because a previous student wanted to take their spot. We paid for a partial registration (In March since their school ends in May) and materials fee and then a prorated amount for the date we wanted to start them (again we were pressured into starting them a week before we wanted to and what was best for our family). This man took FULL advantage of the pandemic and now claims that everything is non-refundable and we only have a credit of some 600. What makes you think I would trust my children with careless adults, my child is worth more to me than any amount of money paid to you, its the pricinpal of the matter and how you look to ways to benefit off of families becasue you assumed that because my husband is South East Indian he must be a doctor and you saw dollar signs. Please do your research parents, there are SO MANY BETTER MONTESSORI schools that have SAFETY to offer your children. I regret taking my children out of Bambinos Bilingual Montessori in Goodyear, AZ for this pandemic-opportunist claiming to care about children and families.

I would highly recommend Heritage Montessori School. We sent our very active youngest son to Heritage. The teachers were very patient with him and he made great progress over the two years he attended. The staff is extremely professional and we felt the experience for our son was worth the expense. When he moved on to kindergarten at the public school he was very prepared and in most ways ahead of the class.

The class room is well organized and clean and the kids are well behaved and the teachers are attentive and calm.Heritage teaches a good foundation of your child’s life and I see this with my daughter. The kids at heritage learn how to be respectful and independent. They teach the children how to do house choirs and their unique approach of how the children can learn individual skill through the materials they provide.I am happy that I found this school and I highly recommend it.

Heritage Montessori is a small and diverse school and is truly a hidden gem. Mr. and Mrs. Serafine are warm and receptive and are truly dedicated to educating children. I couldnt be happier with my choice of sending my daughter here and my only regret is not starting her earlier. It is remarkable how much my daughter has grown over the past year and she takes great pride in her work. As soon as her younger sister met the minimum age requirement (2 1/2 and potty trained) I started her as well. I was not familiar with the Montessori method prior to enrolling, but now I am a believer. I cannot recommend this school enough.

When we learned that we would be moving out of state, it was the realization that it also meant leaving Heritage Montessori that really made me cry. Our son has thrived here. The teachers are kind, attentive, and passionate about the Montessori method. The structure of the classroom was perfect for our sensitive four yr old - it is the perfect blend of structure and independence that he needs to thrive. The Serafin’s dedication to and love of the Montessori method is evident in every interaction with them. I recommend this school to every one of my friends with preschool aged kiddos and was really looking forward to sending my second son next year. We wish we could take the whole school with us when we move!

Sending my son to Heritage Montessori was one of the best decisions I made as a parent. I am truly amazed what my son has accomplished here. My only regret was not starting him at this school earlier! The Montessori method allows children to learn to their full potential with out making them feel pressured. They are motivated to do their best and feel good about themselves when they accomplish a lesson every day. Aside from the Montessori method, this particular school truly embraces the passion of teaching children. As a single mother, I completely trusted the teachers with my child and always knew they had all best intentions for every single family that walked through their door. I am confidant that my son was given the best foundation of learning and life skills with Heritage Montessori to move on in future accomplishments.

My daughter was studying in this school while she was 4-5 years and she joined as a student who was in a Montessori school before but still did not know how to read or write or do Math. She was more interested in Practical life skills and arts. After joining HMS, I could see a huge improvement in her reading and writing skills. In fact her director told me she was one of the best students in writing skills. The teachers are very dedicated, sincere , straightforward, goal oriented and work towards overall development of the children. I wish every preschooler gets a Montessori education as the early ages in life plays a vital role in their overall development.

This is a regretfully long overdue review. Heritage Montessori has been an incredible and invaluable education and experience for our children. The parents of three girls, all three that have attended or are currently attending heritage, We are thankful for this school. We are truly proud to to say that collectively our children have been a part of the heritage family for over five years now and we are continuously impressed with the level of respect and genuine dedication of their care and education of the children. This is their craft and their passion and it shows. We give a great deal of credit to Heritage Montessori for the development of our children. One example can be the fact that our oldest daughter is in the advanced second grade classs the her charter school after the full two years at heritage, she reads at a sixth grade level, has diverse social skills, and most importantly..confidence in herself at her new school. Now, with the younger two attending currently, we are seeing the same positive traits developing as well. Heritage is undoubtedly in my opinion the best base education, emotional supportive, and an incredibly positive environment.

We sent our daughter, who was two and half at the time, to Heritage Montessori School for the afternoon half-day program (12:30pm - 3:00pm).We chose this school after interviewing the owner. We immediately liked the facilities, and while the school was a bit far from our house, we felt like it was worth driving for a great place for our little girl to learn and have fun.Heritage Montessori was very accommodating with helping us finish potty training our daughter and helped urge her to go on the potty when she was there. Besides potty training, the school helps with manners and behavior - it never felt like our daughter was under-supervised or not-attended-to.We noticed a marked improvement in basic skills like pen handling, puzzles and drawing. The teachers were very generous with their time, explaining the Montessori method and how it helps kids learn - and we certainly saw the benefits of the program.I would not hesitate to recommend this school to our friends or any other parents who are looking for an excellent preschool in the Central Phoenix area.

We are amazed at the way our son has progressed in this school over the last two years while still retaining his individuality and innocence. The teachers are very keen in helping the little ones grow, learn and they can not only spot the strengths but also improve upon the skills to perfect them - and all this in a manner that is natural to them. That makes us believe more so in the Montessori approach - it really does work. We are very happy and highly recommend this to every parent that we know of.

Education is extremely important and I am very happy with Heritage. I did a lot of interviewing before making a final decision and I do not regret my decision in any way. My daughter was barely recognizing letters before starting Heritage in Aug 2012. In just over a year, she is writing full setences, reading books with difficult words (long vowel, etc) and doing simple math. I am just amazed on a weekly and even daily basis of seeing her progression. She loves going to school and doesnt want to leave when we pick her up. The staff is excellent and she loves her teachers. It was the best decision made to send her here!

My child is in Heritage Montessori for almost a year now and my wife and I highly recommend the school. Montessori as an educational model requires trained and experienced teachers, prescribed educational infrastructure and a stress free environment. Heritage provides all these and more and we are certain they add up to the overall educational environment that is more than a sum of the parts. We were recommended Heritage by friends whose kids are now almost teenagers and the teachers who taught them are now teaching our child. That kind of teaching experience is invaluable and we can see that reflected in our childs progress. We find our child excited to go to school, learn new things everyday and build on the things learnt earlier. The quality and depth of feedback the teacher gave about our child’s progress during parent teacher meeting’s was impressive we are convinced our child is in safe and capable hands.I would recommend Heritage without hesitation and believe it is an exceptional school that can help realize any child’s potential.

Heritage Montessori School (HMS) is not just a school but a safe, family oriented environment for a child. Our daughter was here for one and a half years and attended the pre-k and kindergarten programs. She has really blossomed as a keen, interested, inquisitive and eager young learner. The school environment is disciplined, calm and enriching, helping children reach their greatest potential. Being with the same teacher for one and a half years gave our daughter a great opportunity to establish a wonderful relationship with her teacher. We liked our daughters teacher very much who believed that child education and development is a parent-teacher team effort. We are thankful to HMS school for our daughters excitement and curiosity about learning, willingness to help and care for others and be positive about the world around her. Since we moved to Virginia, our daughter is missing her school and teacher a great deal. HMS is a great school for young children.

I am writing this review to express great happiness and gratitude that I feel seeing the personal, social and academic growth in my grand-daughter who has been going to Heritage Montessori School since fall 2014. A very sharp yet shy and quiet girl of 2.5years, she has grown into a very confident child who is comfortable making new friends. The teachers are so wonderfully invested in shaping up the children in the right way and the influence can be seen in their day-to-day interactions. The teachers realize the true potential of each child and are willing on working with them to hone their talent to the fullest. My grand-daughter always talks about her teachers and friends at home and it is great to her foundation academic days being spent in a positive learning environment. I would like to recommend Heritage Montessori School to all the young parents looking for a place to send their kids learn the right life values and social skills while making academic progress by leaps and bounds.

The early years of a child are very important in terms of forming a solid foundation of learning that impacts the ability of a child to acquire knowledge all through their school years. My husband and I fully understand this and made sure we thoroughly explored all the right options as we geared to start schooling for our daughter. We knew about the Montessori methods of education and were given extremely high recommendations for Heritage Montessori School from our friends that have educated their children at HMS. We met with the owners of the school and understood their methods of teaching and encouraging learning in the class. The teachers also made sure that we, as parents, understood the importance of structured environment that is promoting learning and exploration. While it has been only a short while that our daughter started attending HMS, we have already observed some very remarkable changes in her personality. There is happiness and joy of having learned and explored something new that I see on my daughter’s face, and also other children, when I pick her from school. The owners, teachers and assistants are also super nice and willing to work on taking care of any special needs that your child would have.My husband and I are extremely happy with our choice of Heritage Montessori School for our daughter. My son attended Heritage Montessori for 2.5 years. It was amazing to see the growth during this time and watching him graduate from kindergarten with an educational background that will impact him for the better for the rest of his education. His teacher was great and he received one on one attention on a daily basis. They take the time to ensure each student is learning on an individual level, based on the childs abilities. When he was done with kindergarten he was reading on a 2nd grade level, doing multiplication, division, and had leadership qualities. I highly recommend this school. Heritage Montessori has been an explicit and enriching, experience for our family through our little Daughter. She joined in the month of January 2014 and completed ~7 months at the school by now. The quality language, decent and friendly behavior, were the first things to be noticed by us in the very first few weeks. It is a treat to watch my little one grab a book and sit by her own whenever she finds time. At the age of four she can even read small words by herself. Now a days, when families are shrinking the number of kids to a smaller digit. It is a great task to teach kids sharing and caring attitude towards the fellow and younger kids, but here is where Montessori comes in with a good solution. The way kids of different ages work and conduct themselves together is evident in their behavior outside school as well.We are so proud to be Montessori parents!!The joy of going to school every morning is such that, though she wish that the nights never end and she can play a part in the stories, that she listens every day at her school, in her dreams, but one statement that “if you do not get up, you are not going to school today” makes her jump out of the bed in a second :-). In all these months we have never seen a day when she is reluctant for not going to school, in our case, it has been the other way, and the mornings are always bright with her smile because of the comfort level she gets in her school. It will be an understatement to say that the teachers are supportive. Like most of parents, we also try our best on asking her that “who is her favorite teacher?” Whenever this question is asked, all the names of the teachers come in a flow and never in same order. Which shows that all her teachers are best and have same impact on her. Eating independently and managing herself when I am not around are the extra things which this school has given her. Every week we can make out her building vocabulary. We have to mention that it takes only three rings of the phone to contact them and get any information about our child anytime and discuss any concerns that we may have. The experience of parent’s teachers meeting is a learning experience for us. As the experienced teachers not only share our child’s progress report but are also methods that we can implement to make kids grow better, independent and aware. In the end I would like to thank the management, staff and everybody related to Heritage Montessori for giving the atmosphere we always wanted for our child. We definitely recommend Heritage Montessori School to other parents.Every word comes from the heart.Thank youShalini & Saurabh

This is in direct response to Kelsey Anderson whom I reported to google admin. Both my children attended Heritage -since 2010.They have nothing but positive reviews and with good reason. The employees have been there for YEARS. It is an excellent school with kind and caring teachers-all of them. I have stopped by in the middle of the day several times over the years unannounced and have NEVER seen anything that you supposedly described. It is always a quiet, peaceful and organized environment.Ive seen the owner walking around the building picking up any minute trash/debris bc they are meticulous. They also use non-toxic cleaning agents for the school and its always clean and bright. One time my daughter brought rice and dried seaweed for lunch and the teacher turned it into a cultural lesson; she later told me that my daughter was so delighted and that the children loved it. It’s a very positive environment. They treat the children with such care and attention. Quite frankly many of us as parents have only one complaint which is that the school spoils us bc none other compares as we search for beyond kindergarten. In four years, I have never even heard anyone raising their voice. It is a very nurturing and loving environment. I only wish they offered beyond Kindergarden otherwise my oldest would still be there.Your comments were so offensive that I had to respond and since I dont recognize your last name from the childrens roster I seriously question your agenda and the validity of your post.Addendum. It is now 2019 and my children still miss Heritage. We have stopped by over the years to say hello at their insistence. Btw. The lessons and skills they have learned are invaluable. My youngest now in 2nd grade has impeccable cursive as well as print handwriting. Over 3/4 of her classmates cannot write in cursive. The footprint of her education at Heritage laid out a strong foundation.Frankly every school since then does not even come half as close. Signed.A grateful parent.

Her match skills are great too.In between we had to travel to India for few months, and we were not sure if we will come back, so she went back to the same school in Bangalore, where she had studied for few months. They were amazed that she had learnt much more than what they were expecting, and when we were coming back to US, the school teacher back in Bangalore recommended that I send her back to HMS.Mr and Mrs Serafin take care of the kids as though they were their own.
