This place is filled with skilled , knowledgeable instructors and students. They are very warm and welcoming. Very great with the childrens class. Ive gone to other places myself and have high expectations. I was blown away. I can say with my experience this school is VERY VERY well ran . I highly recommend this place for adults and children. I went in to try it out for my child . She was hooked immediately. The instructors do an AMAZING JOB engaging and helping the kids understand this complex and useful martial art. Cant express how much my child and I love this place.

Professor Renato is an an extremely nice person and his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. My son did Jiu Jitsu at Sampa for 7 years before giving it up to play high school sports. I also took Jiu Jitsu for about a year before back issues sidelined me. Its great for kids, adults, beginners, and advanced. Great place all around!

Professor Renato and his team are the best on what they do. This place is amazing! We saw a change in our sons behavior after the first week. The discipline and respect that is implemented on and off the mat is so awesome to see. Our sons behavior has been so great that I told him that he deserved a special day to do whatever he wanted and when I asked him what he wanted to do, he replied with “I want to go to BJJ”. Sampa is a great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school with professional coaches and a family oriented environment. The staff is friendly and makes teaching their number one priority. Despite the pandemic, the school has been doing everything they can for their students. From creating outdoor training sessions, online virtual classes and moving to indoor classes with all the necessary precautions (temp checks, mask requirements, minimizing number of parents inside the school and extra sanitizing steps), the staff at Sampa is doing their best to ensure a safe training environment for kids and adults.

Renato is a great teacher and an amazing person! I have been his student since almost 15 years and Im an owner of a Jiu-Jitsu academy myself. Highly recommended. I think every kid in this neighborhood should go to this academy after school. My son ( now 8 years old) was kicked out from preschool a couple of times because he could not follow the directions and now he is categorized as a autistic child. He is very unique.However, this academy is perfect. Getting badges is somewhat very important for him. Even at home, when I say “I remove the badge” , he stops behaving badly.I recommend Sampa to everyone who has kids (special or normal) . They teach them manners and how to respect others.Children have a lot of fun in this academy. The professors and coaches are all great. My son burns a lot of energy, so he goes to bed a little earlier than before. I have more quiet time at night and I like that.

I first trained at Sampa back in 2011 and it was awesome! I had to step away for a while because my school and work schedule were too hectic. Now that Ive finished school I have been back for several years, and Ive got to tell you that this place is simply amazing and is better than before! The instructors are not only knowledgeable but are able to teach students of all skill levels and all levels of athletic ability (or in my case lack thereof), they are able to teach not just moves but concepts that will help you with your skill, fitness, and your attitude. Best school in the area by far!

My family has been training here at Sampa for a lil more than 3 years. In the time my family has been here we have seen a lot of growth. Both my daughters do the teens class and also adults class. With my husbands work schedule it makes it kind of hard to come train but when he does, he stays for 2 classes. All Sampas staff is very friendly and always willing to hear you out and help in any way. If you are looking for a place where there is consistency, communication, BJJ knowledge, and professionalism this is the place you need to be. Sampa is our second family.

Our family has part of the Sampa family for almost 10 years now. Professor Renato is the owner and the top black belt at the gym. My kids and husband train jujitsu. The kids learn to be good people and discipline as well. Jujitsu training has help to crosstrain them in other sports as well. I take the morning fitness and kickboxing classes daily. This gym is unique in that they care about their students and the quality of what they teach. Professor is alway updating training and techniques because he believes in continuous learning and growth. Sampa has been our fitness and martial arts family.

The classes are very detailed, the professor and coaches always have great advice and a lot of patience. The women’s class is great because they really take the time to teach the basics and it’s overall a comfortable atmosphere.

My son started going to Sampa when we moved here to Glendora and its been an incredibly positive experience for my boy. The most important lesson they teach at Sampa is to respect others and be helpful and thats something we feel continues after class is over. I would give them 10 stars if I could. The coaches are exceptional, patient, and knowledgeable. I brought my children and they absolutely loved it. The coaches teach a mixture of practical martial arts along with BJJ and make it so much fun for the kids.

Because of the Covid I was not able to in NY . Through the online classes I have learned so much . The teaching staff included Prof Renato are great instructors. I love this Dojo (Sampa) is one of the best places. My son has been going there since he was 9 years old. He’s going on 3 years attending. He had some behavioral issues and attention problems. The professors and coaches here have helped him so much . He’s a different kid now his got so much confidence and the best part he looks forward to going every day. He’s favorite Professor is Nathan . He’s been a good influence on him . I highly recommend it. During the pandemic they quick stared online clases and them outdoors . My two boys have been coming here since November, the coaches are all very hands on and Helpful, I am happy with our choice to bring our boys to Sampa when there were so many different types of martial arts in or around our area. I’ve been involved with Sampa since it opened in 2011 in Glendora, CA. I also have my kids here. I have been trained primarily by Prof Renato and Prof Nathan Basetto. The instruction is exceptional, the culture and environment at Sampa is like nowhere else. I’ve had my kids in different programs in different places and know without a doubt that Sampa stands above the others. I Will always call this place BJJ home.

I dont live in the United States but have attended several seminars with Professor Renato Migliaccio in Munich, Germany. From my perspective hes a great BJJ teacher with a huge knowledge and also a very kind guy. Therefore theres always a good vibe and you learn tons of new techniques at his seminars because theres always another one last technique. So, if you want to learn effective, authentic BJJ combined with good atmosphere you should definitely go and check out his school. If I lived in the US, Id exactly know where to train!

Listen up folks- this is one of the most professional business I have EVER dealt with. I have two kids attending classes there (10 and 14) and they are treated with respect, care, and are given clear instruction. The coaches and professors instill discipline and work-ethic that is geared toward each students level and ability. They workhard to make classes challenging AND fun.

Kick boxing! The pace is amazing, the coaches meet you where you are at and encourage you to be strong. Everyone is friendly and supportive. My coach, Kate, rocks! It does seem expensive but when you break it down day by day... it is reasonable. You attend sessions with your own personal coach, in a gym it would be much more. Also... with all their classes you not only totally work out, you are learning a skill

My son is 4-years-old. He has been a student at Sampa for a little over 6 months. He started in a class where parents participate. He recently graduated to the next class. Now Dad can watch and be proud of his boy. He has gained a lot of confidence, strength, discipline, and focus. Most of all he is having fun! The staff and coaches are friendly and helpful. There is a culture of kindness here. The studio is clean. Prices are affordable. They participate in the Glendora Christmas Parade and have Parents Nights so Mom & Dad can have the occasional date night. Glendora is fortunate to have Sampa in our city!

I started recently at the studio and it is absolutely what I needed and wanted out of a studio. Professor Renato is an awesome instructor and very accepting of all types of people. My goal was to find something that I can improve fitness and strengthen my stamina. Each class I go to, Im dying, but Im stronger each time. So far this is awesome. The other good thing is that the studio is good about separating the kids from adults so adults have dedicated time to train with others. Great studio!!!!

Its been my second week in the Adult BJJ class and I love it! Its challenging but not impossible. Professor Nathan is extremely patient with new students and goes through techniques really well. People there are very welcoming and eager to help, you dont ever feel excluded because youre the new kid. My experience so far has been pleasant and rewarding.

Great place to train. Instructors know what they are doing and most of all it is clear that their concern is the safety of the students.Check the level of the instruction here before go any where just because it is cheaper. The cheapest becomes expensive.

I googled this place as I moved to the area and wish to continue my bjj training. read a couple of reviews that where saying too expensive but decided to check it out.When there I realized classes are amazing, good and classy people attending, instructors live what they do and know what they are doing specially safety.Now expensive? Not at all. Maybe those people live in a budget then anything will be expensive. If you are in a budget go to YMCA or XYZ gym but I dont guarantee the quality and safety. They have a great family package and my kids are loving it and that is what counts. Their happiness and safety. Oh btw the price is the same as any decent martial arts school around USA.

Sampa is a great place for doing martial arts. The coaches and staff are extremely kind and the service is great. Their teaching styles are very effective. Aside from giving Jiu-Jitsu classes, Sampa offers Muay Thai, kickboxing, and Krav Maga. Sampa is a great place to train.

I do Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai here. They also offer fitness classes and Krav Maga. No lies, it is a LOT of fun. The quality here is top notch. It is challenging, it is not always easy, but you can do it. Jiu Jitsu has a way of weeding out the A holes. Seriously nothing but friendly good dudes here.

Great classes and knowledgeable staff

Hats off to the staff and coaches. Coach Ruel, Coach Alex, Coach Gio, amd Coach Bobby are the ones that teach my sons kickboxing classes. They are knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and great with the kids. It is too bad that the Friday class is too packed, and lumps in the older kids with the younger kids. The Friday class is too big, and I feel my son, as well as other kids, dont get the attention they need. If there were more instructors or fewer students, then attention to the kids could be better. There are too many times when kids cannot do the drill or are playing around instead of doing the drill, but the coaches are busy working with the others in the class. When the younger kids had the Saturday class, the attention was better, but the Saturdays were canceled and the younger kids were dumped in the Fridays with the olders. We are paying the same price, but the quality of the product decreased. The worst part for me is when I see some of the older/bigger kids bullying the younger/smaller kids and the coaches do not see it and thus are unable to fix, prevent, protect, or correct. For a place that claims to be a place where kids can learn to deal with bullies, it is disappointing to see bullying behavior. More coaches would fix this, I believe. As for the studio, clearly Sampa needs to expand as there is no space for the families to watch or are waiting for their kids. I make these comments in hopes and with trust that they will be taken in the spirit of community and challenge to rise to better standards.

Today I went to check out the gym but before I could get to the front door I was confronted by a maniac rude old man security guy demanding I move my car and he threatened me by saying he would block me with his ugly yellow truck and call the tow company. He claimed he could go in the gym and come out with 6 tough guys to make me move. Im an ex marine looking for a local gym and was detered by this crazy low life security.
