My secretary who I am very close with brought her daughter here for gymnastics class who is 3 years old. The instructor kicked her out for running back and forth to the water fountain. Shes 3 years old. It was the first day. At 3 years old isnt the main point to get rid of the energy? I couldnt believe it when I heard. Really shameful guys.

I love this place. The staff is extremely friendly, the child care is reliable and trustworthy, and the facility is very nice. You have plenty of options to choose from between different workout classes to take, swimming in an indoor pool, lifting with a variety of equipment, running on an indoor track, and even indoor racket ball. Its a great facility, and especially nice in the winter time when you dont get outside much. Its very spacious.

There is no place I despise more.I have worked here for four years, and I have never seen a more unappreciative non-profit anywhere. This may sound like an exaggeration but I definitely have to give this place one star. From an employee stand point the management is unorganized, rude, and does almost everything possible to get you in trouble. Before I worked here i volunteered here for 3 years and have been coming here for 11 years and it was a great experience but once I got on staff I wanted to go running for the hills. You get almost, belittled every time you walk into work, you do not feel like you are working for a good cause. Management needs to be trained better or even better yet be fired because I have never felt so bad about myself while working for this place. Unrealistic expectation are set and it doesn’t matter what you’ve done for them in the past they don’t care. This is the job from hell. I am also not the only person who thinks this I have multiple other colleagues that feel this way but we keep it to ourselves so other people can enjoy the y experience. I’ve stayed with this job because I love working with children and I love the principles it stands for but the execution is terrible. Going to the y is fine just do not work here unless you like feeling terrible about yourself. Save yourself the tears and work somewhere else.

Over the years, I have worked out at every type of facility in the areaand I find the YMCA to be one of the best. It offers any age group a variety of fitness routines. The equipment, personnel and physical plant set it apart from most. The entire building is well maintained and I am a stickler for cleanliness. I have utilized the weight room, the womens locker room, the spinning room as well as the yoga and fitness classrooms. The Y is constantly updating, whether to install new equipment or for building maintenance. The lounge area with free coffee and tea is welcoming. Membership rates are competitive. Although they do not offer the deep discounts the franchise gyms do, they have more to offer. If you havent been to the YMCA recently, you should check it out.

I had a membership for three years. By year three there monthly fee was more than some yearly gym fees. I saw a commercial on tv if joined back in January enrollment fees would be waived. I called they said they werent part of the promotion. I recently had a hip replacement and wanted a safe place to walk with the bad weather outside. They said had to pay enrollment fees and sign up for monthly bank installments or pay a daily fee which is more than a monthly fee at some gyms. Horrible way to treat members and former members.

Who just marks 1/5 stars and doesnt leave a review? What a missed opportunity! A Google User should come back and take to time to leave some remarks. What could these nice people at the YMCA possibly have done to deserve 1 star? Did they kick your puppy? Were they out of decaf? My goodness! What kind of sourpuss marks 1/5 stars for a nonprofit community center! Holy smokes! The YMCA has been an irreplaceable part of our lives and a foundation in the early education of my young family. It is a pillar of our community.

Tried multiple times to contact for private swim lessons, each time I got a hold of a person on the phone, they would send me to a voicemail that I would never receive a phone call back on. I went to the YMCA in May to fill out the paperwork and was told I would hear back in about a week to schedule. I called a month later, no return call. I called and left a total of 4 messages over the past 7 months and no response. I will go elsewhere.

My experience has been nothing but positive. I always feel welcomed by the busy staff. They cheerfully answer any questions. support is provided on equipment free with membership. The fitlinx system is awesome for keeping track of your personal settings on equipment. Overall, a really positive experience.

Extremely kind and helpful. Ive had the fitness center trainers contact me because I was below my goals and they wanted to know if there was anything they could do to help. Desk staff are wonderful--one of them greets me by name every time I come in (REALLY good memory!!).One of the aquatics coaches (Phyllis) is encouraging, understanding, and makes water workout sessions incredibly fun (Ive NEVER had fun exercising before!).This facility is transgender friendly, as well--As a non-binary transperson I was extremely apprehensive about going there, but I havent had any issues from staff or members.Im glad I made the decision to join!

Overpriced. They cater to familys which is great but not to single adults. $48 a month is awful. Way to keep the lower class low YMCA.

My whole family use this YMCA for different fitness classes and training. It is an excellent facility and the customer service frfom the staff is always extremely good. I fully recommend the facility. The only comments I would make are that the indoor swimming pool water is often a degree or two too cold (many people make comments about this but nothing is ever done to increase the temperature). I suppose that if one is a member of a competitive swimming team there, for example, the Gators, the temperaqture is considered to be fine. Of course, I realize that even maintaining a 1 degree increase probably costs a huge amount of money. Also the facility is very well used and I suspect that they will be looking to have come sort of capital campaign in the next few years or so to upgrade. modernize and expand the facilities - but, as is often the case for the Y, money is always short.Notwithstanding these two points, this is an essential and welcome facility in the Glens Falls area.
