Wonderful school! Wonderful staff! We were unsure if this school would be a good fit for our profoundly gifted child, but thus far we have been thrilled with how accommodating the teachers and administration has been. Anytime Ive had questions or concerns, theyve been addressed promptly with genuine interest and care. Our child is able to explore works that are challenging and interesting to her, in a supportive and loving environment. Her teacher has come up with so many wonderful ideas to enhance her school experience. We feel very fortunate to have found a school with teachers and staff who care so much. Very happy we joined the FHM family!

Contrarily to popular belief distributed by the parent text-warriors in the reviews, this school is nothing short of a disaster. Now not everything is miserable here, when I had attended this school I had a fantastic 4-6 teacher. She left the year after I did, and all off the other teachers had no idea what they were doing. The school discipline system is nothing short of pathetic; you can get away with anything there. Also, the kids without learning disability were placed in the same class as the rest. That resulted in those children harming the others and the attackers getting away with free with punches and general harm to others. The education left me defenseless for middle school, and into high school now. As a student, I hope that any parents reading this would honestly reconsider this school. It does not prepare you for following schools, and sidetracks to less important values in education.Best regards, student 2006-2014Two stars only because of my teacher.

Free Horizon Montessori is a truly amazing school community that is committed to creating and nurturing life long learners. My two children love to go to school each day and they come home very excited about what they are learning as well as eager to learn more. The Free Horizon Montessori staff is focused on educating the whole child and meeting the educational and emotional needs of each child. The parent community at FHM is extremely dedicated and supportive. We feel very blessed to be part of this community.

Free Horizon Montessori is the most extraordinary place for our family. The school successfully blends challenging academics with holistic character building using traditional Montessori methodology. Its awesome. Our kids LOVE their school, their teachers, their works. The growth we have witnessed in them over the past 4 years there is just so cool! Its wonderful to be part of such a strong school community that genuinely cares so much about the success and development of every single one of its students, which is evident in the way the teachers individualize instruction for each kid. Its so much better than the cookie cutter lesson-plan stuff I grew up with! Plus, for kids to have access to a traditional Montessori education at a PUBLIC school is just incredible!

This is a great school of community, hard-working dedicated staff, who do their very best every day to keep the Montessori philosophy in the forefront, and Jeffco funding issues and nonsense on the back burner. My son is happy, working, learning, and growing. Plus, you will not find a more excited and passionate community. Check it out. We love it.

After touring 11 different Montessori schools on the front range, we are happy to say that Free Horizon easily measures up to, or exceeds, even the best private Montessori schools. The staff is caring and responsive and the communication is excellent. After-school activities have been really enjoyed by our student, and their gifted programs have also been very enriching. Highly recommended.!

We didnt know much about the Montessori method of education before starting our kids at Free Horizon Montessori at age 3, but we are so grateful now to have found this school. Multi-age classrooms and freedom to move make so much sense! Our kiddos have thrived with FHMs focus on individualized Montessori education, independence, character education, and global citizenship. Free Horizon Montessori fosters our kids love for learning and challenges them academically. Respect for others, self, and the environment is intrinsically taught and practiced, which makes our school a really special place to be. FHMs administration and staff are amazingly dedicated. Parents are very involved in many volunteer capacities. It really does take a village, and our village is amazing! We are so lucky to have this public Montessori option for preschool to 8th grade in our community.

I have 2 children at FHM and they absolutely love it. They look forward to school and their learning and truly enjoy the Aftercare Program. FHM is not just a school where we drop our kids off but a community we are involved and a very active and diverse community. FHM is refreshing ...................

I cant say enough about how this schools approach to learning has benefitted my children. My daughter is extremely high achieving, a little OCD, and tends to stress herself out seeking perfection. The Montessori model gave her a weekly to-do list, which allowed her to feel in control, structured, and focussed. She has been so successful there (I still remember the day she brought home a division worksheet in Kindergarten, her teacher just wanted to see if she could do it - she aced it!).My son has a completely different learning style. He is more social, and easily talks himself out of hard work. And yet somehow, the same education model has worked wonders with him. He has become a little leader, helps his friends, and works on the same work over and over again until he gets it. I think the teachers spend an unusual amount of time evaluating each student (compared to other education models). They stress individualized learning to the extent that two very different kids can both be extremely successful - academically and socially. I am so impressed!!!
