I was in Zavala from 3rd-5th and let me tell y’all this is the best school there will probably ever be! The staff and teachers are well mannered and are so sweet! They are so supportive of what school you are going to go and what you will be in the future :) it was a great experience being in this school. You make friends easily and they have been with me the whole time and by my side. In 5th grade as a gift from all teachers you have a big graduation party which in my case couldn’t happen due to the pandemic. This has honestly been a experience I will never forget. So if you do even need a school think about this school it’s great with kids and very fun :)))

My daughter jayla DeAlba in the 3rd grade and loves zavala elementary school. And Im proud parents to say shes passing all her classes with flying colors. .shout out to Ms Jones. Lol. U rock.

My mother taught first grade at the original Zavala Elementary School. While Im sad that the old school is gone, Im glad that this school carries on in the same Spirit. Go Lions!

I absolutely love this school and I wouldnt put my child anywhere else. My child loves it here. I want my child to enjoy going to school everyday and this school does it for her. She loves it!!

My daughter is been in the school since kindergarten i absolutely love the school, all the teachers and specially the front office people they know both of my kids and they always to sweet to both of them :) , love all the activities and all the stuff they do for the kids, and i had always get responses from all my teachers through the years, am the mom that emails teachers all year to ask about their kids...

I transferred in to this district for 3rd grade. The transition process for a student lacks attention. The schools excuse is that they have a mass of students and full to capacity in each classroom. The teacher my son was assigned to mis-graded his work and only helped and allowed my son to speak on her terms. I had to write notes and go back and forth via email with the teacher. I called a conference wt the Assistant Principal and Principle and teachers about my findings and concerns for my child. They assured me things would get better. Well they didnt so I asked for a teacher change and my request was basically denied because they were full to capacity all except the class he was in. Which was ironic. I withdrew my child within 6 mos. The experience was horrible for myself and my child. OAN: the Assistant Principal is incredible; he should be the actual Principle!

My daughter has been a straight A student all her life. This is her first year at Zavala, as a 4th grader. She has been continuously struggling academically here. I be tried to email her teachers on many occasions, left them voicemails, and even hand written notes. They do not reach out to parents. I dont even know how to help my daughter because Im not sure what theyre working on. They NEVER get homework and theres never any papers in the take home folder at the end of the week. The office staff told me that it would take my daughter at least a year and a half to get used to the way they do things there. Also, they have state test every week and a cumulative state test every quarter. Madness!!! I dont recommend anyone send there kids here. Youd be helping them set your kid up for failure.

Im a student in the 5th grade here at zavala elementary. Although the entire 5th grade is at a bad point grade wise,I can ensure if you send your child here you will be satisfied with the staff,administrators,teachers and just the school as a whole.
