Love my school. Join Gospel choir for the best community and most diverse group on campus! I am a different person because of professor Nate Glasper and every person in this choir. Calvin is by no means perfect and they have a lot of work to do, but every school and every person does. Give it a chance, and I think youll like your time here :)

Talk about pathetic... These guys claim to be reformed and Christian but they compromise hugely to try to bring in students. By trying to be everything to everyone they become nothing to no one. I went here for school, the academics were decent but even that is getting dumbed down now. Many of the professors are extremely flaky. This school is great for snowflakes.

We love this school & their heart for people, the community, justice & redemption.... great value for private education, nice small class sizes with very accomplished professors. Calvin Univ offers so many professional majors, all of our kids will likely be Calvin Knights - first 2 LOVE it here, and #3 wants to come next year! It will be initiating to see if #4 & #5 will also choose Calvin! New school of business coming soon! Major in engineering, accounting, nursing, speech pathology, business, finance (degree in financial planning available).... we love Calvin!

Is Calvin College University even conservative anymore? One of the most radical liberals Winnie Brinks came out of Collin College (and her husband also is far left ) and yet they still attend the CRC. also a lot of the professors are very liberal leftist & didnt even want George Bush to speak there a few years ago. so I wouldnt confidently call this a conservative Christian Reformed denominational College anymore. too bad πŸ‘Ž.

Excellent place, great views, great people. The work culture is just incredible! Full benefits, paid vacation days, plus you get free tacos every Tuesday. Cant say enough how much this award means to me and my family, I just want to thank my teachers who have seen me through this far. I just want to thank my trusty mechanic Good Ol Uncle Stanly and his love of the finer things in life. He taught me how to peel an orange, flip a tractor wagon in a hay storm and water ski on milk cartons in the Nile river delta. Without him I could truly say I would never have crossed through the Belgium Alps unscathed. Lastly I would just like to leave a rude comment to the waiter that served me under cooked chicken at Dennys yesterday, Please sir for the love of God and all things Holy, flip the chicken and cook the other side for at least 30-45 minutes or until the edges curl up wings flair out and it starts crowing.

Calvin College is a fabulous, liberal arts college! I received my Bachelors Degree from Calvin College and went on the obtain a Masters Degree from Michigan State, in the field of Education. Calvin College or I guess its almost a University now , has its pros and cons and I want to focus on the aspect of it being still more of a regional institution rather than a national college or university. it is still NOT a recognized name except amongst other Christian colleges and Christian Schools from the same or similar traditions. but for those who do not know much about Christian education, Calvin College is a no-name amongst them and so if you go outside the circle, Beware of the danger of falling amongst wolves so to speak ...ie those who are ignorant... I personally experienced this when I worked as a teacher in a public school in a rural area of California and the new (& ignorant) principal thought the word reformed meant that Calvin was a reform school for juvenile delinquents or something like that (my resume packet included a pastoral reference which included CRC letterhead, hence the word reformed was on it). this was a few years before internet so I guess he couldnt do basic google research. I suppose now that even those who are ignorant [ it baffles me that he didnt know anything about the reformation ...but u cant assume graduates of secular education establishments do, anymore] can at least Google a few words or names and figure out that Calvin is a fairly well-respected Christian academic Institution but just a word to the wise that not everybody knows the name Calvin College...the further u go from Grand Rapids the less it will be recognized. And unfortunately there are a few too many locals from the Grand Rapids area who still somewhat control the milieu at Calvin College almost as if its a sense of entitlement or ownership because they grew up there. And some of them have only been out of Grand Rapids for a few short years in grad school, & then its straight back to GR (Rick DeVries for example). Henceforth Calvin University needs to make a conscientious effort to overcome this regional status ...sort of like Hillsdale College did by way of using conservative radio nationwide to promote themselves very effectively. Otherwise, u can call yourself a university but you will still be a regional college ...Calvin MUST make the promotional investment to inform the USA who they are (who we are) ...if you truly believe in yourselves, & prove youre not just content w being midwest comfortable w/ a cottage on lake Michigan.

I, along with 1200 other people came to the Central States Rotary youth exchange conference with a bad High being used who are going to high school in another country or coming to go to school here. The location is very beautiful and let me get the bad things out of the way first. Most of the buildings had just one little sign so you cant figure out where and what things are. I stayed in the dorm which was overall accommodating but they didnt have fitted sheets on the beds just some kind of weird little felt pad so essentially I slept on the mattress. Now for the good things; well-balanced and lots of options on the food, minimal use of disposables and styrofoam, a lot of environmental options. Although there was signage for compost there was no place to actually collect it.A very beautiful and walkable campus

Youre going to overpay MASSIVELY for an education CC can give. The only thing I credit this school for is the friends I still have from there. They will compromise on Christian values to be more politically correct. And avoid having firm stances on issues to appease all. Constantly changing what the Bible says and church doctrine for PC culture. For classes, 90% youll never need or use and the professors use it as their time to spread their extremely radical political beliefs. Adding, 90% of professors are hired based on their work in the field and not for teaching ability. Making you buytheur expensive textbook for a class and never using it once. You must have their opinions or risk being failed for no reason. By trying to please everyone they make everyone mad and they wonder why enrollment has gone down drastically. Which is also due to the fact of them taking away classes and value while hiking up tuition rates.Lastly, they say they do everything they can to help their graduates succeed. Laughable. Almost no support at all and dont prepare anyone for the real world. For the support after college. Thats just them trying to get you to send them more money after you wasted 100k there.Going to be better off going to trade school and learning actual skills and not being 90k+ in debt after
