My son attends Providence Academy and it has been a good decision for our family. The school stretches the students to reach their full potential. For my son it was a smart decision due to the small class size and the opportunity to study history, literature and language that is rich and in depth, outshining any public school. Every teacher knows each pupil - this intimacy leads to a more confident student with a bright future.

Providence Academy has been nothing short of phenomenal! Our family is now in our 13th year at Providence and we have found it to excellent in terms of academics, fine arts, and athletic offerings. The teachers have been great to work with and genuinely care about the students well-being not just their academic success. The classical method of education teaches students the subject matter in the way their best able to absorb it at their age and stage, focusing on fax and memorization in the younger grades moving into connecting those facts using logic and reason and then focusing on drawing conclusions and being able to articulate them both verbally and in written form as they complete their high school education. We would highly recommend Providence Academy to parents looking for the best educational experience for their children.

Providence has been an incredible blessing to our family. Our children have thrived in an environment where they can be challenged academically while growing in their faith.

This school is phenomenal. I can say that as both a parent and staff member. Look into its compelling vision, unique educational model and proven success at raising the next generation of Godly leaders. You wont regret it!

Teachers Staff and Parents are amazing here! They go above and beyond for education. Jesus is the focus and it felt in all they do!

Almost no certified teachers. The only benefit offered to their teachers is free tuition for their own kids, so most of the teachers are other parents. Theyre not trained in classroom management, they dont necessarily have any secondary education (at all!), and they Give lots of homework (even Latin how fancy!) in order to fool parents into thinking the kids are being well-educated. Substitute teachers are, you guessed it, other parents...they send out an email to all the families in that classroom looking for help if the main parent has to be out.The kids train all year for open house events and demonstrations designed to impress perspective parents (and to convince current families theyre getting their $$$$$$$$ worth), but these demos dont actually reflect true learning. For example, 2nd graders practice some sort of rhyme about how to diagram a sentence, but the children are not actually trained on sentence structure, parts of a sentence, or any surrounding context at all. They may know the terms subject and predicate and how to draw one specifically practiced sentence in a diagram, but they do not understand grammar or usage. This lack of thorough education, lack of qualified educators, and overall trying-to-be-classical-but-actually-charging-an-arm-and-a-leg for other parents to teach my own kids A Beka-level curriculum is just so not worth it to me. My son was reading by the time he was in kindergarten (so yes, he was on the early side), and all year long all the teacher had him do was letter of the day activities. Towards the end, I had to in fact supplement her with my own resources, which I paid for.The teachers dont understand (and arent trained) how to accommodate or support academically advanced students. They have one curriculum they teach from, a hodge podge staff of parents who are at varying levels of abilities and enthusiasm.I will say that they do have a lot of fundraising opportunities available to help offset the exorbitant prices, if begging all of your friends and family for money for coffee, Christmas wreaths, and admission to sub par theater productions is your idea of a good time.Overall, if you can afford this school you can afford St. Johns or Notre Dame, and youll have much more qualified teachers and many more academic opportunities. Please be very very careful about the smoke and mirrors of the terms classical and Christian and ask hard questions about how qualified these so-called educators are.

While my wife is a longtime teacher here, I used to be on the board, and our children have gone here for over 10 years now, I can honestly say that this is the best school weve ever run across. In addition to your children getting a strong Christian worldview here, they will have a stout academic experience. It will certainly challenge your student, but that it precisely what they need to be successful in this tops-turvy, hyper-competitive, ever changing world in which we live. If you want an easier, lower-key school, look elsewhere, but if you desire the best for your children, you mustnt select any other school. It is hard, but the persistence and effort is worth it; take it from me as we see the fruits of our childrens work. The oldest of our three children is a sophomore now, and it is more apparent by the day that we made the right choice in choosing Providence. Choose wisely!
